Yelp Review for Terminix This one star rating is solely based on my personal experience and is not intended to slander or cause harm to the said business. That being said, I am extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by Terminix and feel it is necessary to share my experience as a caution to other homeowners to read the multiple pages of fine print on the back of the agreement that you sign. I called to cancel my Terminix termite agreement after a year and a half of making substantial monthly premium payments. Despite paying hard earned dollars for coverage, I discovered new termite damage inside my home and was shocked to learn Terminix would not cover any repairs. When I brought this to their attention, I was informed of a clause buried in the fine print stating that if termites leave the area after causing damage, they are not responsible for any termite damage or repairs to my home. The Home owner must find active live termites at the time of the claim. I told the representative that the termites are not going to stay around after they damage your home And they agreed. This sounds like a catch 22 to me And the home owner will always loose to fine print clauses. I would imagine if I had called and reported live termite damage then the clause would say but we don't cover those types of termites Or that's the wrong breed of termites so we don't cover those. This was a complete contradiction to what their sales representative initially told me in order to make the sale. When I signed up, the salesperson walked the property thoroughly and assured me that if any termite damage occurred during the coverage period, Terminix would cover up to $250,000 in necessary repairs. Unfortunately, this was misrepresented. I was unaware of the requirement in the fine print that homeowners must find live termites themselves to file a claim--something most homeowners are neither trained nor equipped to do. This entire experience has left me frustrated and disappointed. The lack of transparency, reliance on fine print loopholes, and failure to deliver on what was promised during the sales process are deeply concerning. I am sharing this to alert potential customers to read the contract carefully and not rely solely on what the sales team promises. My experience has been overwhelmingly negative, and I cannot recommend Terminix based on their practices and my outcomes. Buyer beware: make sure you understand the limitations of their coverage before signing anything. Terminix had the termite contract on my lake house. I sold the house in July 2022 and told Terminix of the sale, and to remove my credit card from the account. They charged my card in February 2023 for $471.00. I have called Terminix five times now to get that charge reversed. You can't call the local branch directly, and the folks on the 800 number say that they "notified the local branch". No refund yet. This is the worst service of any company they I've dealt with. I have had Terminix termite protection for years. I got my invoice for annual renewal and per my wife they have not been out to check the termite bait stations at all this year. Signed onto my account on line and true, no reports since the inspection done in 12/2019. Looking for a new provider, as their service is supposed to provide for quarterly inspections of the bait stations. They do not use stations with bait (just a piece of wood as bait) so inspection is critical to catch termites before they infest the house. read more

I would like to give 0 stars to Terminix but specifically the branch located in Montgomery, Al. Over the summer we had them come out to do an inspection for an appraisal as we were going to sell our house. my husband interacted with one guy who did the inspection, we paid, and received a copy of the inspection. Termite service wa mentioned to my husband and he declined because we were moving and did not need it. fast forward 4-5 months from the summer and we realized we we'd being charged $119 a month. I called in because we were unaware we were paying for a service and they told me it was for a termite contract.....we never signed for or agreed to a termite contract. (it gets better) We had no idea we had base stations in our yard and when they had even been placed...(sounds illegal). After two months or so of getting know all of the customer reps at Terminix, they finally said I could cancel/get out of contract. No rep at this point mentioned anything about being charged a cancellation fee which I assumed was fair because we never agreed to be in contract anyway. Through the numerous calls made I finally got an emailed copy of a "contract" that shows a different guy than the guy who signed my inspection paper work. my husband said he only spoke to and saw one guy. the date on this emailed termite contract has the same time/date as our inspection....although the top half says "customer not home and my husbands name typed out" but he was home because you guys did an inspection the same time and date. my husband never saw this contract nor did he sign for it, so we were fraudulently put in contract for a service neither of us consented to. After the cancellation I was charged an additional $119 that they said would be refunded (it wasn't) because they charged me out of contract...but then on 1/1/24 I woke up to a charge of $714 I had called in because I wasn't sure why they would take more money from me without my consent. they told me it's because I concealed a contact and it's fulfilling payment for the eest of the year. MIND YOU WE NEVER AGREED, SIGNED, OR CONSENTED FOR A TERMITE SERVICE. After a million calls, they escalted my case to the local branch. I spoke to this very rude guy named Jay B. Who from the start of the conversation did not want to hear my side of the issue and continued to tell me why I was charged but failed to realize we never agreed to the contract. He kept saying "we have your card information" as in we had to willingly give that to them...and to that I said "yes you received my card information to pay for the inspection" it got hostile and he ended up hanging up on me. I called the customer line to complain and they then escalated me to level 2 (which is a joke in itself) I waited patiently and never received a call that was promised or any email. Come to find out that my case is "resolved" and I will not be receiving a refund. FOR SOMETHING I WAS A FRAUDULENTLY PUT INTO. Other things to add their own reps said that it was weird that the emailed "contract" shows they installed the base stations the same day...apparently it's a next day thing. (We never saw anyone come to our property and do this). Another rep said we also did not have any signed service agreements, I am currently waiting on copies of those. This is such a weird fucked up thing to be in, and I have lost overall $1300. I wasn't even asking for all of it back because it was been a terrible fight to get out of a contract, we just wanted the $714 and they won't even give that back. Also, I found out that the regional level escalation just has them talk to the local branch manager and apparently the regional person spoke with the ever so unprofessional J.B, so of course he wasn't going to give me my money back considering he did not want to understand my issue LOL. Terminix has a smart and scammy business set up where you cannot actually speak with higher managers or supervisors so everything is done internal and you have to have "claims filed" such a fucking joke. So of course you will never get anything resolved when you have been clearly wronged. They want your money, so beware they'll get it at whatever costs and you won't see a resolution. Keep all your paperwork, times, people faces & names if you do business with them. Hell record a conversation. A nightmare that continues for my household. I would recommend reaid other reviews they have similar stories as mine, and go to the BBC. Take your money elsewhere Wouldn't wish this on anyone. read more

Absolutely the worst accounting and management system of any company! When notified by a technician that he would do a service I told him no that I was cancelling the account but had been unable to contact anyone as the phone message kept saying high call volume and unable to take the call and not to do the service. He told me it was scheduled and he could not change it and did the service anyway and I got the charge. When I did finally get through the manager said he would take care of it. Now I just got another monthly bill-unbelievable!! read more

Well they certainly aren't killing any bugs over here. Had them a year. Still got bugs. I keep asking for extra service. The technician acts like he has an attitude because I asked for more than just him spraying the outside. They don't like to spray all over the house. Why not? I've been in this rental for a year. Noticed bugs when I first moved in. Landlord doesn't handle pest control so I signed on with Terminix. I've yet to go a month without seeing bugs. They've actually gotten worse lately. What're they spraying, sugar water? I'm going to cancel my service and just try some spray I heard you can order off of Amazon. Terminix is a waste of money. read more

Poor customer service. Long impossible wait times to contact someone by phone. We've had termite service for 18 months. The commitment when we made the initial payment was that someone would check the bait stations annually. Hasn't happened in 18 months. Contacted twice and were told someone would be right out. Looking at changing companies but they have my original huge payment. Not happy. read more

Jeremy was very nice and professional. He explained first what he was going to do, then did it. It is rare if any of the Terminix technicians are any other way. I do have an issue with the new, electronic (email) receipts, though. They come in promptly but they are unreadable with weird and stray characters, and they will not print on a page correctly, making them all but useless. Please rectify this quickly, and it would be helpful to resend these receipts when they are fixed, if possible. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! I have been trying to get a refund on $97 Terminix owes me since October 2017. It's now the day before March 2018. Every time I call I get a PROMISE...a PROMISE to send out my refund and nothing ever happens. I'm now on hold with the company (the Terminix HQ in Montgomery) after losing track of how many times I've called and pleaded (politely at first) to please send my refund...it seems like I will have to file a lawsuit to get my money back. I have to explain to every rep I talk with the situation and NOTHING ever HAPPENS. Their service is terrible and their WORD MEANS NOTHING. Do not trust this company! Their Communication and Management is Terrible. I would give less than 1-star if I could! 1-star seems like a HUGE inflation of a compliment if you ask me!
