I feel so lucky to have found Dr. Chipman - she's everything you would want in a doctor - knowledgeable, patient and a great listener.

She ordered a test and took the time to examine in her office. Patient with diagnostics and none of the hubris that I so often and sadly run into these days. Check in: they make you call from your car because of COVID 19. No big deal right? Well I called when I arrived 15 minutes prior as requested. I then proceeded to sit in my car for 45 minutes with no contact or communication from them. I finally called them again and waited another 10 minutes after that before I was called. Actual Appointment: went in and they did a standard check in. When the doctor finally came in almost 45 minutes late, she first sat 6 ft away from me and asked why I came in. She then proceeded to cut me off and tell me I needed to fix my mask on my face. Please note that my mask was on all the way, but because I had a homemade sewn mask, it did not stuck perfectly to my face to create a full seal around my cheek and nose area. So after spending some time adjust my mask to her liking, she then finally came close enough to me to actually do an exam. I went in for an ear issue so she checked my ears first. When I told her I felt congestion in my ears, she said well normally I would check your throat and nose but I don't want to do that because of COVID. Now I'm confused. I went to see an ENT and she doesn't want to check me nose and throat. I understand the risk of COVID, but she is a doctor and I'm here for an appointment after jumping through several hoops to prove I am not sick and waiting a long time in my car! We are now about 15 minutes in to the appointment. She can't see anything in my ears so she says "go next door and get an audiology test". She tells me I should take allergy meds. I told her I've done that. She then offers to inject me with a steroid. I said no thanks. I don't think just taking a look in my ear and telling me "I don't see what's wrong" warrants the offer of a steroid injection. She gives me a card to the lady next door for a hearing test and tell me I can promptly leave out the other door. No bill, no follow up, just go get a hearing test. Here's where it gets great. My bill comes in $230!!!! For what exactly? I'm not sure. Poor bedside manner, being late, mask shaming me and not doing a SINGLE THING to help my symptoms. She didn't even bother to give me a full exam. If your comfortable going to a doctor who is too afraid to properly practice her trade and then over charge you then this is your lady. Otherwise, I would recommend doing a better job vetting an ENT than I did. Bottom Line: she seemed more afraid of me than willing to help me. She was late, tactless about the mask and seemed more interested in getting me out of there as quickly as possible than anything else. If I had been given a bill on the spot, I would have fought it. I guess we all live and learn.

The wait…read moretime was about 3-4 weeks out for an appointment, but I was also looking at specific days of the week so it might be sooner if you don't have any time constraints. The allergy test itself was interesting and they test several environmental allergens. I also had to return on another day to test food allergens, as well as retesting some of the other environmental variables that I scored low sensitivity on. You get the results after waiting 20 minutes or so once you've had enough time to trigger a reaction. Dr. Anand was so friendly and personable. I felt like she was a very thorough clinician and really took her time to explain everything to me. She also took note of other issues that weren't quite in her scope, and referred me out to other specialists to make sure I got the care I needed. She then followed up with me to make the process smoother, which I truly appreciated. Other staff members (LVNs and front desk) are also informative and helpful. They do have a mask policy in place, and if you forget to wear one, they have plenty to spare. It is a healthcare facility after all and I don't think they should be rated poorly just because of a policy to ensure the safety of staff and patients alike.

I did not feel rushed during my visit which sometimes happens at doctor visits. He is very down to earth and caring. The office is very clean and spacious and well lit. I want to give a shout out to nurse Dolores who did a fantastic job. I highly recommend this clinic and especially Dr Engler.

I liked him immediately upon meeting him. Dr. Ellison and his staff are extremely professional and hold themselves to what they promise. He worked around my schedule and personal commitments to ensure I was taken care of. I also appreciate how the doctor himself personally returns phone calls and sees through everything. He also does things pretty much immediately when he says he will, which is very in line with my personality and earns him great respect in my eyes. I felt very at ease with him and trusted his opinion. How he keeps track of all his patients and everything going on is astounding. I also think the man works day and night. I accidentally called his direct line once late night, and thought I hung up before it rang. However, he called both myself and my partner a few hours later a bit past midnight because he was concerned something had gone wrong. You're in good hands if you're fortunate enough to get an appointment with Dr. Ellison!

I should have stuck with my gut and went to a ENT specialist at Stanford. She ignored my concerns. I came in for a nose bleed and it turned out to be very traumatic. Also before I continue she is now at San Mateo Medical center. She was not patient I felt like she was in a rush and had me go in between rooms and also the room was not organized. She has to step out a few times because of certain tools weren't in the correct place. After she treated me so quickly and not in a calm pace she left into another room to work with someone else. I didn't like how she didn't tell me what she was going to do when she was treating me and when I told her I was in pain she ignored me. I cried and I have a high pain tolerance. She ignored everything I said. It happend end so quickly and I wish I didn't have a bleed if I could I would've walked out. I will not come back to see her again! She shouldn't be treating patients this way! Just horrible! I never felt this way before! Smh

I went in a while back with a bit of vertigo but also a bit of severe light-headedness. I was shocked how quickly she arrived at the diagnosis, and she did it with lightning speed, which is why I initially thought her conclusion was suspect. Umm, not to mention, I didn't want to hear what she had to say! I didn't want to admit to myself that it was a neurological issue, not a vestibular one, since the latter is infinitely easier to treat and fix than the former. Anyway, despite that I didn't want to admit it to myself or to her at the time, she turned out to be correct. She's sort of has a robo-doc presence, and if you've ever seen the counterpart movie, you'll know what I'm talking about. Her presence I initially found off-putting, but honestly, I wasn't here to make a best friend and confidante. For my needs, purely medical in nature, she was perfect.
