We stopped by Terminesi' for dinner the other night. I'll be honest, I had been once before during the RI Food Fights and had a meatball grinder that was not my favorite. It was so garlicky that I thought it must have been a mistake. The meatballs had whole cloves in them. I LOVE garlic but I couldn't eat the sandwich as it was overpowering. However, Wakefield is lacking in a good Italian place and I did think this may have been a mistake, so I gave it another try. It also helped that they have $.50 wings on Monday. I ordered 8 buffalo wings and rigatoni & meatballs. Well I was pleasantly surprised. The wings were excellent. I think they make their own buffalo sauce and i detected that they used butter (which is always a good thing). Not too hot but a kick. The pasta and meatballs were good. The sauce was not my favorite but that is a matter of taste. The price was a bit high but not outrageous. The service was a little slow, but I suspect that was my server as she never seemed to be on the floor, while the other 2 were very visible. All in all, a nice experience. read more

Elizabeth served me an incredible lunch! Wasn't super hungry, and it was my first visit so I wanted to try a few things, therefore I went with three sides and an iced tea. Any guesses? Meatballs... Garden salad with ranch dressing, apparently better than the Italian And a side of broccoli. Everything was great, especially the meatballs. Their red sauce is excellent. First time here. What "drove" us here, besides our car lol, were the great reviews and its proximity to URI where we were attending an event. Friendly staff. Decent sized parking lot. Quick service on a Friday evening. We got an order of the RI calamari and I must say it was disappointing. Dry and tasted overcooked. Would not recommend. We also weren't fans of the batter. Next up we had fries which were delicious and plentiful. My husband had the steak sandwich, our DIL had the chicken parm sandwich and I had the eggplant parm sandwich. The bread is perfect and the size "small" is not small! We all took home the other halves. All three sandwiches were full of flavor and delicious. I'm excited to enjoy my leftovers today for lunch. This spot had been on my bucket list since opening ( reopening? ) last year, and I was excited to see its inclusion in the RI Food Fights sandwich battle - an excuse to finally visit! We stopped by on a rainy Saturday evening. While the spot has several small tables and a great little outside deck where you can enjoy your meal, we chose to take ours to go, toting the order to the nearby Whalers Brewing. Perfect! With its proximity to the bike path, I can definitely see making lunch stops here to enjoy that deck while out for rides. We were immediately greeted by the SUPER friendly crew. They were wonderfully helpful! Looking for warm comfort food, we ordered chicken parm & meatball subs & fries. Seeing fried calzones, we couldn't resist getting a buffalo chicken for later, too. Off to the brewery, everything was still piping hot after grabbing a table & beer. And, SO delicious! My Italian DH is a meatball aficionado, and very few live up to his mother's legendary dish. He absolutely raved about these - loved them! The chicken parm was perfect as well, and both were on fabulous bread. The sandwiches were huge! Half of each were packed up for later. The calzone went home, too. A quick air fryer reheat the next day worked perfectly, and the calzone was fresh as new. With ample, tasty fillings, it was enough for two with a salad. Perhaps a bit bready around the edges, a bit of redistributing fixed that right up. We are looking forward to returning for a bike ride lunch stop & we already have an order planned for an easy take-out dinner as well. read more

So it's been awhile since I posted a review, but I just had to take the time to write this one. We have been coming here for awhile and the food is fantastic. The sauce, pasta and whatever you have it with is great. Some of my favorites are the stuffed zucchini flower app, chicken parm, make sure you get it with the bucatini. Last night I had good old fashion bucatini and meatballs and I loved it. From the Italian wines to the Italian desserts this place gets it right. Oh forgot the garlic bread!!! Beautiful little restaurant run by and owner who knows his Italian food as it runs in the family name. I grew up going to his family's spot my entire life till it closed its doors like 20 years ago or so. So happy Al brought it back with his twist . The Italian grinder is the best I ever had. The meatballs remind me of my grandmoms but better . I go all the time just for meatballs lol. The staff is wonderful and the food is made with passion, love and pride. All the dishes are crowd pleasers! We hosted about twenty family members who absolutely loved the tasty chicken Marsala, platters of buffalo chicken, spinach and meatball calzones. The cold chickpea and spinach salad and bow tie pasta with mozzarella balls were delicious. Al's sauce for the rigatoni and Italian sausage and peppers is amazing. It's a family run restaurant with an extensive menu of family recipes. This restaurant is like walking in to Grandma's kitchen. Inherited recipes for many generations prior stand the test of time. Portions are humongous and I have never had a bad meal. Wednesday nights they have fun trivia that starts at 7:30 and you are out of there by 8:30. Perfect for a school night! Pleasantly surprised is what I want to start with.We just happened to be in the area today and it was dinnertime and goggle showed me that this place was nearby. About 3 miles away. Nice pleasant atmosphere and we were seated right away at the bar. Very pleasant interior but is was somewhat smaller that I thought it would be. We ordered a caesar salad - it was massive - more than enough for a meal for one. It was delicious though - really delicious. I had a great NA beer and that was really good also. The main course was a chicken parm sandwich (small size) which was huge and a Spinach and cheese calzone. We could only eat half our meals and brought the rest home for round 2 at some point. We called the night before our visit to inquire about gluten-free kids options and were told, after the lady who answered checked with the kitchen, that they have g/f chicken tenders. We were thrilled as we had no where to go with our g/f family members. Upon arrival, the waitress said they don't. Then the story changed to that their 'gluten-free' fryer was down. We were about to leave and she came back and said the kitchen can accommodate by frying their chicken with the g/f mix. Then we get the bill. $5 upcharge for a g/f roll: excessive, but fine and we saw that on the menu. But then a $20 'custom order' upcharge. I asked the waitress what that was for and she said for the chicken to be made gluten-free. We reminded her the night before the lady said they did that but she said it was their policy to add a $10 upgrade for each g/f item. She said that was disclosed somewhere on the menu but we had not not see that. Disappointing this restaurant takes advantage of food allergies. We paid $25 extra dollars for a gluten-free roll and then frying the chicken, for our two kids to eat. We will take our business elsewhere. read more

I highly recommend Terminesi's for any catering event. We recently used them for a funeral luncheon held in a church hall. They went above and beyond my expectations in every area. We had several last minute changes and they handled everything in a very professional manner. The food was beyond delicious, very authentic Italian dishes. We planned together to accommodate the multiple dietary restrictions of those attending. Gluten free, dairy free, and so on. No one left hungry! We heard many compliments for the food , especially for the Sausage and Peppers. To the owners: Thank you so much for the special care you took for my grieving family. If you need to eat Gluten Free, this is not the restaurant for you. There is not only an upcharge for gluten free pasta of $3.00, which is not really that unusual, however there's a huge upcharge for protein, ie meatballs or chicken of $10.00! So, your gluten free chicken parmesan will have an upcharge of $13.00! NOT a good deal and besides that the food was only mediocre. read more

Found this place from. a yelp review. I was very disappointed! It's only a few months old and the online menu linked to from the Google search was inaccurate. The prices were higher by $4.00 on a sandwich already! The Italian grinder was good but had no dressing (a big issue really). When I told the girl about the issue she didn't really know what to do about it (she was new, not really her fault). Then I was charged for a tip I didn't want to pay. I told her again and she again didn't know what to do. I decided to not make a big deal about it but I'm obviously very unhappy about it! Not a great way to start a new place! read more
