And I was early (for once) so I decided to venture to MATRESSLAND. Large warehouse filled with matresses - duh. I was greeted by a very friendly sales person, Navid. He showed me different mattresses until I found one that suited my needs and my price range. I needed something firm but not too firm, I cant do memory foam (back problems) so he recommended something in between. I knew it was the right mattress from the moment I layed down on it. Firm but not to firm, soft but not too soft. Navid was very helpful and also hooked up the delivery, I was unable to make the first date so the dispatch was able to fit me in 2 days later with a 3hr window. The mattress came as expected with no stains or defects. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a new mattress.

This allows you to test the beds in relative privacy, which is nice. They have lots of very knowledgeable staff there to help you understand the differences between their offerings as well. They are still waiting for the arrival of one or two of their final mattress options -- right now they have the all-foam version of the Casper and both the all-foam and hybrid (coils + foam) version of the Wave. The manager told me she is waiting on them to send her the hybrid Casper, and I'm unclear if they will be showcasing the Casper Essential in store, but I'm sure that the staff could at least highlight the difference in feel for you. I also enjoyed getting a chance to see the dog bed and their accessories (sheets and whatnot) in action. I haven't come to a decision on mattresses quite yet, but the Casper Store definitely provides a nice way to help you figure out your decision!

I had been waking up with debilitating back & hip pain for months, waking up unable to walk for…read moreabout 30 minutes. The only way to avoid waking up this way was to sleep with a pillow under my lower back & hips. My Hybrid mattress was at least 8 years and despite it "feeling" nice, it clearly was not giving me the support I needed. I had planned on going to chain retail stores like I had always done but discovered there was a local mattress store called The Mattress Connection very close to my house. After reading the phenomenal reviews online, I decided to check it out. I met Edrees on Sunday and explained the pain I was experiencing, and the condition of my Hybrid mattress and I told him that I needed a firmer mattress but with some softness due to my arthritis. The store had newer versions of my current mattress - firm and soft. Edrees explained that you need to take time and relax when trying mattresses to truly see how your body feels/reacts when lying on it. His approach is like that of eye doctors - option 1 or 2. What I loved most about Edrees is that he's not a salesman; He's an educator on how to get better sleep! He is extremely attentive, telling you not to think and instead feel how your body reacts to each mattress. While pulling information about how you feel, he explains things such as how a firm bed does not automatically mean that you'll have proper alignment. This allows you to better understand what your body tells you when you lie down. He will ask if you have a budget, but I can't encourage you enough not to let your budget guide you. Let your body decide what bed works best. He explained that when we find the right bed, if it wasn't in my budget, we could find something similar that was in my price range. I tried nearly every bed in the store, from the cheapest to the most expensive and my body decided that both were not the mattress for me. Most people think that a more expensive mattress means that it's better - it's not true! I tried a $6,000 mattress and I immediately knew that it wasn't for me based on the feel. During the process, I explained to Edrees that I was also going to check out SleepNumber as my rheumatologist suggested I try it because I could adjust the softness/firmness as needed for my arthritis. He encouraged me to go and try it! He said that while he stands 100% behind all of his mattresses and his mattress selection process, he wants me to also feel 100% confident in my decision. This is the type of service I value! Someone that isn't trying to just make a sale but instead takes time with you and is visibly invested in finding what's best for you. I went to SleepNumber on Wednesday, tried all the mattresses with the same approach (bed 1 or bed 2) and chose one. After I sat with the sales rep while he wrote up an estimate, I decided to spend 10 more minutes on the bed chose. It was then that I realized that it was not the bed for me. So, I went back and tried the other bed that I thought could work. I was so happy that I tried them again because I would have wasted nearly $5,000 on a mattress that would have caused me pain. I immediately drove back to Mattress Connection and I asked Edrees if I could lie back down on the bed I chose on Sunday. He encouraged me to do so - and I realized that it might be too soft. I asked if I could try one that was a bit firmer. He encouraged me to take the time that I need and pointed me to a bed that I had tried on Sunday. After spending 10 minutes lying on it, I asked if there was a bed sort of between to two. He pointed me to another bed that I had previously tried. I spent the next bit of time spending about 10 minutes on each bed eliminating them one by one. I ended up purchasing the third bed because the mattress was supportive for proper alignment but had some pillowtop to avoid pain on my joints. After trusting Edrees and his process of elimination, I bought the best mattress for my body and to my surprise ended up spending less money than I had budgeted! If you are in the market for a new mattress, I highly recommend Edrees and The Mattress Connection - you won't regret it!

The manager, Brian, was very patient and not a total sleaze-ball like other salesmen I've met. There was zero pressure and he backed off whenever I was testing out a mattress. The Naturepedic mattresses are more customizable than I thought and the manager switched out the layers as many times as necessary to determine the right comfort for me. You can do your own research on the quality of the company and the standards they adhere to - they're organic and the mattresses are made in Ohio. I bought a crib size mattress and waterproof sheet from them 5 years ago and both are going strong so I knew the quality would be high. I'm a cheapskate in most areas of my life but we spend a third (if we're lucky) of our life sleeping. The quality of our sleep affects our health and mood, so it's worth it to me to ensure my mattress is comfortable and made of non-toxic materials.

On one half of the bed I got medium and soft, and on the other half, I got soft and soft. I prefer soft beds but even the soft/soft layered side is a little too firm for my taste. I never did get used to it and I've had it for nearly a year at this point. The part that makes me regret choosing this particular mattress is that it's impossible to get the layers to sit just right. They need to be snug and it's hard to get them not to slope. It's like a two layer cake where the layers never quite line up just right. I love that the materials are eco friendly and honestly I would consider a different mattress from the same store, just not one with layers that shift so easily. I think I paid around $4,000 for this mattress, but they sell a traditional spring mattress for half that price and I wish I had gone with that one instead (and then maybe bought a topper for softness).
