Honestly, I forget about this Mexican restaurant in Topeka. Not living in North Topeka, we have our choices elsewhere, but my family came here with friends and this place was hopping! The chips and salsa were great, the queso was tasty, and they brought out the good and spicy salsa when we asked for it. The waiters were attentive and helpful, our drinks were never empty, and the meals were hot and flavorful. If we're in the area and we want something good and reasonably priced, we'll be back! read more

We found this place and glad we did. Is it worth going there? Yes!!! First thing you'll notice is that they have great sales with taste. Other places around it has no taste. Their service is impeccable m Always checking on you and making sure you have what you need. The food was excellent and everyone received exactly what they ordered. The giant burrito had steak , shrimp, etc... it was so gigantic we split it and we were very full from 1/2 if it. We never had to ask for refills on beverages or fresh chips always replaced. The best thing is their food has authentic flavor. So great place Awesome service by great people. Tasty authentic food. And we had a great time. They have Americanized Mexican food that at still filled with culture. I love their lunch buffet. Can't beat the prices!!

We came to tequila's for my sister's birthday. Normally it's pretty good. Today was one of the worst overall experiences I've had at this restaurant. We ate at around noon on a Sunday. The restaurant was not very busy at all, but they seemed very short staffed. My sister ordered a margarita and waited nearly fifteen minutes to get it. My quesadilla came out much later than everyone else's food, since the waitress mistakenly thought my son and I were going to split the meal (we both ordered the same thing). When my quesadilla arrived, it looked rushed and nothing like my son's. As the picture shows, it was mostly just a bean quesadilla with hardly any chorizo in it. When we want Mexican food again, we'll be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Absolutely delicious!!!!! The large menu had some unique items we can't wait to come back and try and a great lunch menu. The green and red salsas were fresh and perfectly seasoned. I had the Hawaiianan (so?) Quesadilla. It filled the plate and was very generously stuffed full with very well seasoned meats and veggies. There was a large serving of freshly made guacamole salad in the center. I ate half the plate and was full. The service was excellent. I think we have found a new favorite! read more

Went for dinner on Friday night. Ordered the white queso. We had to turn the queso back as it was more like white gravy, had a flour and milk taste no cheese taste. The waitress offered to switch it to yellow queso for us. The yello queso came out and it was clearly melted velveeta as the velveeta chunks were at the bottom. We just left it as is. Main entrees - I rested the Fajita Tropical and my mom & sister ordered the black bean chicken bowls. No flavor in any of the food. I didn't even finish the fajitas. Even the rice was bland. My sister who goes here very often was surprised by the poor quality of the food and says that it's usually very good. The drinks were good and saved the experience. They have 2/$5 margaritas. We ordered strawberry & mango. Both very tasty. read more

I tried to take my family to eat here tonight but was left standing at the door waiting to be seated while the staff mingled in the kitchen, by the time someone finally notice we were there we had decided to eat somewhere else. Normally I would rate this place higher, my family and I have come here frequently for the past three years. But it only takes one bad experience to leave a bad taste in your mouth and tonight was just that. Waited over an hour to get our order and watched our server take food to tables seated after us and would ignore us when we asked for her to stop. When we got our food it was obviously reheated as the waitress had forgotten to bring it to us earlier. When we mentioned the long wait between taking our order and it arriving, the response was "This is a sit down restaurant". Well now we will be seating ourselves elsewhere, along with our extended family. Don't get me wrong the food has been good in the past but I refuse to give a business my money if that is the way a manager treats a table, may as well have spit in my face. read more

Great remodel. It tends to be a little loud for a dining experience. The food is good...the best in the north Topeka area, but the staff should be wearing gloves or using a scoop when grabbing chips or ice out for customers. We have watched that less-than-sanitary practice each time we've been in and while we've kept going back, it's a pretty gross thought. read more

Outstanding salsa. They did a good job renovating this place before opening in November. We have eaten here 3 times and food is always great. The service has been very good. Oscar was our latest server and was very good. The Pollo Santa Fe was very tasty and the others in my group had a variety of burritos, all were good. The food was great, the potion sizes were huge. The only thing is that they seem to be training a lot of people at once, so the servers rotated a lot in our bigger group, and small things like drinks and appetizers kept getting missed. This is an easy thing to fix, worth coming back, as I understand they just had a remodel. I'm sure a smaller group would have far fewer issues. read more

We arrived at Tequila's North on Saturday around 12:45 and when we walked in there were only about 20 people in the place. We waited and waited and waited. 4 different employee's looked right at us yet never came up to seat us. 2 more people walked in and again we all waited and waited. We left and went up the road to Margaritas Jalisco North and it was FANTASTIC. Walked in, sat down, had water and our order taken within 2 minutes of walking in the door. As we were sitting at our table the couple that was behind us at Tequila's walked in and waved to us. I will never go back to Tequila's EVER! Also .. friends of ours had the same problem. A couple with one in a wheelchair was asked if they would like to be seated at the bar .. ummmm she is in a WHEELCHAIR ... HELLO .. how about a booth?
