I'd honestly go back for the shrimp alone. The gyozas were really good too, especially with the amazing spicy dipping sauce. Service was good, and while the restaurant is on the smaller side (so it can get a little loud when other guests aren't mindful), the food is what really shines. Can't wait to come back!

Food: very disappointed. Ordered the Steak Teriyaki and got BOILED VEGETABLES AND BOILED MEAT. THE MEAT WAS TENDER BUT looked and tasted like it was boiled NOT STIR FRIED. Service: although the weight staff was very friendly, sadly when I asked for a beer and it was WARM and I did not get a glass with ice until I asked for it 3 times. Ambiance. Needs local music and local ambiance. Be proud of your city and its roots. Laredo is a beautiful city, and people should be proud of where where they are from. My personal opinion. What sets apart a restaurant is, it's seasoning and flavor that the cooking staff bring into their food. Sadly, they don't have it at the moment. I know that there are good. We were the only ones to enter the restaurant the entire time we were there. We started with the miso soup, which unfortunately was missing seaweed! Also, one of the chunks of tofu was cold on the inside. The next item we tried was the cucumber salad with crab. No complaint here - it was good. Next came edamame. It was ok, but slightly soggy and slightly undersalted. Finally, the entrèe. A rainbow roll and a bentoish plate with a California roll, 2 pieces of nigiri, fried rice, and fried dumplings. I blame myself for not reading the description properly, but holy crap that was alot of carbs on one plate! Unfortunately, the salmon didn't taste the freshest and I actually spit out a piece of the tuna; immediately ending my meal. In conclusion, half a star for service. Our waiter was very attentive. And half a star for effort. At least Doki Doki tried to place a nice Japanese oasis in the culinary desert of Laredo.

They are my favorite and I can never choose between both of them. I also get the squid sunomono which is so good and correctly seasoned. I also get the beef mixed rice and I tell them to add scrambled egg in there . It just makes it taste better. Other very tasty dishes that I enjoy ordering there every now, and then I will get the pork eggrolls, the beef empanadas, and the poblano soup. In all honesty, there's nothing you can pick there that you're gonna say was not good. When it comes to drinks, they have certain cocktails that they can make for you and a small list of wine and beers to offer.
