Because we'd a pair of pileated woodpeckers make a large hole/nest in a nearby tree the previous year, our first thought was that they were at it again. The canopy on the top of the pine was green and very full but with further inspection, we discovered the tree had pine beetle damage so we knew that the tree had dead wood. We contacted multiple tree companies to come out, give us their recommendation, and provide an estimate. Some of the companies did not respond to our request while others did not respond in a timely manner. LTRC was very responsive and provided us a bid via email that was reasonable given the work that needed to be done (as well as identifying 2 other smaller trees that needed attention). We had 3 bids and decided to use LTRC as they were highly recommended by a neighbor and our subdivision had recently used them for trimming up trees. Communication with Gary McGarry (the owner) and Joy Escobedo (leader of crew and very skilled tree guy) was excellent! We were able to secure a tree removal permit from the City of Milton in a timely manner. We signed the contact and waited to get on their schedule. In the meantime, several storms with high winds came threw and the tree started breaking and leaning badly. We were concerned about safety as we often have kids come into our backyard to play in the nearby creek and treehouse. The situation became dangerous and LTRC made our project a priority and worked quickly to schedule a time that worked for all of us. The crew showed up on time and were very, very professional! They put plywood down to protect our wet lawn as they needed to bring equipment into our yard. They worked very hard to drop the tree in sections prior to the big drop and were able to drop the large section of tree perfectly so that it did not damage our property or other trees. The guys did an excellent job cleaning up and smoothing out the natural area by the tree as well as our driveway where their chipping equipment was used. LTRC was great to work with from beginning to end and we really appreciated the excellent communication prior to and the day of the work. LTRC will be the first company we call in the future!

Removed a gate and part of my fence to remove the heavy wood from the tree. They only cleaned up part of my back yard. When they started to put my fence back up I told them to make sure they did leave any spaces as I had a dog that was deaf. My fence was next on my list to have replaced but it was keeping my dog in until they left gaps in the side and I caught her just as she was going out. The next day when I took her out. They told me they would come back and clean my yard up. As it was it took almost a week to come pick up there boards they put down for the bobcat. They left my front yard a mess also. Never came back to clean up after many texts and phone calls. Sprung on me the time to pay that they charged extra for credit card charges. Go find another company. They don't finish the job. I heard horror stories of $16,000 removals and saw a swinging crane knock down my neighbor's chimney with a huge suspended log. My tree problem wasn't as big of a deal. I was lucky. That said, I called a few places and they either didn't want to be bothered by a 25 year old Leyland cypress over my sunroom, or wouldn't come out for a quote for a week, then said they'd schedule me for JANUARY (2 months later). I called Cathy in the afternoon and she booked Chris to give a quote in the morning. I hadn't had many quotes, but they were all above my comfort -- obviously there was plenty of work out there for months to come. Chris told me he could cut it safely and haul it for the lowest price. He also had a guy who would eliminate the stump and upturned roots for $100. But how long would I have to wait? "We can do it tomorrow afternoon between jobs." They brought a crew of 6 and saved my fence in the process (the tree was leaning over my fence, within two inches of the top). 4 of them hauled sections while two managed/climbed/cut. Chris came in to check and give instructions at the start and at the end of the project. He also reviewed the completion to make sure it was to my satisfaction. On the way out, at my prompting, he gave me some quotes on standing trees that I may want to take down in February when it's cheapest. Above and beyond: Since this was a neighbor's tree, Chris gave me good recommendations on what needed to happen with the remaining 15 Leylands that look at the end of their lifespan, crafted a letter for me to use as a template, and worked with me to make our 50/50 neighbor split easy. They kept in phone and text communication any time I had a question. He even wore a mask for our review without my request. Bonus: His stump grinder contact was reliable and reached out the next day without any prompting. Now it's like nothing happened! I hope to never have to call them again, but if I need some trees cut down, I'll call Cathy and Chris.
