Courtesy to the customer. Just went into the shop for the first time and wanted an item to be altered. Immediately the owner was rude to me. He dismissed me right away. Additionally I was going to purchase 2 long sleeve dress shirts for my granddaughters wedding, due to his rudeness I didn't even had a chance to talk to him about it. Gah! This place is *still* effing awesome. And I really mean it when I say that they've saved my life on several occasions. With that being said, I thought I must post an update since I've recently had a very important (and friggin' expensive) piece completely made amazing here. A bridesmaid dress. I literally hated this dress when I bought it, but I did knowing it was my best option for alterations--and hey, I have a great tailor! We're talking horrible halter neckline (way too high) and arbitrary hanging pieces that looked gawdy. Eeeeew. I brought it into Terriaco knowing they would not only fix everything I wanted, but they'd do it right. Now, don't take what I'm saying lightly because they literally had to cut fabric from the bottom of my dress to lengthen the halter straps. Those straps just so happened to have intricate pleating on them, which the team at Terriaco managed to recreate and match perfectly. I was expecting something that I'd have to cover with my hair. Nope. I wore my hair in an up-do proudly and you couldn't even see the alteration. They even had me come in with the exact shoes I was going to wear to get the hem on the dress perfect. This is a place I drive 45 minutes to get to just to know for certain that the finished product. In fact, I just spent a ton on a designer outfit that I just dropped off with them. I completely trust their expertise and know that I'll, once again, love the finished product--no questions asked. Fast, trustworthy, dependable, miracle-workers. Ladies, Don't be afraid to bring your wedding gowns to a "suit store"! Frank knows what he is doing with dresses! He did a fantastic job altering my daughter's wedding gown and doing a little work on my MOB dress as well. My daughter's dress needed to be taken in, hemmed and needed quite a bit of work to make it less "revealing" at the bust (in her words, "grandparent-appropriate") and you cannot even tell that the work was done! She was thrilled with the results and got many compliments on how well the dress fit her. The customer service was also excellent! No complaints! read more

I recently went to Terriaco's to have a dress altered for my son's wedding. The first thing Dominic Terriaco said to me when i walked in the door is when do you need it? Not hello or any other friendly salutation. I had called ahead to see what the lead time was and was told 2 weeks. The wedding is in 22 days. I tried on my dress and he found everything wrong said it was made wrong etc. I had ordered this dress from a very repbutable wedding shop in Charlotte NC. Of course at this point I am almost in tears as the dress was specially made to my color choices. I also had brought my MIL with me to get her suit altered too. He chastised her for removing her shoulder pads and said he couldnt do anything about it. Very poor customer service. I might add that my husband has dropped big bucks in this shop. Never again they just lost our business. Today I took my dress to Sue in Chardon on the square she pinned it up in just a few minutes and will have it ready by the end of the week. I called Terriaco relatively last minute about a swim suit that I was desperately needing altered before a trip. Not only did Frank and Dominic allow me to come in at closing, they had my suit done in 3 days! Frank was awesome, and he made me feel comfortable while also giving me some proper fit suggestions and advice. I ended up calling back 2 days after initially dropping it off and asking if they can also alter a dress that I had. They had it done at the same time that I picked up my swim suit and both were perfect! I didn't know what all of my expectations were as I'd not previously had much altered, but it's safe to say that they exceeded what I did expect, and at a fair price. I've already told all of my family and they will absolutely be my go-to in the future! read more

Brought in a very nice two button grey wool S110 Italian made suit in for hemming of pants and jacket sleeves. Dropping off the suit was a pleasant experience, I was greeted by a younger man perhaps in his early 40s who was very friendly/professional and gave me a 10 day time frame w/ the cost of the alterations before I left (53.00). I had to call them at the 14 day mark to check on the progress, and I was told that it would be ready the following day. When I came to pick up the suit, an older man, maybe in his mid to late 50s, was there and brought out the suit for me to try on. He made a comment about my suit sleeves (my suit jacket had functional button holes) saying that he did "the best he could" which really threw me off because if this was a job that he wasn't comfortable with, I would have rather had them call me to come get it instead and I would have brought it to someone else who is, especially considering the fact that I'm paying for this service, I also live an hour away. In relation to my arm length and where the sleeves met my wrists the sleeve length wasn't up to tailor length standards, which didn't bother me. My only concern at this point was that the sleeves were even and symmetrical to one another for obvious reasons. The pants were too long causing an awful looking break at the top of my dress shoe which he explained the leg openings were too narrow and if he went any higher than it would look like I had floods. This is debatable but I think he just wanted stay on the safe side in length (which I thank him for). As I was trying them on, he felt the need to touch and pull on the wool fabric when talking about specific parts of the suit which I didn't appreciate considering how much I paid for it. After voicing my reasonable concerns about the alterations, especially the pants, he became very defensive and told me I was wrong it was the way it needed to be. I may not be a tailor, but I do know what looks acceptable and what doesn't. The quality of the alterations were nice, but I cant say I agreed with how they were done. Upon paying for the service I was charged 62.00. I could tell he was obviously very interested in the suit and had asked me where I got it from. Then he asked me how much I paid for it. After I told him, he looked at me really condescendingly and said, "That's a lot to pay for a cheap Chinese suit." Keep in mind my suit was the best looking suit in his store, all his inventory looked very outdated, 90's 3 button suits. He insulted my fine 100% wool S110 ITALIAN suit by calling it a cheap Chinese suit and charged me a different price than what I was told before. It is a shame I had this type of experience, I had read other good reviews before deciding to come here but needless to say I wont be bringing anymore of my expensive suits here. read more

Went in to get multiple items tailored but was advised that due to the extensive work needed the money would be better spent on just buying new items. While I didn't end up using their tailoring services, the fact that they didn't try to get me to spend money unnecessarily was greatly appreciated and will result in them getting my patronage in the future. read more

Have purchased a suit there, and the pricing was great, along with the custom tailoring and cut of the suit! They sell casual along with formal wear for men and women. While interviewing for medical schools I had them tailor my suit. They did a fantastic job. For my "starting medical school" ceremony thing, I brought my dress in to see if they thought I needed it tailored. He gave me an honest opinion and a lesson on how to know if a dress fits properly. He told me my dress was perfect and any alterations would be a disservice. Not only are they quick, affordable, and highly skilled- they are honest too. I've lived in NY and Boston, this is my favorite for alterations. I would without question drive a few hours for them when i need something altered in the future. read more

Oh my goodness did they have an absolutely beautiful navy suit for my husband to wear at our daughter's wedding! We went there after getting a refund at a suit store down the road for a custom made suit that was absolutely hideous and was beyond repair by alterations. I don't recall which gentleman took care of my husband but he was patient and accommodating. We were in a bit of a time crunch but the alterations were done to perfection within a week or two. The suit was very well made and didn't require a lot of alterations to make it a perfect fit for my husband. Their selection was just right for a father of the bride. My husband wanted a vest to wear with his suit. The gentleman found one that was not a perfect match color wise, but just enough of color variance that made the vest work perfectly with the pants and jacket. The price was very fair. I would recommend you stop at Terriaco when you are shopping in Mentor for men's wear and see what they could do for you. I waited last minute to have my bridesmaid dress tailored and they were able to get it hemmed in a short amount of time and it came out perfect. The hem looks better than when I initially bought the dress. I wasn't sure how much needed hemmed from the bottom but Dominic was super helpful and I could not be more happy with the result. I love Terriaco's and I have been going there for years. There is a big difference in having alterations done at Terriaco's versus a seamstress. These guys are pros. They could look at you and know exactly what clothes you should wear. Domenic and Frank know a lot about clothing and how it is made, and how you should wear your clothes. I have worked with both Domenic and Frank and both are very honest which I LOVE, but I guess if you are overly sensitive you could get offended. Personally I like to get someone's opinion...especially a man's opinion on what looks good. This is the place to go if you want something to wear for a special occasion!! I was a bridesmaid in one of my closest friends wedding. When the dress arrived, I couldn't wait to try it on! Only to find the bunching in the front was completely wrong and seriously unflattering.
