I'm so impressed by this place! I absolutely love everything about it. You can find all sorts of original pieces here to complement your home or apartment. Tables, bookshelves, artsy odds and ends, and even pieces for the backyard. I saw (and played with!) an amazing seesaw that was beautifully crafted out of wrought iron and wood. Nearby, I saw what was probably the most gorgeous bookshelf-with-rolling-ladder combination that I've ever seen. Amazing live edge tables were sprinkled about, each one gorgeous and unique. I particularly liked one with a fiery gas-powered centrepiece. I wish I had unlimited funding to come here and furnish my entire place. At the very least, though, I want to let you know about it. Service here was great. No hard sales, but someone came over and chit-chatted with me for a bit and offered her help. She even told me how to get on the seesaw without killing myself in the process. Thanks for that! :D It's in a bit of an odd location so you're not likely to randomly drive by it. Do yourself a favour and stop by. I doubt you will be disappointed. read more

WOW. We have a lovely home with a modern kitchen and I can honestly say that our new walnut slab table is the nicest thing that we own. It is so beautiful, it is a living piece of art. Working with Terra Amico was easy. They are helpful, kind and professional but mostly importantly they are talented artisans. The table is so unique and classy. They worked hard to get the perfect legs for us. If you are thinking of using them, go for it. It was a pleasure working with them and our table is truly outstanding. When our guests notice the table, they stop mid sentence and rush over to see it. The table is so smooth and the edge is so edgy. It is exactly what we were looking for. In the photo below, we don't have our leather chairs yet but the table rocks! read more

Stumbled in there from the adjacent brewery while looking for bathroom. They custom made me a killer dining table, way better looking than restoration and way cheaper. I stopped here for a magic show event. I wasn't expecting a show room I wasn't really sure what businesses occupied the building other then Good Karma Bikes & Hapas. There are a variety of things always going on in the showroom. From workshops to cool mini events like the magic show we attended. The showroom is filled with really cool unique pieces. The surrounding shops are really cool too. read more

This is simply the coolest spot to join the south bay. If you watch Fixer Upper and are a fan of all things Joanna Gaines, you will walk in here and be immediately obsessed. This place specializes in furniture / home decor pieces. I bought this incredible coffee table from them that is made of a wine barrel and flavor sticks. Such a unique piece and really is a wonderful addition to our home. They have pretty much everything here in terms of furniture (beds, tables, etc) and it is all made of recycled materials. So cool! They also do custom made pieces, so I'm looking forward to working with them in the future to get some shelving made out of reclaimed wood. read more

Found Terra Amico through craigslist while searching for a used Emmerson dinning table from West Elm. Their listing read that they could build any comparable furniture for the same price with reclaimed wood. I contacted them and dealt with Lisa exclusively through email. I sent her the custom dimensions I wanted and several inspirational photos of my dream dinning table and bench. Luckily for me there was a photo of a table in their gallery that was close to what I was looking for. My wife and I visited their workshop twice to meet with Joe, once to see the furniture they had on site they've created for other customers and once to hash out the final design. Their policy is that there is no down payment. If you don't like it for any reason then you don't have to purchase it, they are confident they can sell it to someone else. I can't see this ever happening unless there was buyers remorse or the vision wasn't communicated thoroughly. I communicated to Joe that I liked big blocks of wood and wanted my dining table to look bulky and that's exactly what I got. I got a table with 2.5" thick top and 6 x 6 legs. In terms of pricing, it's reasonably priced for custom made furniture. I requested custom dimensions that I couldn't find anywhere else. It's a few hundred more compared to a contemporary furniture store but the quality and materials are unmatched. I knew I was buying a set of furniture that would last a lifetime. Also having cats in the house, even if their nails dig in, the damages will still go along with the reclaimed wood look. The turn around time was about a week for us but it seemed a lot shorter. Before we thought about it again, Lisa contacted us to say the table and bench were ready for delivery. read more

I love this place. Too many cool pieces to see and the hard working craftsman they have there is just as impressive as the rustic items they offer. We got an industrial farm table and tall cabinet and they flow very well in our small home. Likely the only folks with a 8ft farm table and 700 sqFT home. This is a place you must check out even if just to admire the detail and craftsmanship of the furniture and awesome people working there. read more

This place is great on so many levels. First off, I love all of the woodwork, from the furniture to the accessories. Second, the space itself is open and feels comfortable, welcoming. Third, they offer some very cool classes, one of which I attended this last Friday. That's what I want to write about here. I saw a class for Linoleum Block Printing, which piqued my interest, so I signed up for it. I got an email a few days later (but at least a week before the class was scheduled), telling me that the class was supposed to have been offered on that Saturday instead of Friday, but the instructor said that she would teach the class even if it was just me. So nice! :) She went on to say that if I wanted to bring anyone, to just let her know how many people were coming so she could make sure there were enough supplies. When I arrived, I was greeted by Nancy, who was really gracious and sweet! We had a good chat while she settled me in for the class. The teacher, Jen, was wonderful. She was helpful and awesome to chat with. I had a blast learning how to create my stamp and talking with her about... well... everything. It was the highlight of my month, actually. Such a great experience -- I'm now hooked on linoleum//rubber block printing. I'm investing in inks and look forward to creating my own paper goods and printed fabric creations! And will definitely be going back again, real soon. read more

Review Time ! OMG i just adore this type of store .... customized wood furnishings and other hand made items etc ... YUP .. velvet silk pillows ! Jen is a GEM ... she was so kind as was the rest of the staff - I came back the following day to pick up all the items I had purchased. They also have a free magic show for kids & adults of course, every other saturday .... from 2:00 - 2:30 . pretty cool and fun to watch ! read more

I researched rustic reclaimed wood furniture for months before stumbling upon Joe's work on Craigslist. After another month of deliberation, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a custom dining table. This was a year ago and I couldn't be happier. This table was significantly cheaper than any of the big name places and online specialty shops, and I believe the quality is similar or better. I have gotten a ton of compliments on it and plan to hang onto this piece for many years to come. For those of you who have been eyeing something, email Joe and see what he can create...I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

As an interior designer, I've worked with Terra Amico on various custom furniture pieces for both commercial and residential projects and have enjoyed partnering with them to bring our designs to life. This place is amazing. Beautiful and affordable custom made and reclaimed furniture abounds in their workshop. Better yet, they will custom make any furniture based on your own designs and dimensions. Even better yet? It's right next to one of my favorite breweries in the San Jose area (Hapa's). Can't say enough great things about the quality, craftsmanship, variety, and people of this studio. read more

Joe and Lisa deserve every bit of a 5 star review! My wife and I asked Joe to build us a kitchen peninsula after seeing the great items from Terra Amico at San Pedro Market in downtown San Jose. We could not be more thrilled with the outcome! Wow! I scoured the internet for islands and peninsulas with features we liked, both style and function, and gave some images to Joe and Lisa. We made mesurements, met with Joe and discussed and the project began. What we received was perfect. It was exactly what we had discussed, it was beautifully made and it was on time. The wood is just beautiful and the construction is unique and of great quality. Thank you Joe and Lisa. What a fantastic addition to our home! read more

Loved the service Julian provided and please do not forget his name. The best yet. We've eaten at many great establishments but service means a lot as well as food. Many say food is most important and yes it is but service makes the experience memorable. He's honesty about his love of the food here is true to who he is. No I don't know this guy but I trusted his recommendations and he didn't disappoint. So if you've tried it once try it again. I love cooking but perfection means try and try again. read more

Lisa and Jo are cool people. We had a chance to meet them and see their place and got a tour. Tons of tables are being made! They had small dining table samples and finishes and stains you can choose from or you can design your own or show them a picture of what you want. They can do the look of Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn etc. The dining table and bench they made for us is really beautiful, it is the first thing that guests in our new place notice and ask about. They have big clients now like Google, Facebook etc so expect around 4-6 weeks before they deliver the order :) It is worth the wait! read more

We first met the Terra Amico team at their store and we loved their furniture. We went back when we needed a metallic structure for our back yard. The bid was very competitive and we ordered a table base in addition. The team went for measurement and were very professional. For the table base they push the professionalism to take the top I had done to fit it on the custom base. Installation was fast and well executed. The final result looks great! Very well executed job. I highly recommend them. read more

When we realized we'd be hosting Thanksgiving at an Ikea desk, Cary and I decided it was time to find a table. Not only would it have to pull out and stand up to semi-serious dining, it'd need to live most of its days tucked in an awkward, stove-side, visible-from-the-living-room void the designers of our apartment must've blocked out. So we ordered a custom table: counter-depth, table-height, and awkward-void-long, with several scrumptious colors of wood and those preciously named hairpin legs. Because we'd inquired in the thick of the holiday season and were willing to wait till the new year, by the time the table was delivered, I'd nearly forgotten we needed it. But, oh, the difference it makes! It fits so perfectly the wall behind it looks kinder in its constant hug. The range of colors in the tabletop's wood seem to catch and magnify the room's every neutral. The breadboard ends look cabin-y, friendly, and heartfelt. The ordering process (and for us it was a bit of a process what with the holiday season, the piece's hybrid purpose, and the separate ordering of metal legs) was engaging to the point of inspiring, and the end result? Painfully perfect. read more

Words can't possibly express how satisfied we are with our custom table and benches. We asked Joe to build us a table based on something we liked, but we weren't certain about all the details. While in my search for a unique yet functional dinner table, I stumbled into this rare furniture store.... I looked at a couple pieces, two ladies behind the counter, however, I was not worthy of a simple, "hello, welcome in, let us know if you have any questions" nothing, they kept staring and chit chatting, no other customers in the store, anyway, unfortunately my attention quickly went from the furniture to the cold unwelcome vibes from this two ladies. I decided to walk out instead, plenty of other places to look into, and no! I will not spend my hard earned money on a place with poor customer service, it's a shame...... This review is long overdue, but the admiration for my new dining room table will be everlasting. In short, I was in the market for a new dining room table and wanted a round, reclaimed wood table. Not only was l looking to be environmentally friendly, I love the raw, variegated look that reclaimed wood as to offer. Lisa and Joe heard my wants and saw a few pictures of my inspiration piece, and they delivered on all fronts. The table is seriously gorgeous and brings a lot of personality to my "cozy" dining room/family room combo. From ordering, to delivery (even after they experienced complete destruction of their shop), they succeeded on all fronts! I am very thankful . I constantly get asked where I got my table, and that, in my opinion is the ultimate compliment. I will go back to them in the future, and would recommend everyone else do the same. Quality work, good/fair prices, and great people! Not to mention I feel much better about giving my money to a hard working, family-owned business over the more mainstream options! read more

This review is long overdue. About 7 months ago, my wife and I met with Joe and Lisa at the shop. Very friendly, very professional, great customer service. This was also our experience with all the other people working there that we spoke with. We liked the styles and followed up with Lisa over email with our specifications for our dining room table. Here is where Terra Amico really stands out. When the table was first delivered, it was not exactly how we had wanted it to be (note to others - be very specific in your email request with details and good pictures of what you are looking for in a table / furniture). The delivery person called Joe, let him know that it was not quite what we wanted, Joe had them bring the table back and he refinished it to our specifications. No problems, no hassle. We also had a small blemish on the table, which he took care of without issue. I can't say enough about how good it was to work with Joe, Lisa and their people. Our table and bench look fantastic, are the perfect fit for our dining room, are sturdy and well built. We really enjoy having it in our home. read more

Terra Amico can truly do it all. I currently own four TA pieces of art/furniture (and am in the market for a dining table as well!) I started my Terra Amico journey with a queen bed frame made of an old barn. Re-stained, sanded, and finished. I've never gotten so many compliments. I then purchased a mango slab coffee table which is the centerpiece of my living room -- unbelievable quality. From there, Joe and Lisa's team custom created me a reclaimed wood picture frame and succulent wall. They are a pleasure to work with and I fully intend to continue our relationship. read more

Table started to deteriorate within six days of purchase. After repeated email with owner, five months later the table is still not fix. I asked for a refund because i think it was unacceptable. They said no on the refund because they would fix it for "lifetime" . I dont have five months to wait each time its broken. $3,000 down the drain. Very disappointed . I recommended this business to many of my friends... and it sad that they rather lose business and customers because of not wanting to give me a refund since i dont think their "outdoor" tables are actually for outdoors. Time to look for another place for my next wood furniture :( read more
