It was before 6pm so we were able to find a seat. I think they have seats for only 25 people so prepare to stand when it gets busy. Our bartender was Edward and he was really nice. I ordered a Tiramisu Martini and then a Porn Star Martini. They were both good, but I preferred the Porn Star one. We also ordered a Smash Burger, which was actually from Holt's, connected to this bar. That burger was tasty - brioche bun & onions = yum. The chips it came with were crunchy. The Bacon popcorn was good but way too salty for me. Im glad we found this little bar and plan on coming back in the future.

I disagree--I am a Chicago boy and it has a big city hidden gem quality about it. In fact, they promote themselves as a speakeasy. Of course you can get any cocktail you want, but my husband and I both opted for a special strawberry cocktail made with Hendrick's gin. It was refreshing, not too sweet, and garnished with a dehydrated lemon slice. Perfect! Our friends both ordered old fashioned cocktails that looked equally as good. It was a Saturday night and this tiny bar was jam-packed. We had to stand, but it was okay because we had only stopped in for one drink before heading to another restaurant for dinner. The bartenders were friendly and efficient. Prices are not inexpensive, but average to what you'd find in a downtown Chicago restaurant. If you''re looking for a cool place to hang in Park Ridge with a craft cocktail and have a small bite (they have a limited food menu, too), Pines Room is the place.

I was traveling alone, and on my arrival night at the hotel, I had a beer at the bar and enjoyed chatting with the bartenders. In the morning, I returned to get some work done over breakfast and coffee. I went with the omelette- which is build your own- and a latte. The meal came with big smashes potatoes on the side, along with sourdough bread & jam. Enjoyed my drink as well, made with Starbucks coffee & added vanilla. The breakfast was a whopping $30 however, which I find kind of wild. Is it just that it's because the restaurant is inside a hotel? Maybe these are typical Chicago prices? Either way, plan to spend a fair bit to dine here.

He looked up at me, made eye contact & went back to writing. He continued writing (I took this as a challenge & started timing his ignorance). After 10 minutes of patiently waiting for him to come ask if I'd like a drink or food menu, I went up to the bar and asked if he could help me. He asked "what do you want?" "I'm thinking of a drink, since this is a bar, and maybe something to eat if you have a menu." A Woodford old fashioned was $20 - this location doesn't warrant Las Vegas pricing. Service sucks - night 2 was a replay. I watched 2 other groups of customers sit at a table, were ignored and then have to walk up to the bar to order and fetch their drinks.

I love that as soon as you enter, you are transported to a tropical oasis that is dark and moody. I visited with a larger group so we made a reservation before. One pays $5 per person in your group and the amount is later applied to your bill. The food menu is minimal and most items weren't available sadly. We got two orders of their pineapple salsa with taro chips. It was yummy but wasn't enough substance to match the drink levels. For drinks, our group got a wide variety. They have all sorts of flavor pairings to accommodate every guest. I got the Captain's Revenge after hearing the Pearl Diver was unavailable. It was good but not amazing. For my second drink, I got the Chocolate Banana Old Fashioned which I thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't hear anyone in our group be disappointed with what they ordered. Our server, Jazmine, was very knowledgable about the menu and asking the right questions to make sure what we each ordered would be something we liked. Overall, this was a fun experience and I am happy I finally got to visit! My experience was slightly tainted with how much was not available the night we visited.

We were very disappointed with the New Year's Eve show we saw at 6:30pm ran by smoothchicago.com…read more First of all why wasn't the Ice Bar up and running? It was NY Eve! We had to go all the way down to the hotel bar which is not handy at all. The seating was so tight in the Montrose Room you could barely get around, especially with no coat check. The sound system was not good. The Drummer had 7 mics on him and he was way too loud. You could barely hear the younger keyboard guy (forgot his name), even Althea Rene had to ask for him to be turned up. It has been many years since we were last at the Montrose Room and saw Norman Brown perform. Things were so much better back then and worth the tix price. Please ditch those tv tray type tables that tip easily with something better to put your drink on. You can do better! As to not just complain, we did enjoy the musicians and overall we enjoyed their music. Plus it was fun to dress up and go out to hear live music for New Year's Eve. However, to pay good money for the tix and pay a lot for parking, just to be left disappointed saddened us. Not enough effort was put into the whole experience.

Housed in the seriously chic InterContinental hotel, this intimate music venue boasts ringside cabaret seating and killer acoustics. The specialty cocktails are made with some of my favorite things: St-Germain, champagne floats, passion fruit juice, and lychee vodka among other sexy ingredients. For the man in your life? Some stellar whisky, bourbon and cognac selections. Tip: Don't forget to have your parking validated by a bartender on the way out and you'll only pay $5. And, be sure to take a stroll around the hotel - the art collection is FAB.

However, I loved the opportunity to enjoy live music on a Tuesday night, particularly tunes appealing both to me as a Gen X'er and my Boomer father. The service reminded me of the extra lengths of care folks seem to go to in the Midwest. My waitress was very attentive to my dairy allergy...& in Illinois, the laws aren't as strict as in Massachusetts. I selected the salad with farro and chicken and the dressing was delicious. Very generous portions! The chicken was juicy and flavorful: well-seasoned with a Mediterranean blend that wasn't overpowering. The mixed green lettuce itself was notable. I loathe limp lettuce...so much so that I often switch to butter lettuce or romaine for the crunch. These were among the best mixed green leaves I've had-very fresh. The farro was the perfect texture, without being overly salty (as it often is elsewhere.) I was glad to have ordered the "flight" of red wines-all 3 of which I enjoyed. Note: we were able to order chicken fingers to go-which weren't on the menu, but which my very picky son loved. The ambiance was lovely, with an airy feel, at candle-lit tables, with a view of a nice lounge area. My visit to Flight was among the best hotel dining experiences I've had. The pork dumplings were not one of the specials, but I liked them a bit better than the discounted items that we ordered.
