we really, really, needed a hepa fiiter for our very, very, old Kenmore upright vacuum cleaner…read more we went to the big box hardware store across the parking lot from costco and a very nice lady at the flooring desk directed us to City Vacuum & Sewing Center. literally, holding the hepa filter in my hand, we headed to the door. a gentleman exiting from his pickup followed us in. as we stared at the wall of vacuum filters another very nice lady asked if we needed help, and the gentleman said, "they need blah blah blah. i'll get it from the back room" !!! turns out the gentleman was the owner and he knew exactly what we needed just from seeing the filter in my hand as we walked in! we were in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. these guys are the real thing. oh, there are some high-powered sewing machines i presume is for quilting. highly recommended. they know what they are doing.

PrintWest put the extra time and attention into my job - who could ask for more? The final product had a really cool finish, and the colors "wow" all my clients who get these marketing pieces! I run a company that does communication work with nonprofits that serve impoverished and marginalized people in the US and around the world. We recently worked with PrintWest on a print and mail job (mailing small packets to hundreds of US locations). This was time sensitive so we repeatedly asked for first-class mailing and reiterated our condensed time frame. When it came time to do the mailing, our PrintWest rep chose to use a cheaper mailing method - despite our previous asks about first-class service and timing. Packets did not get to the recipients on time, and our client relationship was severely strained. That's bad. What's worse is that I confronted our sales rep Greg about this several times via telephone and email. I requested a refund of the mailing costs only (print job and costs were fine), since we should not have to pay to have our client relationships strained by the mistakes of a vendor. I've never received a response on my repeated requests - not a "absolutely let's make this work for you" or we're working on it" or a "we can't do it and here's way." Just radio silence. This is no way to treat loyal customers. I still think that PrintWest does a good job printing, and they're Seattle local and usually easy to work with. But apparently if they mess up, they're not willing to take responsibility or even respond to inquiries. That's enough for me to be done.

After that, no instructors were available to teach on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Uncertified members are not allowed to use 3D printers unsupervised. Certifications are only done on Sundays (one of my work days). Jeremy Hanson replied that for a $50 fee, an instructor could come in on one of my days off from work. On the last day of my work week, I had to isolate due to Covid Omicron. When my doctor cleared me to return to work, I followed up with Jeremy but got no response to either of 2 e-mails I sent. I also contacted contact@seattlemakers.org and got no response. I can't say I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Had mother in laws scooter quit working. Called them on a Wednesday. Very nice girl answered and we spoke. She said yes, bring it in, no problem. I arrived and she again was very nice. She brought out a guy. He also was very nice. Tagged it and gave me a claim ticket. Simply called in on Friday just to check in. Got completely chewed out by a very rude lady. She wanted to know why I would bring in a scooter for repair. We don't do that ! She went on and on and was a real bit** about it. Then a guy got on the phone and was also not very nice, but not as bad as the rude lady. I just went and picked it back up. Hey, I called and asked. I was told to bring it in, why would you talk to me like that two days later ? Simply rude. The first girl and guy very nice on phone and in person. The guy and lady on Friday need new jobs if they hate working there. Just rude. What EXACTLY did I do wrong lady ? In my mind, it's pretty simple, if you didn't want to work on it or if you don't work on them, simply just tell me that when I called on the phone instead of saying, sure no problem bring it in and we'll look at it for you.
