Our sweetest 13 year old mix, Nemmie, took a sharp turn for the worse after a brief battle with splenic cancer. I reached out to AARP on a Friday in hopes of scheduling them over the weekend. I was able to schedule online, and Shelley reached out the following morning to confirm the appointment and provide resources and instructions. Unfortunately, Nemmie's condition rapidly declined and it was clear that she would not make it to the original appointment. I reached out the Shelley, who was able to reschedule our appointment to that same day to make sure our sweet girl could be put to rest with dignity and little to no suffering. Dr. Falcone was the vet assigned to us. She called me roughly 30 minutes prior to the appointment time, letting me know that she was in the area and could arrive before the 12pm appointment. However, she also let us know that it was completely okay if we wanted her to wait until the original appointment time so we could spend an extra few minutes with our girl. She arrived promptly at the appointment time, and was nothing short of an angel for our girl (and for us) throughout the entire experience. I can imagine that having her job would not be an easy one. However, she handled our situation with such grace, empathy, and kindness. Before the procedure started, she took the time to walk us through each step of the process. She also made sure to be as gentle as possible, while getting Nemmie as comfortable as possible before everything started. We also have another dog in the house, who was very curious about what was going on. Dr. Falcone was so sweet to him as well, and let him sniff her, give licks, and be all up in her business prior to the procedure starting. She also did not rush us at any point in the slightest, and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our sweet girl. Once the procedure had finished and Nemmie was no longer with us, again, Dr. Falcone let us have as much time as wanted to say our final goodbyes. She also allowed me the privilege of lifting my girl onto the stretcher, covering her with a blanket, and helping carry her out of our house and to Dr. Falcone's car for transportation to the crematorium. One small little touch that I'll forever remember. She was also very clear that there are two options for having your dog's ashes returned to you: either having them shipped to the vet, or shipped directly to your home. AARP's services, quality of care, and empathy for their clients & their pets are truly second to none. The opportunity to have been able to put our girl to rest in the comfort of her lifelong home while surrounded by love and comfort, is truly something that you can't put a price on. When your inevitable duty as a pet parent to see your pet off to the Rainbow Bridge comes, I can't recommend using All About Restful Pets enough. They truly are the best at what they do, and make the worst day of your life just a little bit better.

I am so pleased with the service we received here that I wish we could make them our regular vet!…read more *The facilities were spacious and clean (so me and my nervous dog were comfortable while we waited). *Everybody was so kind. *We didn't feel pressured to do unnecessary test/labwork, etc. *They kept us updated throughout our dog's stay and even texted us a picture of her when she went to bed. *Hopefully, we won't have to visit an emergency vet anytime soon, but if we did, this is exactly where we would go!

We have been to VetMed Emergency Care twice. This will be my only review, and I hate to write it…read more A few years ago, early one morning our dog appeared to wake-up having a seizure. Even though she seemed OK about ten minutes later, we decided to take her in for a checkup anyway, and VetMed was the nearest Clinic open. After examining our dog, the vet gave us his "diagnosis". "She must have got into your 'drug stash', because she's really High.", he said. I pointed out that of all the things it could possibly be, he picked the one that's impossible. We don't use drugs, and we don't have a drug 'stash'. "Are you sure?", he insisted, "She's high as a kite!". The only person in the house on prescription meds buys them one vial at a time, and keeps them in her purse. There is no way it was drugs. The vet seemed offended that we doubted his diagnosis, and insisted he run a "Drug Test". We told him it would be negative, and it was. The dog was clean as a whistle. End Diagnosis: "We don't know what's wrong with your dog. That'll be $600 please.", (including the unnecessary Drug test). A few years later, the same dog has two growths on her belly. We had her scheduled for surgery to remove them the following Monday, but Saturday one of them ruptured, causing a systemic infection on her side. VetMed was the only emergency clinic open, so we took her in. Our priority was, 1. Antibiotics to slow the infection, and 2. Get her to surgery as scheduled to have the growths removed. They kept her alive, so I'll give them kudos for that, but they don't do surgery there, despite putting "Mass and Tumor Removal" on their page. Instead, they insisted on keeping her for three nights, which canceled the surgery she was scheduled for. They ran tests for Cancer, insisting she might have it, even though she had been tested TWICE before, and all the tests were negative. They still did CT scans, Sonograms, X-rays. One doctor said her kidneys were fine, and another said they were failing. They ran test after test while the infection continued to eat away inside her. Some of the tests we paid for have no posted results, did they even do them? I don't know. The vet started talking Cardiac problems, and we finally said "ENOUGH!", paid the $9000 they charged us and took her home. She's still alive, although totally incapacitated. She still has the growths, so we plan to take her to one more Vet tomorrow, but we're already expecting a recommendation to put her down. TLDR: I'm not saying don't take your pet there. If your dog rolls off the bed and breaks it's leg at 2AM, they're better than nothing, but when you leave, TAKE YOUR DOG WITH YOU, and schedule an appointment with your regular vet. Otherwise, you might end up leaving three days later with a pet that's been over-tested and over-diagnosed for every possible problem they can charge you for, a $9000 vet bill, and a dog with a broken leg. We won't be going back. EDIT: 6 hours ago, my son decided to NOT give our dog two of the prescriptions VetMed gave us, Benedryl and Pepcid. The massive bloating she had in her side, legs, and paws is nearly gone, and she's more active and resting comfortably. Turns out, dogs are allergic to Pepcid, that's why they gave her Benedryl on top of it. The vet told us the bloating was due to her lymphatic system being blocked by... You guessed it... "Cancer". Please wish us luck with a new vet tomorrow, thank-you.
