    Onigiri
    Lisa Y.

Tenori is one of the food stalls located inside of Rodeo 39 Public Market. You order on the kiosk, and they will text you when your order is ready. Their entire menu pretty much consists of onigiri rice balls, but I believe they have a spicy ahi poke as well. Each onigiri is $4.00, but you can order a combo for 3 onigiri for $11.00. We got the Honey Walnut Shrimp, KBBQ, and Spicy Salmon. The Honey Walnut Shrimp has shrimp tempura, along with a honey lemon mayo, candied walnuts, bonito furikake, rice, and nori. The flavor in this one is more mild, and the breading mixed with the rice makes it a little more carb-heavy when you're eating it. I think I would have preferred it more without the tempura breading. The Spicy Salmon has broiled salmon, spicy kewpie mayo, bonito furikake, rice, and nori. And lastly, the KBBQ has beef, onions, house special garlic soy sauce, sesame seeds, bonito furikake, rice, and nori. The Spicy Salmon and KBBQ are a lot more flavorful than the Honey Walnut Shrimp, so I enjoyed these more.

OVERALL : I loooove getting onigiri whenever I'm feeling a snack / light meal. Something about rice and protein served in small portions just hits especially when you're out and about looking for a small snack that won't weigh you down too much. Tenori specializes in onigiri, which are rice balls filled with various proteins inside and wrapped with seaweed. Tenori also puts a delicious sweet and salty furikake on top that is so addicting and perfectly complements the rice! There's a self-order kiosk so I didn't interact w/ the staff, but it's just a casual spot for grab-and-go, so this was no biggie. PARKING : Inside the Rodeo 39 food hall so there's a big parking lot, but things can still get crowded during rushes so be prepared to circle for parking if going during peak hours / weekends. FOOD/DRINKS : Mentai - spicy cod roe, this was actually spicy and they were generous w/ the filling! Spicy Tuna - cooked tuna, spicy kewpie mayo -- not actually spicy but a classic, still yummy! Spicy Salmon - broiled salmon, spicy kewpie mayo -- not actually spicy but you can never go wrong with salmon and mayo combo!

SPICY SALMON KBBQ PORK BELLY HONEY SHRIMP

Tenori is a go to whenever I come to Rodeo 39. Their 3 for $11 deal is so worth it! It's a whole meal. Very generous with the amount of filling. We got spicy salmon, pork belly, kbbq, and honey shrimp. The spicy salmon is my favorite one. I think next time I will just get spicy salmon and try a different filling. The others are good too but the meat fillings weren't as good as the salmon. The honey shrimp was probably second best but the filling in that one was pretty small. There's not much to note on service. You order through a kiosk so there's not a lot of interaction. There are many restaurants at rodeo 39 so the line doesn't get very long. Wait is never long!

Cute spot for onigiri in Rodeo 39. We ordered the onigiri trio with the pork belly, spicy salmon, and KBBQ. Great as a little snack as you walk around. There is ample seating and parking in the lot.

First time here. Place was small and cute. I ordered the spicy ahi tuna, which wasn't spicy at all. Ahi was $9, Rice $3, spicy mayo $1. It's pretty expensive for the amount of food you get. It was filling, but still pricy. Food was delicious and the girl at the front was nice, but kind of quiet/shy

1/4 lb of ahi tuna poke tossed in spicy mayo with small container of unagi sauce

I tried the onigiri a few years ago and thought it was fine (the honey walnut shrimp was my fave of the three). Never really had a craving for them again. That said, I recently visited to try the ahi tuna poke. It's $9 for what they advertise as 1/4 lb of poke. NGL the portion was a lot smaller than I was expecting for the price. I saw another reviewer had ordered the poke with the $3 side of rice, and their portion of poke somehow looked more substantial than mine. The poke container looks deceptively big in the picture, but use the fork for scale, and keep in mind it's a single layer of poke. You'd get more bang for your buck by going to a place that specializes in poke because you'd get more scoops of protein plus rice/salad and lots of toppings for only a few bucks more. The poke here for $9 is honestly a ripoff and an overpriced snack at best. It's also not spicy at all despite being advertised as spicy ahi tuna poke.

Went on a Thursday night. Not busy at all. We did a few of the 3 for $11. Orders came out quickly. Kbbq. My second favorite Pork belly. My least favorite Salmon. My favorite I will try the other options next time. Would recommend!

I am a huge fan of onigiri's (rice balls wrapped in seaweed). So when we were in town checking out the Rodeo 39 public market, we just so happened to see a food vendor serving specialized onigiri's. Tenori is located in a nice area in Stanton inside the Rodeo 39 public market. Parking is easy and accessible in the large parking lot. We ordered 3 onigiri's, Pork Belly, Spam, and Spicy Salmon from Tenori. Everything was tasty and pleasing. I thought it was a great value price point for the 3 onigiris deal. The service was efficient and quick. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Tenori. If we are ever back in town or at the other locations, I definitely want to try the other onigiris.

What is special about "Tenori" ... As you buy onigiri or musubi in LA/OC, sometimes it's not made to order (It's been sitting around a while); sometimes they squeeze the rice too tightly; sometimes they don't have a lot of filling options. At Tenori, they always make the onigiri fresh. The rice is warm; the nori is dry and crisp; depending on the filling, the protein is appropriately warm or cool. My recommendation is to order the "3 for $11" offer, and try three different fillings. I admit it ... I have been busy, and I have not been to Rodeo 39 for almost 9 months. I was disappointed that some food vendors that I have patronized are no longer there. So, I was happy to see that "Tenori" is still open.

Mix and Match: Spicy Tuna, Salmon and Pork Belly.

Brought my nieces to Rodeo 39 and we decided to have some thing light to snack on . First time trying Tenori. We tried the Mix and Match, 3 for $11. Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, Pork Belly and order another one on the side; Spam. Great flavor for all four. I love the Tuna! For those spice lovers, you'll need to add more. I would recommend trying this place and will try the others next time. Parking can be tough during peak times. Maybe avoid parking away from In-n-Out.

I find myself ending up at Tenori almost every time I'm in town! I'm honestly not sure why but of all the onigiri spots I've been to, Tenori always takes first. I usually go for the 3 pack and mix it up each time depending on how I'm feeling. The KBBQ is probably my favorite. I've also tried Pork Belly, Mentaiko (spicy!), Honey Walnut Shrimp, all of which are amazing as well. You can place your order yourself from a kiosk and the food is served usually pretty quickly after that. Tenori is located inside Rodeo 39, a food hall with over a dozen other food options and plenty of seating. Parking can get tough when busy, but otherwise great location and vibe!

    Sari K.

Spicy salmon: Pretty good! Slightly spiced but not hot. Lots of salmon filing. Probably my favorite. Honey walnut prawn: This was super good too. Tastes like a good honey walnut shrimp and the breading wasn't soggy. It's a contender for favorite. Pork belly: Least favorite. The pork is pretty dry and the flavor is alright and a little on the smoky side. Lychee lemonade: Pretty good! Light and refreshing. Stronger lychee flavor at first with that sour lemonade punch at the end. Very interesting.

"Onigiri Bliss - Tenori Has Me Rice-ing to the Occasion!" If you're on a quest for the holy grail of onigiri, look no further than Tenori at Rodeo 39. These little rice bundles of joy are so good, I briefly considered writing them into my will. I went for the Honey Walnut Prawn, and let me tell you--crispy, not soggy, and just the right balance of sweet and savory. It's basically what shrimp tempura dreams of becoming when it grows up. Then there was the Spicy Salmon--delicious, but about as spicy as a rom-com on a Sunday afternoon. No worries though, because I came prepared: enter the black sauce and spicy mayo, a dynamic duo that should honestly have their own fan club. Pro tip: BUY THEM. Your taste buds will thank you. Ordering is a breeze with the kiosk system, and there's always a friendly staff member in case you get so excited about rice that you forget how technology works. And to keep things balanced, I paired my meal with their Organic Coconut Water--because hydration is key when you're about to inhale three onigiri like it's your last meal. Speaking of three, get the 3 for $11 deal--trust me, one is never enough, and two is just teasing yourself. Overall, Tenori is a 10/10 rice experience. Would I return? Absolutely. Would I consider getting a tattoo of their onigiri? Give me a few more visits.

When I asked the staff about it, the chef said it's because the pieces given are the same as 3 which was a bit weird since the pieces didn't look that big compared to the photos on Yelp. This dish also comes with a salad. Chicken katsu curry- I ordered it medium, but honestly the curry is on the sweeter side with no heat at all. You also get raisins which makes the curry even sweeter. For $26, it's not a good price point for this type of dish. You can get this dish for much cheaper at other establishments. I would pass on this dish. Staff was nice and interior is clean and a bit cramped. My meal was over $100 for the 3 items which I normally wouldn't mind if the quality offsets portions given. Be prepared to spend lots if you want to get full! Also, keep in mind they charge an NCA fee if you don't pay cash. This place is a solid 3.5 for me.
