Cons- Their website lies and says they make their pasta fresh, in house, daily (see attached pic). The waitress just about laughed in my face when I tried confirming this claim. Charging $35-40 a plate for boxed pasta is criminal! That does not include any complimentary bread and butter or a side salad-nothing! $18 for kids meals, like basic spaghetti and meatball! The stuffed bread had one layer of pepperoni and cheese rolled up in it. It wasn't exactly "stuffed". My Chicken and Broccoli Romano was swimming in soup. They didn't reduce the broth mixture into a sauce at all. I've had better dishes at Applebee's, if I'm being honest. And if you want any Parmesan to top off your dish, you are getting cheese from a shaker. They do not have freshly grated. Even Olive Garden offers that! Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere. You can get much higher quality food for this price (or less) at other local restaurants.

First I ordered a meal that didn't come out right and then the right one supposedly came back out, and most of the people at our table were hurt. He finished their meals, it still wasn't right, but I ate a little tiny bit of it and brought it home. I will not be eating it. My husband ordered a dish that he orders all the time was too sick to eat it here, so he brought it home. We are here now tonight the next day. He is having his meal his left overs. Let me also say we ordered the bread which we love and it was stale, no mold, but you could tell it was stale and everybody else in the party was hungry so we just joked about it and still ate it. Now back to February 16, my husband is heating up his dinner eats it and within an hour. He's in the bathroom to the point where he didn't make it to the bathroom, we will be giving this place a break for awhile. I don't know if it was they ran out of food after Valentine's Day, milk and cheese are bad. None of the regular weight staff were there that were used to seeing, things were just a mess the whole meal but if you're gonna be spending $30-$40 for dinner apiece for a pasta dish the food better be good, and if I'm paying for bread, it better be fresh.

The staff is amazingly friendly, which took this review from 3 stars to 4! The dining room is neat and tidy, albeit a little tired. But we enjoyed seeing the old photos of Saco on the wall and the old tin ceiling. Our meals were pretty good, all in all. I was hoping for a little more flavor in the meatball and the lasagna, however. My partner enjoyed the eggplant parmesan and told me it was perfectly cooked. The bar looked pretty well appointed, too. I'd say it's a good place, but maybe not a great place.

The staff was incredible -- we were running late and arrived right before they closed, and they didn't turn us away. We enjoyed our meal and were the last ones dining; they didn't make us feel rushed. The staff really was incredible. The food was great! Their American-Italian menu had it all: baked ziti, lemon pasta, meats and fish, pretty much everything. We ate family-style and shared the food, and everything was absolutely delicious. The lemon pasta with grilled chicken was hands down my favorite! Also, they had plenty of affordable wines. We got a good Chianti bottle for a little over $30. Traditions is a no-frills Italian joint, and that's precisely what we loved about it.

Our waitress, Hannah was absolutely incredible - quick, friendly and gave great advice. The entire staff was very helpful and cleared our plates, and brought our food and drinks quickly. The food was stellar- and don't think you can really go wrong with anything on the menu. Would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Portland.

Via Vecchia was definitely worth the wait, and this was one of the most surprising restaurants during our trip. We ordered the brussel sprouts, grilled octopus, campanelle, and radiatori. The brussel sprouts was the one dish that I was most hesitant about, seeing that it was paired with a blueberry agrodolce. Not a typical combination, but this ended up being a favorite. The sweetness & tartness of the sauce worked SO well with the sprouts - it's an excellent dish. The octopus had the perfect char, and all of the flavor pairings were really cohesive. I had never heard of either of the pastas, but I loved the textures of both. The campanelle with nduja cream was delicious, but did get to be a little heavy about halfway through. Radiatori with bolognese was a classic but well executed dish. Service is attentive without being overbearing. Prices are super reasonable.

This time my husband and I brought a friend with us, which meant more sharing and trying a lot more of the menu. We started with the kale salad and the gnudi pasta, with the latter being the star of the night. The kale salad was delicious, incredibly light and refreshing. We accompanied these with some aperitifs from the never-ending and impressive cocktail menu. The gnudi pasta was listed as a main, but it made for an incredible app. For dinner, I ordered the tagliatelle, which was divine. My friend's rigatoni may have been the best out of all of the entrees, though. It was phenomenal. We finished our meal with dessert. It was this almond and fruit cake that was delish, although the dessert menu was a bit limited for what I expected. As always, the ambiance is just lovely. The dimly lit vibes make for a romantic and cozy time, especially during the winter. Our server was thoughtful and attentive and had great wine recs!
