Long queues and wait times can be frustrating, detracting from the overall shopping experience. Additionally, the absence of attractive offers or discounts diminishes the appeal for bargain hunters. Thou they occasionally provide great offers but those are mostly clearance offers towards season end. Despite these drawbacks, Terra Greenhouse remains a go-to destination for plant lovers.. I re-decorated my bedroom last summer and as a final touch I wanted to add a snake plant. My friend and I went to Terra to finally become plant mamas. The snake plant options seemed endless. These plants are known to keep the air clean and are easy to care for - two absolute wins in my book. I was able to not only find a plant to take home, but also a trendy planter that matched my new bedroom decor. The best part was that an employee was kind enough to offer to pot it for us. There was a small fee for this (under $10), but it was worth it because I am not the most educated when it comes to that kind of thing. The employee was also very transparent with us when we asked if she could ensure the plant was in a healthy state, it was :). Happy to report my plant is alive and thriving! We recently visited Terra Milton during the winter festival. They're actually open all year round but because it's a green house, most people think it's closed in the winter. This festival completely blew my expectations out of the water. There were food vendors, vendors who hand crafted jewelery, health and wellness products and even live music. There was also an area for children as well as an area where patrons can sit and enjoy the food for purchase. There were so many food samples though so there was plenty to eat. The variety ranged from middle Eastern Sandwiches to Italian meats to even a booth for Tibetan food. The festival is open from January 12th till March 30th every Saturdays and I definately look forward to visiting it again this winter. I will be sure to bring cash though because some vendors only took cash. I am also excited to shop the actual Terra store because there were so many plant pots and garden accessories at affordable prices as well. I was also surprised at how on trend the items were. I always assumed this store was more of a warehouse for other vendors but this place is great for domestic as well! read more

We got poinsettias for a fundraiser from Terra. They were beautiful and healthy, and lasted much longer than we expected. The staff was very helpful and co-operative. We would definitely use them again! read more

I thought this was a pretty nice garden centre...that I didn't even know existed! The selection is quite vast and there was also an impressive display of seasonal decor items for Christmas, ranging from pre-decorated trees in an array of colours to ornaments to place settings. So it's not only plants here! They also had a heated green house that had a collection of orchids. Nothing too crazy, but they still carried them this time of year. read more

This is a beautiful garden center and there is almost nothing you wouldn't be able to find here. I always come here year after year for the hanging baskets in the late spring, always perfect timing for mother's day! Just beautiful, you can find hanging baskets anywhere from $30.- to $100.- but let me tell you those $30.- baskets beat the Grocery Store baskets any day!! If I would have the money I would only be coming here but it's not for everyone's wallet. read more

A great surreal experience if you are into gardening. Terra has it all under the same roof and a very friendly, welcoming staff.

Staff were clueless, arrogant & rude. Their pick-up system is...well they don't have one. Online order pick-up was very disorganized and chaotic. I placed an order a week ago for pick up today at 9am. I arrived at 9am and discovered that the building was actually open to the public. To my excitement, I quickly lined up to go inside. Once inside, I asked a staff member where I should go to pick up my order, and she said I would have to drive to the pick up location outside. Instead of going back to my car and then lining up again, I decided to browse their collection to see if I can find something else to purchase in addition to the stuff I am picking up. Around 10:30am, I exited the building and drove my car to the pick up area. It took 5 minutes for someone to come out and note my order number. Ok - no big deal. However, in the next 10 minutes, 2 staff members came by to ask if someone had already taken down my order number. I said yes both times, but this made me doubt that anyone is even looking after my order. 10 more minutes later, still no order. I watched staff members frantically pace back and forth yelling at each other, bringing out people's orders and returning it back, or leaving it at random areas unattended. They were visibly confused and lost. Then I saw multiple cars behind me leave with their orders, even though I had arrived there first. I followed up with the staff and asked how come other people behind me have left and I still don't have my order. One man replied sternly, "we are very busy. you have got to be patient with us right now. We are just handing out the orders based on which ever plants we find first". This upset me because it was not fair. When I said this, they kept saying they are busy. They could not even give me an ETA. How long were they supposed to take to find my order? Could have taken hours, if they found it at all! All garden centres are very busy at this time but other places are prepared & organized, unlike here. The most upsetting part is, when I made this comparison, the staff threatened to refund and cancel my order. One man said "well if you do not like it here, go somewhere else". What about the inconvenience of waiting a week to pick up this order? The time and effort I spent to drive an hour to this place? A refund was not a solution and in fact would have worsened the situation. In addition, two of the staff told me that it is taking longer because I did not arrive on time at 9am (oh, so it is my fault now). I don't even know what the point of that statement is because it was already 10:30am, and my order was still not ready! What more if I actually drove by as soon as I arrived, at 9am? Would I have to wait 1.5 hours to get my order?? These people have zero customer service skills. With the current economic situation, I have made the commitment to purchase only from Ontario garden centres and not from big chain companies like Home Depot, Lowes, etc. to support Ontario business owners, however this place (and also Sheridan, but that is a different story) has made me regret that decision. I accompanied my father when he purchased his plants from our nearby Home Depot, and he was treated with excellent service. The staff were kind, knowledgeable, answered all of his gardening questions (as he is a beginner), order pick up was quick, easy, and breezy. Not to mention prices are cheaper for the same kind of plants! In contrast, the staff at this place could not even point to us correctly where in the building indoor vs. outdoor plants are, or even where the washroom is! What a complete disaster. Up to this day, I thought people who care for plants have a higher capacity to be kind, gentle, and compassionate. As it turns out, Terra Milton has no standard in the type of people they hire -- a bunch of man-child workers with poor work ethic and no grasp of any kind of training are apparently good enough. It is such a shame because I came to this place after seeing stellar online reviews. When told that this experience is going to lead to me giving them a bad review, one of the younger staff members openly bragged to "go ahead" as they "are a well respected gardening centre" and that "many people know this". Hilarious. I hope one day he looks back and realizes how pathetic that statement was. I guess maybe Terra Milton was great until they hired these fools. I have come to realize that those positive reviews are most likely old or fake, as none of the positive comments I read online were reflected in the service I received from this place today. read more

Buyer Beware. After years of buying here (spending who knows how many $$$$) I took back a $44.99 palm tree today that died after just a few weeks. Because I didn't have the receipt - and even though they had the purchase tied to my 'Loyalty" Card - they said "We can't do anything - our policy is the paper receipt and you don't have it." When I said that if that was the best they could do I would take my business in future elsewhere I was given a basic shrug..basically "oh well" - I guess with the pandemic business is just great anyway and mine doesn't matter - sad way to operate a business though...I can say as a business owner myself that the $44.99 "savings" (at retail price) they just made sending me back with my dead plant will turn into $4499 in lost revenue in the coming years. Dissapointing. Beautiful store, but basic greed and poor management will send me elsewhere in future. I don't need my "Daisy Loyalty Card" anymore... read more

While there is a Terra is Vaughan (Keele north of Kirby), I will do the drive to Milton to visit this store. The place is huge and divided into sections that make sense, so shopping is easier. Their pond/fountain selections is amongst the largest I've seen. Indoor shopping area is massive (compared to the tiny one in Vaughan) and they have one of the best selections of Crocs out there (not those god awful plastic Crocs that have the holes in them...but canvas ones...although I do have a pair of those god awful plastic ones as well) I always make it a point to come here for end of season sales. Prices are amazing and I've never had a problem with any plant I've purchased here. The one in Vaughan is great as well....this one is probably 3 times as large, if not larger read more

Love love love Terra Greenhouses In Milton. This location has a pond department and the manager (Judy) is just awesome. If you want a specific type of koi ... let Judy know and she will order it for you ... want a specific colour of waterlilly ... Judy will order it for you too. Every year it has a 40%-50%-60% sale at the beginning of July so great time to get plants on sale. read more
