Finally, on a hunt for houseplants and in the general area I popped in, and plan to never just drive by again. The outside carries the best variety of concrete statuary and garden art I've seen in Lancaster. All styles, sizes, and for budgets big and small. Inside, their greenhouse and retail space was on the small size and no frills but their plants all appeared healthy and were very reasonably priced. They also carried a variety of indoor and outdoor pots, liners, accessories, gardening supplies, and the like. All of this in addition to their floral delivery service and cash and carry bouquets. There was one lone employee there who was friendly and did her best to be helpful. However she was under educated and basically knew nothing about any of the houseplants I was purchasing as far as shade or full sun, etc. Most of their plants are not labeled with even the basic name so I was making my purchase based on leaf design. She did her best to look up the varieties in her plant book but of the 6 plants I purchased only was able to find two, which provided me minimum information. There were also houseplant containers and baskets already made, and quite lovely, however when another customer wanted to purchase them was told she couldn't because she didn't know how to price. 4 stars because they definitely need to label and provide some information on their plants, educate their employees, and not to put items on the sales floor that isn't for sale.

I am the most non green thumb person ever, so I took an invitation so I could try to explain what I was looking for. Every employee I encountered was wonderful to deal with! Roxanne herself helped me come up with a plan, but I left it mostly in her hands. When I picked up the arrangements a few days later, I was simply blown away by what was created. It was exactly what I was looking for without even knowing exactly what I was looking for! So many compliments were given over the arrangement. Roxanne's will be getting my floral business from here on out.

Behind the greenhouse, we had a delightful time listening to our instructors who clearly have worked side by side at the farm. Educational facts about herbs with a sprinkling of humor began the event. It is so wonderful to attend a class where they share their knowledge about the herbs and their uses. They give you salient advice that helps you decide on which herbs fit the taste profile you enjoy so you build your herb pot on what fits you. Then to top it all off they gave us a handout that covered trimming, drying and pairing herbs as well as a few recipes! A wonderful experience! Thank you for making my Mother's day extra special!

I order online from Pittsburgh. Online ordering is simple & fast. You can include a personalized note. Each arrangement has been fresh & lasted over a week or more. Delivery fee is $15. If you live locally, obviously you can pick up at the store. I add a small tip for the flower arranger too. Total was about $70 with tax & tip. I have preferred this company as opposed to larger floral shops or national companies, whose flowers did not last as long and we're not as fresh and sometimes even cost more. Will order again in March for my aunt's birthday.

The colorful flowers adorning the window out front made an elegant entrance, and the design continued throughout with classic furnishings inside. Unique items kept catching my eye as I perused the store, but one item in particular begged for my attention: a little black and white dog figurine sitting in front of the window. His name is "Bergere," after the chair, and he has become a beloved mascot in the store. Alison has been in the design business for most of her life. In fact, growing up in her parents' store in Pennsylvania, McIndoe's, is where her passion for design began. With a degree in Interior Design and lots of experience working in the design and building industry, Alison opened AK Interiors in 1996, working from her home. At the time, she was a single mom and it allowed her to be easily available. A little more than a year ago, she decided it was time to venture out and open a boutique home furnishings shoppe in Lancaster. The Shoppe at AK Interiors is staffed by owner Alison and three other employees. The 1,100-square-foot space includes offices for the design team and a room for meeting clients. AK Interiors works with all different types of customers: residential, commercial and renovations. One service that AK Interiors offers is "Room in a Day." Basically, they use clients' existing furnishings and accessories, sometimes borrowing from other rooms, and then Alison and staff design their clients' space. While I was looking around The Shoppe, I noticed there was long hallway filled with artwork; I was intrigued so I asked about it. It turns out that The Shoppe participates in Lancaster's First Fridays where they feature local artists' works, music, drinks and nibbles. The Shoppe at AK Interiors is a great place to get ideas, purchase items for gifts, and furnish your home or business. As for Bergere the dog, if anyone is interested, he is for sale.

I recently ordered my Grandmother a Christmas arrangement on their website and paid online since I live in another state. When my mom picked it up she had a coupon but unfortunately not my CC. They were extremely understanding and made sure I still got the discount, I really appreciated that. The flowers themselves were gorgeous, not a petal out of place and didn't look sparse even tho I could only afford the smaller bouquet. My grandma sent me a picture of them about a week and a half after delivery and they looked almost as perfect as when they were delivered. You can tell they care about their customers and put thought into their orders (our family is a regular there). I will definitely go back and I recommend them to anyone looking for nice priced flowers that look expensive!
