I was amazed walking into this place. A few years, it was impossible to find a brew pub, let alone a decent brew pub, in Florida. So when i walked into this gem of a beer lover's palace, I was, well, drunk with happiness. The place just works. And the beer......phenomenal. I was camping at Jonathan Dickerson State Park just up the road and had wanted to bring some beer back to the campsite and share around the fire. I had a growler that I've used at other Breweries throughout the State. Bartender said the she could only fill a growler from the home brewery She said it was "the law". I called BS and said I had several breweries fill their beer in another's growler. She just walked away. If that's your policy fine. But don't shroud your pretentious policy in a fictitious legal citing. I would give it 0 stars if I could. read more

In an area virtually bereft of good craft beer, Tequesta Brewing is an oasis for south Florida hopheads like myself. Excellent brews (particularly the brown ale and the rotating "big beer") in a funky, blessedly dark spot which houses both the brewery itself and the bar/tasting area. Several flat screens show sporting events, but the place is blessedly free of the brotastic "sports bar" atmosphere, and the music selection rocks (a cool mix of reggae and jam-band tunes when I was there, courtesy of Pandora). Food is available from the cafe next door...the wings are decent, and go well with the beer. The growler filling machine is definitely a must-see, and they sell growlers in both quart and gallon sizes. The only drawback for me is that the place is 51 miles away; however, now I have another reason to attend Jupiter Hammerheads games on the weekends! read more

Along with The Food Shack, TBC, although a brewery without a kitchen, is a flagship in the service industry in northern Palm Beach County. I've been going here since they brewed their beer next door and am an original mug club member. No matter how busy this place is, you never wait on a drink as the staff is attentive and they know who the regulars are. The place is s bit noisy due to the industrial ceilings but deal with it. This is a true microbrewery. Always has at least 4 to 6 original beers on tap as well as a few guest beers. Growlers are available. Has a bar as well as tables and a lounge with couches and wi-fi. This is a microbrewery so by FL law, they can't prepare or serve food. Takeout snacks can be ordered on your cell from the restaurant next door (The Corner Cafe). This is a wonderful place to go for fantastic beer made right on the premises. Very friendly staff. The bar area is unique and beautiful. Gets very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. Good selection of some unique wines (Huh?? Who'd want any of that in a brewery???). Go! You won't regret it! read more

I love to try brew pubs when I am traveling and this sweet, little, dark place has excellent beers. I particularly liked Der Chancellor, a German-style Kolsch. The guy behind the bar was super nice and told my friend and I about the history of the dark wood MASSIVE back bar that was over 100 years old! Very cool place! This is my very favorite place to go in this area (except for TBC's sister brewery Twisted Trunk). The beer here is fun and inventive and it's fun to come in and be surprised when they have a new lineup. I first fell in love with TBC's watermelon berlinerweiss and have found several more that I love. We like to go in and do a sample flight when they have a new lineup and then fill up a growler with our favorite beer to bring home. While I can't speak for the bar, the "gastropub" food that the menu touts is far from it. I ordered the fish of the day cooked with pan crusted macadamia nuts in a burre blance sauce. It tasted of something home cooked, not of restaurant quality, had no flavor what so ever, was greasy and I couldn't finish. It was also a little burnt and they forgot the salt. One of my favorite breweries on earth. They always have new beers on tap and I've never had bad service here. The bartenders are always ready to give you your next beer or ask you what you want the second you sit down. I think I've tried almost every beer they have come out with in the past year and there was not one that I didn't like. Chill vibes and an overall awesome place to hang out. Thanks Fran for literally saving a piece of my hometown of Mt. Carmel. He moved his family owned bar from a small coal mining town in upstate Pennsylvania to Tequesta, Florida. We happened to be in the area and had to check it out. I hadn't seen the bar since college when they were serving 15 cent Yuengling's. The beer is fantastic since it is brewed right there by Fran himself. I was so happy to see the bar not only saved, but rejuvenated and thriving. Much of that is due to the friendly atmosphere created by Fran who greets people when they arrive and leave. Before I left I had to throw a quarter over the top of the bar like the coal miners did from as far back as 1915. Great work Fran! read more

Great beer and Great service... The bar is packed during happy hour but the bartenders won't let you wait for a few minutes. Also they seem to know all the local's favorite beer! I think that adds so much to your clientele being happy. We ordered a flight for $7, and since i was happy hour it was only $3.50/pint! They had 6 beers on draft and 3 more from other local breweries. As an IPA snob, I really like their Freedom, it wasn't too overpowering on the hops and it was perfectly balance for hot florida weather. They also had a Belgian style port that was delicious!!! But at 10% it's too dangerious for us to be chugging those down before getting on the road. Lastly, we've never seen the PHIL but I was starting at the growler filler all day!! We've been to hundreds of breweries up and down the east coast and in Canada and never seen something so bad ass and cool. I'm so glad we were able to check out Tequesta Brewing coming. My wife and I stopped by on July 4th for some good ol' micro brew beer. It had been on our list for sometime but we never took the time to drop-in. Our mistake. I will confess we probably hadn't because I read where you order the food from next door and I usually eat something when I hunker down with flavorful beer but we should have tried the beer earlier. Our waitress was very pleasant and she was hustling to take care of the guests so we appreciated her rundown of the beers and her smile. I got the sampler because it was my first time in the bar and my wife asked for a beer similar to Bell's Two-Hearted Ale and was given two choices and she liked the Oskar Blue guest beer. I liked the Der Chancellor and the Gnarly Barley. It was dark and smelled liked someone was making beer....I wonder why. I liked the place and plan on grabbing a nicely priced Growler before I leave. By the way I counted 18 growler re-fills in the 90 minutes we were there. Looks like Tequesta is supporting their local brewer. read more

It's clear that SE Florida is craving micro brews and Tequesta Brewing Co is filling that thirst. I was there on a recent Friday at 5:30 and place was packed. They specialize in German style beers of which I am not a fan. The beer selection is limited and way to German for me. I really like the vibe of the tasting room and would like to see them branch out into IPA's and English Ales. I am from SoCal the microbrew capital of the states and SE Florida has a long way to go. I give them 4.5 stars for the tasting room vibe. read more

Visited TBC the other day (a Sunday) after kayaking in the nearby state park. The beer I had was decent, but I'm only giving the place 2 stars because the atmosphere is super weird. Black lights and black walls, like it used to be a nightclub and was never renovated after it became a brewery. It also has very limited seating, so my friend and I shared a table with two strangers. And there were three TV's in the place, all showing different sports. I think if I ever went back, it would be to fill a growler and drink it elsewhere. read more
