Dropped a pair of pants off to be hemmed. Price was fair and was completed very quickly! Would definitely return

I had a very strange experience at this business, and based on that experience, I will never go…read morehere again, and I would not recommend any family, friends, or strangers to go here. I searched far-and-wide for a tailor that interested me. I settled on Scafidi Tailoring because the brand appealed to me - it seemed like a classic, traditional place and I imagined the tailor would be extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I got my first proper, quality suit recently and don't really know anything about how clothes like that "should" fit, so I was really seeking guidance and advice from a master. That's what I was hoping to get. So, I called to confirm their hours and see if they could do what I wanted. What I wanted was simple: The new suit just got delivered the previous day, so I just wanted the suit to be adjusted and tailored to my body shape. On the phone, they said "Sure, come on by." So I took time off work, got cleaned up and dressed in my best clothing, and drove 30 minutes to the shop. Upon arrival, the gentleman looked at the suit I brought, aggressively pulled the pants out from the hangar, and said "Start with this." So I changed into the pants, went out, and he said "Fine, it looks fine." I said "It's a bit tight here by the thighs." He said "There's nothing I can do about that." I said "Ok, any advice? Is it a risk or could a hole appear?" He said "Sure, it's a risk." The conversation about the pants ended there. No advice, no measurements, no anything. Then I put the suit jacket on. "Fine, it looks fine" he said. I said "Is there anything that should be adjusted?" He said "You can do whatever you want. People want different things." I said "I don't really know what I want, other than for the suit to fit the ideal/proper way." He said "It's fine." The conversation about the jacket ended there. No advice, no measurements, no anything. By this point, I was still in a state of shock that the conversation went like this, so I said "Could I look at the ties?" Suddenly, he became very interested and looked excited to possibly sell a tie. I said "How much do these run?" They were $200. To be polite, I said I'd take a picture of the tie wall to spend some more time making a decision later, but what REALLY happened is that the shock ended in that moment and there was NO way I was going to spend $200 on a single tie at this place. No way. So, I left. Very upset. When I got in my car, I looked up tailors nearby, and ended up going to one that I'd been to before, 25 minutes away (Peter's Tailor Shop in University Heights). The woman was extremely nice and knowledgeable. She took the pants and the shirt for some adjustments, and suggested some adjustments for the jacket. What a night-and-day difference. I understand that Mr. Scafidi primarily does custom suit and shirt-making. Perhaps I'm not the ideal customer. Fine. But why even invite me then? Do better.

Screw this place. They may be great(don't know....) Called…read moresaying I needed some work done on some jackets and pants, woman on the phone said it wouldn't be a problem. When I get the Joseph denies me.. Says they are too busy. I'm young have a shaved head, tattoos, but I make very good money, and these were not even remotely cheap clothes... Screw this place..
