We were looking for dinner after a Matinee performance, following checking in, and without having…read moremade a reservation. Having spent a weekend earlier in the year in Stratford neither was I keen about some of the prices that the downtown restaurants like to charge. Pazzo Taverna and Pizzeria seemed to be the answer. At 6PM we actually were able to book a 7:30 table. The room was still busy when we arrived and there was a small crowd waiting but we were seated quickly with menus. The bill of fare is pretty much limited to salads, a couple of appetizer choices, a variety of pizzas, and a handful of pasta dishes. Still, a Marco Polo pizza (roast chicken, sun dried tomatoes, feta, & basil) for me and Spaghetti & Meatballs for my spouse suited our dining preferences. My spouse had a glass of a Spanish Red with her meal, I was satisfied with just water. We were impressed that everything on their wine list was available by the glass as well as by the bottle. Also, we got some satisfaction to see Canadian, Italian, and other countries' wines with one particular exception. (As for that, take your annexation threats and stuff it where you're storing all the Bourbon that isn't crossing the border either.) For my wife's spaghetti, the pasta was fresh and the meatballs plentiful. As for my pizza, I found it flavourful with fresh Basil and the crust was thin and crisp. Portion sizes were more and sufficient as we both had something to take away. Service was quick and cheerful. The room cleared out quickly as we expect a lot of tables were headed for an evening curtain. Still, there seem to be a lot of hard surfaces and it can get a bit loud, it did get a lot better once more tables departed. While not cheap we felt we received value for money, especially compared to some of the other nearby establishments. We'll still go there but from time to time it's nice not to have to fork over 3-digits on a dinner for two.

Service: 4 Food: 3 We ordered the burrata which was pretty good though it was more gritty that smooth inside like the ones I've had at some other places. We had two pizzas and their toppings were great, but I prefer a more light/airy crust. This one was quite hard and on the chewy side. The kale salad was delicious and the best out of the 3 .

My bf and I came here upon a recommendation while doing the cheese trail for lunch. Heard they are…read morefamous for their massive panzerotti so we decided to give this place a try. Super friendly staff who seated us in a booth. Only complain was that they had a fly issue, so many flies around our booth that kept on flying around our table and the table behind us. Waitress was quick to take our drink orders, we had ordered deep fried cheese curds for our appetizer and "The Great Canadian" in a small size which consists of marinara, maple syrup, pepperoni, mushrooms, peameal, mozzarella/ cheddar cheese and bacon served with a side of marinara sauce to dip. This panzerotti comes in 3 sizes - kiddie, small and large. The small was huge! Definitely a 2-3 person portion in my opinion. Took a bit of time for it to arrive since it is made fresh, worth the wait. Came piping hot, gooey cheese, lots of meat and lots of mushrooms. The breading was a bit on the crisper side, hard to cut in with the knife we were given. It was super filling, the two of us couldn't even finish it and had to take it to go. You can build your own panzerotti with each topping costing about $1.49 or you can get their recommendations which they will list out how many toppings are in their recommended panzerotti (beside it). In our case, the great Canadian had a total of 6 toppings so 6 x $1.49 each, etc. Plus the size of the panzerotti you chose (price varies). Overall, if you're in town you should definitely try it out, they have a seasonal patio out front, indoor dining and free parking on the premises. They also offer a variety of different foods, pizzas, wraps, steaks, burgers, pastas, lunch, breakfast, kids menu, alcohol, etc. They open from 8am every day.

Great place for a night out. The food is delicious and the service is awesome. It can get pretty…read morebusy at times so you know it's good.

The most delicious Italian cuisine and best carbonara I have ever had!…read more I used to eat at the Ennio's Waterloo location frequently when I was a university student at the Waterloo location, but this was my first time at the Kitchener location, and it was very nostalgic. When I was first introduced to the spaghetti carbonara, I have never had a carbonara in my life and it was the most delicious dish I have ever tasted that when I visited Italy and ordered spaghetti carbonara everywhere I went, I was very disappointed because I thought this dish at Ennio's was the standard. It is very rich and creamy, with a generous amount of bacon and mushrooms. The server added extra parm cheese and cracked peppers (I didn't tell him to stop for a very long time). We also got the veal, which was good, but the marinara spaghetti was mediocre. We also always get the calamari rustica, which is the best fried calamari I have ever tasted. It has a lightly breaded coat with a sweet and spicy sauce that is to die for. The portions are very generous, and although I tried to stuff myself and eat it all, I had 25% of my pasta left over and no room for dessert. I usually always get the tiramisu, which I was glad they still serve but unfortunately did not have any room in my stomach at all that day. The dishes at this Kitchener location are very consistent with what I remember from my visits to the Waterloo location and am very impressed with the portions. The prices have definitely gone up since my last visit years ago, but I still think it's reasonably priced in our current economy and worth every penny! I prefer the ambiance at the Waterloo location because it feels like a family owned pasta house, whereas, the Kitchener location feels more like a chain restaurant. The service was much slower (waited 10 minutes for menus and over 20 minutes for our appetizer and over 30 minutes for our main dishes on a not so busy Friday night at 9pm). However, the quality of the food and service are comparable between the two locations (food tastes similar and friendly staff). The parking at the Kitchener location is also easier than the Waterloo location since it is located in a large plaza. I would definitely go back to this location since this is closer to the 401 highway and more convenient for travellers driving through the city but if I had more time, I would go back to my nostalgic Waterloo location!
