I am very disappointed in the scheduling and customer service of this South Windsor branch. There were so many issues with scheduling the appointment that I thought I might be filmed for a prank tv show. There is an extreme lack of care and organization. I told the person scheduling the appointment that I would not be there and the tech would meet my tenant. When the tech arrived he said he couldn't do the work because I needed to sign an additional paper. I was told I was called twice and didn't answer, however, I didn't miss any calls. On the contract, the date, my name, and my email address were all incorrect. When I was called to reschedule they said that they would be out for a termite inspection. I called them to spray for he bees! Best of all, I just got an email to review Terminix and then the survey said it couldn't be completed because someone had already filled it out. read more

The bad - deceptive marketing. Their salesman, Emilio, rode up my driveway on a segway. I had just got done mowing my lawn and was sitting on my zero turn. He was very pushy. I dropped hints for him to leave and he did not. Long story short he sold me. I signed up, and the first visit was scheduled. The good - the tech called to inform me of levels of service concerning rodent control. My plan called for basic 'sealing' of the house, which sounded ok. The tech informed me that that level does not completely seal the house. If I wanted that I would have to upgrade, and pay more, for total exclusion service. After hearing that I called the company right away and cancelled my contract. I applaud the tech, Gary Sawrun, for being open about the different levels of service. I admire his integrity. read more

Absolute WORST experience with this company!!! Called on Sunday made an appt. for Tuesday between 1-5 for a carpenter bee issue. Took the day off because it was going to be a sunny day so they could see the active bees to determine the species. No call or text so I reached out at 10am to ensure they were coming out. Representative tells me I don't have an appt. as it was listed as an inactive account, unbelievable!!! I took an entire day off of work for nothing. Spoke with a Supervisor who assured me she would look into the matter.... No call back!!! Called back 3 hours later and was told a branch manager would call me ..... again no call from a supervisor or a branch manager. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY!!! I called another company to make an appt. and they said they had a cancellation and came out in 20 minutes to resolve my problem!! read more

Terminex is a rip off! They took my money, 1.5K plus, and promised to resolve a squirrel and bat problem but it was totally ineffective. A squirrel got into my home and they wanted me to wait 2 weeks before they would send someone out. Beware! Do not pay for a contract service. They do not honor their contracts! read more

Horrible! Their salesman at the door told me the service is for $100 only. And they kept deducting money from my card monthly. When I inquired I was told - sorry but that's how the contract works which no one mentioned upfront ever. We called and they created a complaint ticket which no one looked at. Scammers. read more

Was told our appt was rescheduled without our knowledge for the next day,a day that we told them was unacceptable. Update: I feel it important to update my bad review for full transparency. I was in touch the Tim Green from the local branch who has dropped the ball in every opportunity he has been given. The company has continually broken trust by cont following through with their contract. I ended up getting the BBB involved and at that point they said they would refund me and it should take 3-5 days. It's been 20 days no refund... so now I'm working with my bank to dispute the charges. read more

If you need service DO NOT waste your time. We had requested a service for 8-10am, no inspector came. We called around 10:30am to get a status if they were still going to come by or not. The representative said no because they couldn't get ahold of the inspector on duty. The inspector reached out by text 3 hours later and they wanted to come by later in the day since they had a new trainee. We responded back and never got a response back from them. The representative we spoke to rescheduled us for Thursday 6-8pm no confirmation email once again. No contact from the inspector either. Just a big waste of time. Best advice find another company who will actually come out or at least reach out if they aren't able to make it to reschedule. read more

So disappointed in this local office. Similar story it seems to other reviews: the communication is abhorrent. Missed appointments, showing up to the house without an appointment, and to top it off they felt it was okay to finish a job at my home when I was not present, stating it was an "exterior job". True it was exterior but it was in my private yard past a gate. All of these issues would have been rectified with clearer communication but it seems it is impossible for this group to do so. When I needed some help with an inspection because of a difficult situation with a squatter and a Judge told me that I had unfettered access as a way to inconvenience my trespasser, Wayne, Carl, and their branch manager for western MA or the Berkshires would not help. It was not a dangerous situation, and they offered to do it after I got the squatter out. There's no way, I will ever call Terminix again. read more

Been a customer for 20 years and over the last several years have been prepaying for one year of service. This last year, after the last visit within the year timeframe, I received a bill for $35 because they had a price increase. I was never notified about the price increase and never agreed to pay extra for services. I didn't even ask for anything additional on any of my services - the tech just walked around the house, sprayed and left. When I called customer service, they said there was a price increase and nothing they could do. I cancelled service and will be looking for another company who is more customer service centered. read more

Our local service technician is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. However, the customer service is routed to a call center that is unresponsive, the agents not knowledgeable. It is virtually impossible to reach the local office with issues or requests for service outside of the set quarterly schedule. This is especially disappointing because we use an independently owned Terminix franchise for our home in another state and they are excellent. read more

The Windsor office has to be one of the worst businesses I've dealt with. You call the Terminix number and you get the general customer service desk. They tell you the office will call. They don't. I dealt with this issue when I was selling my home, I was a current customer at the time. No call backs but got calls from other Terminix offices with promises of call backs and that never happened either. People that bought my home want to continue the service. They have called multiple times again no call backs. Would never recommend Terminix to anyone based of the service from the Windsor CT office. read more

They still haven't gotten rid of the animals and they damaged my roof while trying and say they aren't responsible. They have a very high turnover rate and apparently aren't properly training the technicians. They rarely return phone calls. read more

No call! 6/27, call from Melissa(?)...."I'll be there Tuesday 6/29 in the afternoon". Told her "No, that won't work." Tuesday morning, call from Melissa(?) "Is it OK if I come early?" WTF??? NO!!! Call back in August!!! If you had come on June 12 like you were supposed to, this would be done. I'm having construction done in July and don't have time for your BS. I wish I would have read these reviews before booking them! My parents were there to meet the worker at the first visit. I started to notice spiders and mice 2 weeks after. I didn't think much of it. I personally met with the guy at the 2nd visit 3 months later (I got the yearly, comprehensive plan for total pest and rodent control. They're supposed to come quarterly). He showed up while I was speaking with my contractor so I asked him to start on the outside. He came back less than 5 minutes later. Now, this is a 10,000 s/f home. There's no way he could have done everything in 5 minutes. I then told him where the problem areas were inside the house and left him to it. Ten minutes later, he came to me with the invoice to sign. I told him he wasn't done. He still had half the house to do. I had to walk him throughout the rest of the house. He basically just sprayed the corners of the walls. I could have done that myself with a $5.99 can of bug spray I can get at CVS. He was also really creepy asking me if I knew "How long it takes to die". I said, "What do mean??". He said, "With the poison... How long do you think it takes to die? It takes 2 weeks. It isn't that just awful?". Now, I don't know about you, but to me, this was the start of any horror movie where the person of color would be the first to go (and then the pretty white girl with the big boobs). I told him he needed to leave right away. Good thing I had my contractor and his men downstairs. If you are a single person, especially a person of color or a pretty white girl with big boobs, I definitely would not book this company!!! What was even more upsetting was what came after. I called the corporate office to complain three times. The first two times, they said the local manager would call me to resolve the situation. No one ever called. The third time, they hung up on me after putting me on-hold for 20 minutes. These people really do not care about you. I contacted my credit card to retract both charges at that point, and I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Massachusetts Attorney General's office. Save yourself the trouble. You people deserve negative stars.It's absolutely disgusting how you people treat your customers. I hired terminex two months ago, paid them over $1000 upfront to perform a year service. The very first initial consultation appointment was canceled because they had nobody in my area that day.ok ,cool. we rescheduled. Appointment day came nobody called and even said that they were on their way they were supposed to be at my house anywhere from 10 to 12 PM.I called services manager . The technicians then called me and said that they were going to be an hour late. OK ,cool .....this is twice now but they were on their way and I was fine with that. third appointment, I made with the technicians on the day of the first service. no one called or showed up.so, I call the local branch the supervisor AMY was cunning,rude and not Empathetic what -so -ever she talked over me the whole time and blamed me for not setting an appointment. I have the appointment from their website saved as a screen shot in my phone to prove I did indeed have an appointment.The technician who is supposed to come out the following day ended up coming out that night because he could not make the time I ser for the following morning (of course)after all this.He came did the service.I was told when I signed up for their service they will make special trips sooner than when appointment is scheduled.I texted the previous technician that I used because he told me to get in touch with him from now on to let him know I needed assistance for there was dead mice in my basement That we're now permeating blow flies around my house. tons of flies all over the place.So another empty promise them stating that they would come out as soon as possible if I needed them was again, bullshit. I never heard back from the technician about coming out earlier so I contacted the local branch.every single person I spoke to from then on out with tell me somebody will contact me in 48 hours I spoke to around 20 people trying to get a resolution to this problem.I spoke to the manager at the local branch name Tim Greene.He called me once said he would be back in touch with me after we came to a conclusion. I requested a refund of my money.I told him I would pay the company for the services I received but I wanted to cancel for the year so out of a 12 month contract they did two services in two months for me.Manager said he would be back in touch with me I literally never heard from him again and they denied my claim after I called about 20 times to see what was going on with that.Very last customer service representative we talked to said that it was our fault Because we canceled the service so now they can no longer provide a refund for us. When I spoke to the manager initially I said I do not want to cancel my service unless I know I'm going to get a refund. So they twisted my words took my money and screwed me out of $1000. I need to now get another company to come in and do the job that they said they would do. This company is disgusting and the people that that they have working for them are disgusting as well. I suggest you don't pay for services in full. The procedure to remove animals is the slowest least urgent thing I've ever witnessed. The employees themselves are great guys but they seem to stuck with the awful management of A... She also has zero regard for personal schedule. When I called to speak to her about my dissatisfaction not with the employees but with her and her offices scheduling issues which they will just make appointments without checking with homeowner availability first she told me I had no choice but to continue service. When I explained that due to her lack communication and work done at my house which is prepaid for I caught the animals myself and that I no longer felt confident that they can do a job consistently. She then proceeded to yell become unprofessional and would not issue me a refund or charge me only for services rendered. My next step will be the BBB because I paid in full for their services and feel as if I'm being taken advantage of at this point. I suggest people go elsewhere read more

All the other reviewers on here are right, Terminix has a huge problem with showing up for service. I used Terminix last year for a separate incident and they were fine. So I decided to use them again this year when a tenant called to report a pest problem. The inspector who came out to do the initial estimate was late. No problem. People make mistakes, we will reschedule. And second time the inspector did come out on time. He gave me a price for the service and scheduled an appointment for the technician to come out. Everything is fine. Come the day when the technician supposed to be at my house to service the property, no one showed. So I called to confirm that the technician is still coming out, No one knows for sure and I was told that someone will be contacting me. No one did. After 6 hours they said they will show, I called again just to be told that no technician or manager can be reached. And that my property is not even one of address that the technician will be servicing that day. Very disappointed and will definitely not use this company again. read more

Came home to see a Terminex sign stuck in my front yard. Just moved in in June... never contacted Terminex and have no contract with them BUT I do have a dog and grandchildren and would never apply pesticides to my yard or home ESPECIALLY if I don't know what is being spread! Do not waste your money! The Windsor, Ct. branch is the antithesis of customer service. It is terrible! I recently added the exclusionary contract for an additional $1000 and I still have mice in the wall. I have been trying to get someone to call me back for two weeks now -- including the branch manager Darren Cook, who doesn't answer his phone and whose voicemail is always full. I just want the technicians to show me where they plugged around the house (for $1000!!!) and why rodents are still getting in. I have NEVER been this frustrated with a company in my life. Wish I read other reviews before working with the Windsor branch. This has been awful. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Took a half day off work to schedule the service. They called me at 5 to tell me they had to reschedule. I was then guaranteed I would be the first call for 8:30 AM today, Saturday. Come 930 I called and they told me they would be there by 10 and they decided to hit another house before mine. Come 11 they are still not here and are telling me that now it might be between 2-4. Customer service told me there were no managers to speak with me. The tech just called me and said that is not true. I am paying a lot of money for a service that is less than average. I had to cancel my pre-paid service today after almost a year's worth of complaints which were never rectified. I had called the Windsor service center several times to complain that the inside of my home had not been serviced for months and months on end. The tech left us a bag of mouse traps in a bag and hung it off our front door! I have explained that they need to schedule an appointment with us to make sure someone would be home so they can come inside....and they never do! We now have ticks, spiders, ants and mice inside of our home which is very close to the woods. Incredibly poor and unacceptable service. read more

Terminix quoted 30% higher than the second highest. I choose them only for 2 reasons: 1) They offered 1 year of warranty 2) They offered to take care of any type of animals, key because I wasn't sure if the noise in my attic was a bird or mice 4 months after, they have only come 2 times, tried only assuming are mice and failed to show up to confirmed appointments, like last Friday, when I stayed home waiting for them. Not even a call. I hope thy are not one of those companies that offer long term warranties to close the deal and then disappear. Will have to keep chasing them to come. read more

Inspector was 1 hr late and showed up glossy eyed and sluring his speech. He contradicted himself and made several basic math errors along with an extremely inflated estimate. He was obviously intoxicated. I am pursuing this issue with Terminix corporate. read more

I would definitely give this review a 0 out of 5 stars if I could. I paid $220 for my first general service a few days before it happened. When the day came for the service to happen, the exterminator from Terminix came 2 and a half hours late because "he had to do something at the office." I live at most 20 minutes away from their location, making this even more unacceptable. When the exterminator finally came, he told me he could only really set up traps and hope for the best. I asked him if he could actively take care of the ant hills I pointed out to him, and he said he couldn't because "they were more than 5 feet away from the perimeter of the house." The ant hills were located at the edge of my driveway which is at most 8 feet away from my front door. He didn't even offer to maybe stretch his arm and take care of the ant hills. When it came to my wasp problem, he didn't even bother looking for any nests and also didn't have traps for them. It was up to me to take care of my wasp problem that I paid them to take care of... Moving on to my roach problem, the exterminator set some traps and bait here and there, but didn't actively look for any sources. Finally, with our mouse problem, the exterminator simply set more traps and basically said to wait. When we were searching for sources of the mouse problem, we located a lot of mouse feces under the stove top in the kitchen, and upon finding this gross scene, the exterminator tells ME to clean the poop from the stove top and sanitize it as well. At that point, I am wondering why I paid $220 for me to do his job. All in all, it is not worth it. Spend $30 on some snap traps, glue traps, bait, and some perimeter poison from Home Depot or Walmart, and save the initial $220 plus the quarterly $120. Apparently, I had gotten the discounted rate as well. You're definitely better off setting your own traps and checking them occasionally. read more

Exterminators themselves were tidy and efficient. However, tried reaching out to the branch manager multiple times and no response at all! Totally ignored my emails. Billing and support service was a nightmare. Called Corporate and paid in full but they attempted to bill me monthly; getting that fixed was a process and a half! Called Windsor 3 times one morning; my call was dropped the first two times when I was working with two different associates! Finally, spoke with someone who could not credit my card for the error but forwarded to their Billing office and someone would call within 3 days (call?? for what?? reverse the charge you know if wrong!). Then called corporate again for the name/email address I could send documentation to in case my credit card company needed to dispute the charge (can you blame me??). "Sorry but we don't give out that information". You kidding?!?!?! Never again - there are plenty of other exterminators to choose from! read more

Horrendous service for a wasp nest problem. Came out once to spray it(paid $317) then said would be back 3 days later to remove it- never came back! Nest built back up again. Called to have taken care of again. Never showed up again when they said they were going to. Called AGAIN- put on hold forever...nightmare service!! Here's the thing--they are SUPER responsive when you first call (capitalizing on the fact that you're in a desperate/vulnerable state), they collect your money & that's it. We called three times to get someone to come out after that initial (very expensive) visit & every time we were told there was no one we could talk to & we'd get a response within 24 hours. OVER 24 hours later we received a call and were told no one could come out for five days. The mouse traps they gave us (thin glue traps) were horrendous & ineffective since they placed them in cold areas where they froze over anyway. If you want attentive, quality service, you are better off finding a local company with good reviews that cares about its reputation and not only about making a quick buck. read more
