Jamie W and I could've stayed here longer and taken advantage of their Latin-style tapas menu. But alas, this is Paris, and temptations abound everywhere in the City of Lights. It was purely an accident that we ended up on the rooftop here. Funny thing is that it's located in the heart of the gay district in the Marais, yet there wasn't a rainbow connection to be found here. We were actually looking for a restroom in the mammoth BHV Marais department store and found one on the 6th floor where this bar resides.
As it so happened, the hostess for this bar beckoned with her cheery personality, and then all of a sudden, we were seated at a rooftop table with a spectacular view of the Hotel del Ville. It struck us as a family-friendly space with kids everywhere. That didn't hinder us from ordering a couple of cocktails with a touch of tiki. We both had the 16€ Mikuna Mule, a surprising softball of a libation with vodka, pisco, ginger, and lime (Photo). It didn't have enough of a kick for us to stick around for a second round.
DRINKS - 3 stars...rather diluted as the mule had no kick
AMBIANCE - 4 stars...stay for the view
SERVICE - 3 stars...automatic pilot
TOTAL - 3 stars...there are better bars but not with the same view
