Do not trust this doctor! She was rude, dismissive and consistently told me I was just getting older. She actually rolled her eyes at me when I said I work out but was feeling very out of shape. I had multiple complaints and no other history of illness. There was no reason for her not to believe me and she delayed my getting real help for months. Moving from unpleasant to incompetent: she told me my test results were fine (PTH) but when I read the report the test WASN'T EVEN RUN. Upon pointing this out to her, she indicated it was probably fine anyway. I insisted we re-run it and it was a very typical clue to my diagnosis. It turned out I had a 3.5 cm nodule on my thyroid which was cancerous and a parathyroid that had to be removed as it had stopped working. Even if I could forgive the miserable attitude, giving patients wrong test results is downright incompetent. read more

My employer has a tie up with One Medical. I visited Dr Maricar for a checkup. She was patient with her exam but unfortunately, all she did was to suggest to monitor my symptoms by downloading a generic wellness phone app. This was one of the worst diagnoses I have received from any doctor. The next day, I made an appointment outside One Medical with someone who could provide more helpful medical advice. On top of this, I received $$$ bill from One Medical. When I called their billing department to check on the bill, they thought I was calling to negotiate and they automatically reduced it in half. I complained to my employer who had to follow up with One Medical to sort out the coverage. Such a hassle, avoid and go to a real clinic and a real doctor. read more

Sadly, enough she had the audacity to say she billed over $500 just for a phone appointment bc she had to "thoroughly" read into my background history for a prescription. Not sure how deep she needed to dig as I am a healthy, single, no kids, not into drugs or drinking, I don't have any medical illnesses or past surgeries, no health concerns. I love the idea of Metropolitan, but not the practice. For the annual fee of $149 + all copays, I expect more professionalism and attention from the doctors. The idea of having all my allopathic/holistic medical needs met in one office instead of scooting around town as I typically have to was a huge draw. I initially asked for an appointment with Carrie Bowler but was told that her practice was full, so I scheduled with Maricar instead. I have a complex medical history and have a print-out of my case history for doctors to read and familiarize themselves with. In this case I went in for a simple and straightforward knee pain issue. Unfortunately, Maricar was distracted to such a degree that she had to ask me four times which knee I had come in for. She then told me there wasn't much I could do beyond physical therapy, that I could expect to develop early arthritis, and, 10 minutes after meeting her, I was back in the waiting area. For that kind of service I'll skip the annual fee and go to my regular doctors instead, who are familiar with my case, attentive and generous with their time even if they are scattered all around town. One star is for Judy at the front desk was very nice and efficient about refunding the annual fee I had paid. The other is for a great concept, including services housed in one office and internet access to one's electronic medical files. read more

I went to Dr. P for a general check-up and to ask about some health issues. She was extremely thorough. I've emailed her and gotten quick responses, she's taken care of calling in prescriptions and is very knowledgeable and responsive. I think the yearly cost is worth it for the ease and peace of mind. read more

I switched to Dr Pacquing after years with a doctor who was great, but difficult to reach and to get an appointment with (read: 4 month wait, minimum.) Enter Dr Pacquing. I was able to get an appointment same-day as a result of a cancellation for my first visit. I was given one of One Medical's 'Standard appointments,' which allowed for her to spend 45 minutes with me. She was thorough, caring, empathetic, and listened to all of my concerns. All prescriptions and referrals were sent while I was in the room. After I left, the attentiveness continued. Whether it be a question about a prescription, help setting outside appointments, or getting in for follow up visits, Dr Pacquing and her staff have been extremely attentive, professional, and prompt. I couldn't be happier and recommend her without hesitation. Trust me, the $149 annual fee to join One Medical is worth every penny. read more

Dr. Pacquing is more proactive about my health than I am! If you are a young female patient, she is perfect. She strikes the perfect balance of book-smarts w/ real-world practicality, she is friendly but knowledgeable, and best of all, she is reachable via email!!! AND she gets back to you quickly AND remembers the details. The medical group requires a "membership" of $75 for the year but it is worth the same-day appointments you can get. read more

When I moved to California, I used yelp to find a new doctor. Yelp recommended the Metropolitan Medical Group, seeing as so many of their doctors and general office practices had excellent reviews. So off I went for my annual gyno exam, and I was assigned Dr. Pacquing. I made her my primary care physician after that, and have seen her since. What can I say? I enjoy seeing her -- she's knowledgeable, she takes me seriously, and I've been able to comfortably talk to her about my health concerns. She has also been very good for referrals and reminders (for example, I'm taking a trip and I need a vaccine that only the SF travel clinic can offer. She remembered and had all the information emailed to me after my appointment with her, just in case I forgot.) I happily recommend her, and she is a breath of fresh air after some of the doctors/hospital networks/red tape I was required to see under my old health insurance. The office and office staff are also great. Dr. Pacquing's office is in the Embarcadero Plaza, so it is easy to get to from BART. I have never found it hard to get an appointment. The only thing to consider is that it costs something like 75 or 79 dollars a year to use the medical group, but I have found the investment worth it. I can order my prescription refills online, check my medical records online, and can get in touch with folks there by phone or through email. read more

I was so nervous about not having everything all in one location but I read great things about One Medical. I signed up and made an appointment with Dr. Pacquing. I have been with her since 2012 and she is amazing. She is kind, considerate, takes her time, asks questions about health, lifestyle, family etc. She really wants to know all about her patients. She always makes me feel comfortable. She also listens to you and your questions and provides feedback or advice when needed. She is a very comforting and compassionate doctor. I've been seeing Dr. Pacquing after I joined OneMedical, since 2013, and adore her! She's on the ball efficient, e.g. with thorough history-taking, accurate diagnoses, and optimal treatment. She covers all the bases and is empathic, which is key for me because it's important I feel like my physician understands what I'm going through. When I initially started seeing her, though I was dealing with several chronic health stuff, I was far better than I currently am, and checked in with her from time to time, using her for my refills and for referring me to a GI. A few years ago, my need for ongoing follow-up with her increased, e.g. I developed some challenging lumbar mobility issues and other pain related conditions ... and though somewhere along the line, due to scheduling conflicts, I saw another OneMed doctor and NP, I was unhappy with my experiences, after which I was assigned to another OneMedical doctor, whom I never saw. Whenever I had minor issues crop up, I always tried to finagle an appointment with her because I knew I could trust her to treat me with the expertise for which I'd come to rely on her. She's very responsive with communique and unfailingly compassionate, sensitive and kind--a rare blend of professionalism and down to earth approachable, very easy to confide in, and an all around reliably terrific physician. Dr. Pacquing is very professional and friendly and I would highly recommend her. She has always responded promptly with e-mails and follow-up on everything I need. Metropolitan Health with Dr. Pacquing & Jennie Cossman has been the best primary care I have ever had. I am literally in and out of there in less than 30 minutes, (even for a women's physical!) because the physicians have the full time designated to you. You don't have to wait for 10-?? minutes while the doctor runs from office to office. And, they just fax the prescriptions in for you on-site. read more

I believe going to a doctor is a zero-sum game, either they fix you up or they don't. Dr. Pacquing certainly fixed me up. Through her, I found out things that were wrong with me of which I didn't even realize were wrong. Dr. Pacquing's approach to healing is really more holistic than "take two of these then call me in the morning." Imagine this: You're sitting at your desk at work, not feeling well, so you decide to email your doctor to explain the symptoms you're having, the type of treatment that has been helpful in the past, and ask for her recommendation. You get an Out of Office reply stating that the doctor is out for a week, referring you to her assistant (email and phone provided). Before you even have a chance to ponder contacting her assistant, you get an email back from your doctor saying that she has faxed a prescription to your pharmacy, telling you to feel better. This, my friends, is not just a scenario, it's reality. It just happened to me today, and it was so remarkable, that I had to share it. This is after she sat down with me face to face for a half hour last week talking me through my options for another matter. I feel extremely lucky that I found Dr. Pacquing through Yelp. She is kind, thorough, has a wonderful bedside manner, and seems very knowledgeable and truly interested in medicine and treatment options. Over 4 years ago I was scared - heart palpitations, went to the ER, my previous doctors office said my doc would call me within an hour twice and never did call, delaying my treatment. I found Dr Pacquing after researching online - since I was scared for my life I was drawn to One Medical's reputation (although a new group from what I could tell) I'm a medical person myself but when it comes to your own health getting complicated I was confused and scared...... Bad stuff still happened after I became a patient of Dr Pacquing until the dust settled. I truly feel this medical group, and Dr Pacquing are why I'm still on this planet. I'm a complicated patient and Dr Pacquing is able to manage most all aspects of my health - when she feels appropriate she refers me to a specialist. Dr. Pacquing is great. She's thorough and she's sweet and she indulges me when I have "freak-out" moments and makes me calm. They've been understanding when I have to cancel last min. because of work. I always get prompt replies from her when I email questions/concerns. The list of pros goes on and on. To the dude that only put 3 stars down until he went to Metro Med Grp, a couple things. First, don't rate something on Yelp until you've experienced their service (we don't rate hypotheticals on Yelp, not what it's for) and secondly, the $99.00 membership fee is NOTHING. My Mom in Ohio had to pay almost $2500 to stay w/ her boutique doctor. Have you not ever been to the ER or a "regular" gp before? I can email my doctor, get a prompt and informative response, book a same-day appointment, and manage my health information online. Can you? If you can't you should probably start going to see Dr. Pacquing. I especially recommend her for young women. I went to Dr. Pacquing to finally treat my migraines. It was so refreshing to hear a doctor say "I have the same problem" and then explain how the different types of treatments work from first-hand experience. I've done some internet research on this place and Dr. Maricar Pacquing and I have to say that I'm impressed. However, their extra $99.00 fee on top of my co-pay is not appealing at first. Then, I found out there is the email access to the physician and that is a plus. Rarely do you have Can be expensive if you are on a budget. However, the upside is that they have excellent customer service and same day appointment. I'm definitely considering this place to switch to for primary care. Will consider raising my rating once I get my experience from them. read more

I think the convenience of same day appointments is great and the on-time appointments are a great plus. However, I have not been very impressed with the doctors. I might need to try Dr Schechter or one of the other doctors but so far I am not impressed. I did not get any opinions from my doctor of what could be causing the pain or if i should be tracking anything or if we should do any tests to figure out what was wrong. I am going to give this clinic one more try and if not i will not renew my membership. One more thing - i called to make another appointment and three of the doctors with the best reviews are not taking new patients. I think they should let you know this when you decide to pay the annual $99 fee. read more

Yes it's convenient to email the doctor and she does respond, but I'm not very confident in the diagnosis. I'm still in a lot of pain. She had to keep looking up answers to my questions on her computer. I could do that myself with webmd. I felt my problem was much more serious and all she could say is I don't know. She didn't offer any medication, tests, or referral to a specialist. I should have just went to the specialist to begin with instead of wasting my time and money. read more

Very impersonal doctors' office. I switched to this office for the convenience --close to work. I had been with my prior primary care physician for ten years until she moved across town --and all things considered, I'll probably switch back. This place is NOT worth it. They never remember who I am. I have a pretty simple prescription refill and every month when Walgreens calls Metropolitan Medical Group, Dr. Pacquing sends me a message that I need to make an appointment before I can get a refill. This requires me to make a phone call to let Dr. Paquin know that I had just been in to see her a few months ago. Mind you --I never get through to a person --I'm always contacted back by email two or three days later. In the email I am told --"in the future, [i] can request all prescriptions refills by email." Really? Really??? They think I enjoy this multi-day process of phone calls and emails with people who don't know my medical history and can't bother looking it up. I think the business model of Metropolitan Medical Group is a nice idea/good concept --but just doesn't work. Way too impersonal. It's disappointing. Besides that, I found Dr. Pacquing to be very inexperienced and lacking in basic knowledge. She made me nervous and I wouldn't go back to her --so maybe that was the problem. I saw Dr. Webb on a subsequent visit and she was fantastic. Unfortunately, I don't think Dr. Webb regularly practices in the Financial District. read more
