This place really needs to work on their customer service. I had a groupon where I made an appointment for 9am. I was running a little late and tried to call to give a heads up but no one answered. So I just went. I was about 15 minutes late. I had an appointment with a girl named Ashley. When I arrived she was already working on someone else. Which leads me to believe they double booked. But when I got there they were going to give me to someone else which I was fine with. However, Ashley came out and said to me she can only do a half hour because she had other clients. I paid for an hour, so Ofcourse I wasn't going to take that. I apologized for being late and let them know I did call but no one answered. This was met with a lot of attitude from her where she told me she has other clients and would only do a half hour. I'm not sure why she decided to come out and say this since I was already going to be seen by someone else. I let them know I paid for an hour so therefore that is what I will take. She said I could reschedule. I declined because I wasn't a fan of the attitude of that specific beautician. I'm not sure what the issue was but I would not recommend this place because their customer service is terrible they don't know how to talk to customers. they made me feel uncomfortable to be there like I didn't belong there. I wish I could speak about their services but the initial vibe made me feel like I don't want to do business with a place that has such poor customer service. They never got back to me! The day of the appointment I was 3 mins late and the lady at the front (not Kamila) was super rude! She said she had undone my 'room' and hadn't expected me to come??? I was 3 mins late. She asked me to reschedule for a month and half later when the owner would arrive or I would lose my money! The place was wreaking of a chemical smell. I called and spoke to Noelle , she was wonderful, gave me an appointment for this afternoon with Lauren. Wonderful experience!!!!! Lauren was great. Noelle is very sweet. She gave me directions and parking info on the phone, she even moved my car into one of their spots so I wouldn't have to go back out in the rain!!!!. I loved the place!!!! Very calming environment, My facial was fantastic, I have dry sensitive skin which Lauren recognized right away she used organic products , my skin feels soft and looks great. I would not recommend this place at all for waxing. I went for a simple eyebrow wax and walked out with wax still stuck around my eyebrows (I have had my eyebrows waxed plenty of times and this is the first time this happened...). At the end, my eyebrows were very uneven when I asked to keep them the same thickness (they were even when I walked in). The woman offered to fix them but I didn't want her to thin out my other eyebrow anymore than it was. I had such a pleasant experience at Terra Spa on Tuesday with Lauren. She did an outstanding eyelash application on me and they look amazing. She was kind and very patient for this application took about an hour for the full lash. But the ambience and music along with her demeanor made me so relaxed that I dozed off. This review is for Ashley, the aesthetician. I had a Brazilian service done and she was gentle, thorough, and as pain less as possible. I'd recommend her for any waxing service. She's great! The room is part of a hair salon so it's in another part of the building. It's a quiet place and I loved that Ashley did not double dip. Believe me, I've been to some places that had some gross practices. My only issue was that I had been calling multiple times on a Friday, each hour. I was annoying but I really wanted to book my appointment and I didn't want to head to the salon if it was closed already for the holiday weekend. I left messages all day and still didn't hear back. Finally, on Saturday, I walked into the salon in person and the receptionist told me that she was there on Friday and the phones weren't ringing. That was kind of annoying but Ashley more than made up for that poor experience. read more

I recently went to Terra Spa because I purchased a Groupon. The services was horrible, I was told to sit in a back room. I girl started to talk to me about what type of eyelashes I wanted... I had not idea she was Ashley who would be doing my extensions. She never introduced herself. When her client before me was finished, she informed me she just needed to get the room ready for me (which was about the size of a closet.) When she was ready for me she called out from the room to say I'm ready you can come in. She never closed the door, which was very strange, her hands smelt like cigarettes too. She was very rushed and kept saying she can do my lashes in under an hour. She never put gloves on or washed her hands that I noticed. She was extremely rough during the whole appointment. When she finished, my bottom lashes were stuck to the top. She had to use the tweezer to separate them. I was informed by her that it was very common... this never happened to me before. The only pleasant part of this was when I paid the bill and the receptionist didn't ask me if I wanted to book another appointment. After I got home I had eyelashes falling off and some were even sticking in my eyes. I had to drive home with one hand over my right eye as I could feel the lashes in my eye. They do look good now; once I removed all the strays, but would not want to experience this salon again. read more

Wanted to share some recent experiences I had at Terra Spa using half-off promotions. This winter with all the snow shoveling and exercise classes, my back felt twisted in knots with ongoing pain/soreness. One deep massage session with Karen fixed that! I've gone to at least a dozen different massage therapists and she is THE BEST. She's friendly but quiet (chats in the beginning but then is silent as she focuses on the massage...wish all therapists were like that!!) and had a strong expert touch, immediately targeting the knots but also knowing how to do gentle motions for relaxation. She worked the entire body including hands, feet, face, neck, and scalp. The massage bed was heated and she used hot towels here and there, which felt wonderful. I felt SO relaxed and amazing that I didn't even mind at one point hearing some customers/staff talking loudly, making noise outside the door (which usually irks me). I also had a facial with Lenore; I've had numerous facials and she rated highly. She was quiet and very attentive and I was surprised by all the massage time (usually facials just offer hand massage). One thing that annoys me during facials is when they put a mask on you and then leave the room for 10-15 minutes. Lenore stayed in the room after putting on a first mask and gave me a wonderful hand/arm/shoulder massage. Towards the end though she put on another mask/or cream solution(?) and left the room for about 10 minutes but I guess the important thing was that I noticed a big difference in my skin texture (much smoother and younger looking) for almost a week after. I'll definitely be coming back here but my big advice at any spa: ***Make sure you get a quoted price on the service and confirm it again BEFORE your treatment so there are no surprises. During the treatment, if you're offered extra masks, massages, or eye treatments, ask if there's additional charge. I had booked an appt for a half-off signature facial ($37, originally $75), quoted the $37 price on the phone and wrote it in my calendar, but Lenore didn't have record of this discount so she charged me $100 (she had asked if I wanted a retexturizing mask to help my dryness and I said sure, not realizing there was a $25 extra charge); when I argued this price because of the half-off promotion, she suggested I had forgotten to mention it on the phone (which I know I didn't since I'm anal and had recorded the price in my calendar after verbally confirming it). Anyway, my end price was $62 without tip ($37 + $25 mask). Overall I was very satisfied with the facial but vowed to be more careful with pricing next time. read more

I had a facial at Terra Spa this past weekend that exceeded my expectations. Lauren was my Esthetician and she is awesome! I have had many facials and have had various Estheticians point out the broken capillary on my chin (that they don't touch). Well Lauren did, and whatever it was or what she did made it healed immediately! Moreover, when I say I get many facials, I mean like every month from top places in Boston. I give the facial 5-Stars, but I had to take off a point for the atmosphere. The spa area of the shop is a little crammed and seems like an afterthought to the salon. I also arrived early for my appointment and just found myself wandering around and not feeling overly comfortable. Services were great, but if you're looking for other spa amenities like steam room, shower etc.. you will not find it here. read more

Got my lashes done here and thought they were very unprofessional. It doesn't exactly feel great when the lady doing your lashes is telling you a 10 minute story about how she "hates doing lashes" and was really bad at it for a while. The final results were only okay...there are much better places to get lash extensions than this. Would not recommend. read more

I cannot find one reason to even give one star as a rating for this place. I gifted two Groupons I purchased for facials for my two daughters as a treat. Well from the onset they tried to 'push' them to buy additional treatments implying the one they were scheduled for was not sufficient for their respective skin types. They left scars on both girls from removing blackheads -- when I met them after the appointment their were many red swollen bumps and two days later, scars! The manager gave me a card suggesting I follow up with an appointment. Well, initially i thought that would happen but as someone who has had many facials in the Boston area, I would warn anyone to stay away from this establishment! read more

I hate to do this, but what just happened is unacceptable. I've been here once for a massage and it was wonderful... Very nice facility, though the treatment room was a little hot. It was the middle of summer and I was the first appointment so I understood the place hadn't had a chance to cool down yet. The massage therapist was wonderful; I believe her name was Nicole. At the time I booked for my first appointment, I also booked my second, since I had two BuyWithMe certificates and I knew they were very popular, so I wanted to book far ahead. I have chronic back problems so I schedule regular massages and I've learned that I have to book far ahead if I want to get appointment times that actually work with my chaotic schedule. So, I did that. Fast forward several months. My back has been quite painful lately and I've been really looking forward to this massage. My appointment is supposedly in 30 minutes and I haven't received a confirmation call. So I call them. They have no record of me. Seriously? I'm glad I didn't waste my time and money driving there. My voucher is supposed to expire in two weeks, but I thought that was no problem since I booked months ago. The woman I spoke to was very nice and said they'd honor it indefinitely, which is very nice (if they actually do) but does nothing for my incredibly knotted and achy back right now. It also doesn't change the fact that this messes up my carefully planned schedule of massages (and obviously, my schedule for today). She explained that the appointment was probably booked by a receptionist they'd had some trouble with who no longer works there. Very, very frustrating. After my first experience, I would have given them at least 4 stars. Now I'm debating between one and two. Completely unacceptable. UPDATE: They did eventually reschedule me and the massage was OK. Ouch, I went in for a bikini, half Brazilian wax today. I came home with a huge bruise that is so sore, I can't even sit down. I am also covered in wax. I don't know how I am going to get it off. The girl who did my waxing had NO idea how to do it. She did okay on the eyebrow and lip. Told me that she gets hot and sweaty when she does the bikini area. That was real nice to know! I bought a Groupon and I feel so jipped. The place was so underwhelming and I didn't even get a massage. I handed over my Groupon and left. My experience went like this --- A friend and I purchased Groupons. I called to make appointments for us both - two massages to take place at the SAME time. I booked over 6 weeks in advance. Upon arrival, I was immediately underwhelmed. It looks like a neighborhood salon/spa. The "spa" is in the back of the salon with products lining the walls. The products looked like they have been there for years. We were seated and that is when we found out that the appointments were not coinciding - they were back-to-back. Oh joy! Now I get to wait for my friend for a whole 60 mins. I was not offered a drink of water throughout that time. Instead, I had the pleasure of being in the company of 2 very chatty teenagers, who like talked like this, like ALL the time. They had no concept of an "indoor voice" and talked freely and gossiped as if I were not there at all. It should be noted that the reception area was in the middle of all the massage rooms. I can't imagine that guests did not hear their entire conversation. A little while later, their mom came to join them. This part was fun as I got to witness a full-on argument between mom and teen daughters. If there was ever a moment of awkward-wish-I-weren't-here, that would've been it. 55 mins passed and still not one employee asked if I was ok or offered me a beverage. By the time my friend was done with her massage, I told her that we had to leave. I just wanted to get out of that place that badly. I gave my Groupon to the front desk to avoid any attempts at cancellation charges and got out of dodge. I pretty much paid $30 to sit in an empty, old reception room for 60 mins. Fun! This past Tuesday, I has a day off and called in the morning on the off chance they had some availability, and they did anytime I picked. I scheduled for 11:30. I checked in and the woman asked me to wait in the waiting area. A few minutes later, a man came over to tell me that one of the nail techs called in sick that morning so no one can take me, could I come in the next day. I asked if it was typical to not call someone before she came in an occurrance like this and was told that their computer system just crashed. Lots of excuses and no pedi. read more
