Loveee the sushi rolls here so much~ I forgot which one I got but it tasted amazing and their fried tempura dish is amazing as well! Me and my brother also love their yakisoba noodle dish. Service has always been great and they are very attentive :) will definitely be back to try another one of their rolls and their eel nigiri sushi

A small local business in East LA that has decent sushi. We ordered: California roll, Spicy Tuna roll, Crunch roll, and Spider roll. The taste was good and filling. Inside was just the sushi maker and one other worker who was working the register and servicing the guests. Both were nice and greeted us with a smile. The place was pretty busy and it's nice to see this local business is being supported.

I was always curious about this place since I drove by it many times so I decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint, this was probably the best sushi I ever had, it was so yummy and the portions were pretty big too. It was very flavorful. Would recommend coming!

I found this place by lucky chance. The usual teriyaki sushi place close to my work was closed, but I was craving sushi so much so I looked around and it was very close to my work, in a nice little corner. You walk in and immediately feel welcomed. Hostess/server was extremely polite, helpful and nice. My order was done right away and to my liking. I will definitely be coming here more. Rolls were so fresh, and bulgogi entree was made fresh and seriously just the way I like it. It even smelled so delicious, that I knew I'm gonna love the taste. Totally loved it.... Recommend

Big fan of their happy hour since you get 30% off and you just have to order before it ends at 3pm. They even came around to remind us that happy hour was about to end and asked if we wanted to order anything else which I appreciated. We happened to go during one of the world cup games and they had it playing on all their TVs which was a nice surprise. We ordered 2 apps and 4 rolls which were super affordable with their family combo meal thing (4 rolls for a set price regardless of which ones you choose). This was plenty of food for 4 people and we were pretty stuffed by the end. Overall food wasn't necessarily 5/5 for me but the experience and prices are def worth a return to this spot for me Spicy tuna crispy rice: 5/5 I liked that there were toppings besides just tuna and the rice was crispy and hot when I ate it Chicken karaage: 4/5 liked this a lot, especially whatever sauce came with it. I did think there was a little too much batter for my personal preference though Truffle seared salmon roll: 3/5 not bad but I don't love seared fish in general Black spider roll: 3/5 I didn't love the crab and there was just a little too much eel sauce for me but my friends liked it a lot Ceviche rainbow roll: 5/5 wasn't sure how I felt about this combo after seeing it on the menu but I thought it worked surprisingly well. Would def recommend Rainbow roll: 4/5 nothing crazy but I liked it

They also have a back entrance that you can enter from. If the parking lot is full, you can find some street parking or do what I did and park in the 99 ranch plaza just behind their small parking lot (or behind the brick wall). They have amazing artwork and "relics" throughout the restaurant. It is also dim creating a more intimate atmosphere. They have their own sushi chef who makes their rolls and sashimi. Their staff are completely top notch service! Even the owner came around and asked us how our service is going. I ordered some yakitori and Im new to the scene so I haven't seen many variations. I had to try their chicken skin. Like my friend described it to me, its like eating pork grinds because it is soooo crispy! Their pork belly was good, not too salty. We also ordered their stir fry noodles and it smelled delicious and looked great! We also ordered some sushi rolls and when we couldn't finish them, they gave us a sushi box to take home. It was very cute! However, the highlight of our dinner was their ube mochi!! Highly, no, MUST recommend getting this little piece of dessert! They do offer it as part of their catering option. You get a whole sheet pan, about 40 pieces for $75. They require a 24 hr notice for this order. The ube is grown in Hawaii and is only made in-house. I need to take my husband here, its so good!

Honestly, if someone told me I could get legit M9+ and A5 Miyazaki Wagyu for under thirty bucks…read morewithout getting ripped off, I'd assume there was a catch. But iWAGYU in Monterey Park actually delivers. The space looks sleek and modern without feeling stuffy. You've got comfortable private booths, and you immediately smell the rich broth and sizzling meat the second you walk in. They even have their official Grade 5 Miyazaki certificate framed right by the door, so you know it's 100% real deal before you even sit down. Service was spot on, too. Our server actually knew the menu inside and out and helped us time everything out on the grill. Watching them torch the A5 Wagyu tableside was awesome, and they kept our broth topped off the whole time. We basically ordered a spread, and every single thing hit: Sukiyaki Lunch Special ($29): Easily the best value on the menu. Loaded with M9+ Wagyu, veggies, udon, and egg dip. Torched Tableside A5 Wagyu (Aburi Tsukimi): Insanely marbled, super buttery, and melts in literally five seconds. That egg yolk dip is non-negotiable. Wagyu Belly & Bone-In Short Rib: Crazy tender and packed with flavor off the grill. Thai Braised Beef Tongue & Scallion Tongue: Loved the flavor on these a great mix of savory, bright, and tender. Spicy & Sour Beef Soup & Sake Mojito: The soup gave us a great kick, and the Sake Mojito was super refreshing to cut through all the rich meat. Cheesecake Sundae: Definitely save room it was the perfect sweet finish to a heavy meal. Whether you're hitting their weekday lunch special or going all out on A5 Miyazaki for dinner, this place is easily one of the best food spots around. Amazing service, great atmosphere, and crazy good meat. I'm definitely coming back.

The tonkatsu was some of the best we've ever had--perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Kagura is known for its specialty tonkatsu, and it shows in every bite. The portions were generous and came with all the sides needed for a complete meal. We left completely satisfied and felt the quality was well worth the price. The service was excellent from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and efficient without making us feel rushed. Finding a restaurant that excels in both food and service can be rare, but Kagura delivered on both. If you're a tonkatsu fan, this is a place you shouldn't miss. They are located in a small plaza off Atlantic with their own parking lot in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is small, about 10 tables of 2-4, so there may be a wait during peak meal hours. We wrote our name on their waitlist, but we were seated soon after. The seats aren't too comfortable since space is tight. Their menu had a lot of customizations with katsu and curry. There were many protein choices. My boyfriend ordered their Menchi Katsu Curry ($20.25) and I ordered the Pork Loin Katsu Curry ($21.45).Both were marked as items Chef Recommends. While we were waiting for our food to come out, I noticed their chopsticks lists their other locations and most seem to be in areas with high Japanese footprint: Torrance, El Segundo, Gardena, Costa Mesa, and Los Angeles. The food was ready within a reasonable amount of time. In previous photos I saw and appreciated the grill they put the katsu on to maintain crispiness on the bottom, but they are no longer using that. The meal also came with a side salad, miso soup, and a few small sides. This is pretty typical of similar businesses. The dressing on this side salad was really bad though. As much as I wanted to eat the vegetables to be healthy, I didn't like it at all. Not taking points away cause it's an included item, but just including my observation. The rice was okay... a bit dry for my liking. The katsu itself was really crispy and crunchy for both of us. I can see how its' their specialty. For my porkloin I liked one side of it more than the other. The curry was okay, but I don't find it cravable... not like the curries that are so good I'll take it home to eat with more white rice. I barely dipped my katsu into the curry. If my boyfriend wants to come back, I might just order the katsu without the curry. A nice addition for this area, but I'm spoiled with having tried better curry katsu spots so I'm a little picky.
