I have been with Tempo since 2014. I have a service contract so my service technician, Gustavo comes twice a year. I personally request Gustavo because he is a professional who knows his business, and explains everything he does with pictures and recommendations after he completes his inspection. I had one issue with ac not cooling at 11pm on a Friday night. Called and they were here by 12:30am to repair it. The people who ALWAYS answer the phone are also exceptional at customer service. It is so wonderful to actually speak to a live person who is professional and helpful. I will stay with this company because of their customer service, and highly recommend getting a service contract with them!! Thank you as always Tempo. read more

This company is unresponsive. Not truly 24 hours since they have an answering service that just takes messages and forwards them. They have no access to any information. It's been over a week and still having air handler AC issues on a new construction home. Meanwhile it's over 80 degrees inside with no relief. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! If I could give 0 stars; I would rate negative stars. I am beyond dissatisfied. How long does it take to order a common part? DON'T GIVE TEMPO-AIR YOUR BUSINESS !!! - I discovered their tune up plan is a gig they run to make money off you through dishonest means. They have ran this dishonest gig on me twice already, it took the second one for me to realize their undeniable act. They have these technicians that they send in to do HVAC tune ups for their customers, and what these technicians do is to deliberately damage something in your HVAC and by doing so, get to charge you for fixing the exact thing they intentionally damaged. Their technician came in to do my HVAC tune up for the summer season. I put the AC on as the usual practice is when they come in for tune up, the AC was working great, this guy went around, did whatever, and afterwards, affirmed in his report that everything about the AC was working fine. However, after the technician left, the AC stopped working. I contacted Tempo Air about this, and the same technician returned and claimed the evaporator coil had suddenly failed--just after he had inspected it and marked it as fully operational. I was charged $89 for this second visit, despite expressing that I should not be billed for a problem that I believe occurred due to the initial visit. My request to have the AC restored to its pre-inspection condition was denied. I called several times before finally speaking with a service manager to let them know what was happening, he insisted it was indeed a bad timing and not the technician's fault - the bold lie! Ultimately, I was quoted few change short of $3,000 for repairs. This raised serious concern, especially since I recalled a similar incident in 2023 where another Tempo Air technician's visit coincided with an AC failure. The heat in recent weeks has been terrible, especially with a year old in the house also suffering from Tempo Air deliberate callous act. They have refused all appeal to fix the issue. This company has consistently attempted to upsell and charge ridiculous amounts for simple services. While I have, in the past, been able to get adjustments to what they try and charge by talking with management, be warned that they are likely going to try and charge you way too much for anything they do, and sell you on things you absolutely don't need. I only wish I would have spent some time finding a better local plumber vs using the original contractors involved in the home construction. This company is absolute criminal through the core. They damaged my house when they attempt to clear an HVAC drain. They refused to fix the damage. They also faked that a blower motor was not working. They wanted to charge me $1600 for a new motor. I had another HVAC company come out and they showed me how they faked it to make it look like it was not working. There was nothing wrong with it. Usually technicians gets a percentage of everything he sells once they shows up. That's how these companies work. Everybody in the call-center supervisors everyone is argumentative and refuses to stand by their work. Do not use this company they are rip off artist. read more

AC stopped working. Called Tempo as we have an annual maintenance contract with them. Arrived promptly and diagnosed a failed coil which needed replacement. Only 5 years old so somewhat early to fail. $89 call-out fee for the visit. Quoted $1,909 to replace the coil and recharge the system. This did not include the cost of the coil itself which was under warranty. Asked for a breakdown of the cost and told company policy was not to provide a breakdown. Seems to be a case of 'think of number'.... Was told the cost comprised labour and coolant and the job would take 2.5 - 3 hours. New coil arrived after 6 days with Tempo coming out the following day. The technicians left after 1 hour 20 mins once the coil was fitted. Tempo were timely in attendance however.... ''think of a number' pricing seems to verge towards dishonesty to me and $1,909 for coolant and 2:40 hrs labour seems quite high. Once our current maintenance contract expires we probably won't be using Tempo again. read more

Ive gone two days with no air and the weather outside is 105. They said they would send somebody and we have yet to hear anything back. This is the third time since July that our air fails to work. I would NEVER recommend anybody and especially renters to go through this company. This place has bad customer support and while we in Texas are under an excessive heat warning and my apartment has been at 84+ degrees these last couple of days. This is disgusting and should never have happened. Please go through another company, I would never want people to go through what I've gone through in this heat and being sick on top of that. My builder got our AC quote from Tempo. Their proposal severely underpowered our system. when I brought to attention my desires for the performance of the system, they backed out of even doing the job. They want to only use equipment brands / sizes they choose and apparently not open to customer input. Instead of following up with me to have a convo, they told my builder they were backing out. $30k job to install 3 units in a new build and all I wanted was to ensure it was powerful enough to perform in tx heat to accomodate our desires. If you want anything other than the "boxed" solution they present - go else where. They wanted to install 5 tons of AC in 3750 FT and wouldn't discuss anything else. On a scheduled HVAC maintenance inspection, they found a weak capacitor. Quoted $450 to replace it. Unit six years old. I asked about warranty and he told me 5 years. I looked it up in my papers and found it to be 10 years. $140 to replace. On the yearly plumbing inspection, had a water leak which they said they couldn't find without a $455 leak detection. I showed him a place in the yard where I suspected the leak to be but he seemed disinclined to inspect it. The location was an old sprinkler system just in front of the water meter, which had standing water. I delayed the leak detection, dug down, found the pipe and made the repair. I am a 76 year old female. I have no confidence in this company. read more

Now that we've had the unit for 10 months, we have kept our unit temp set on hold at 68 degrees. In the afternoon, the temps in the room reach 75 degrees and over. It is unacceptable for a company to put an incorrectly sized unit into a new build. They had all the specs and obviously their calculations don't work. I would stay as far away from this company as I could. We will now have to spend $10,000 to correct theirs and our builders mistake. read more

We have two HVAC systems in our home. The first system failed seven years ago and was replaced with a top of the line Lennox unit by Milestone. We had problem after problem with the system. When our second HVAC system failed we got bids and Tempo came out on top. We received a better system, fully installed with warranties and extended service to ensure the system operated as promised. The performance of the Tempo HVAC system blew away (pun intended) the Milestone unit in performance and at reduced electrical cost. Yesterday, the Milestone compressor failed in the 103 degree heat. The Lennox unit is still well within the warranty period. The compressor is discontinued, but Lennox has two newer alternative compressors. Milestone told us it was on back order - with no idea when they could get it. Backorder??? It's discontinued so they are not going to manufacture anymore! It would be a lifetime wait. We called Tempo for help. We are living upstairs in the Tempo cooled area of our house. We talked with Andrew and then Tammy who spoke with the company general manager. They looked all over US for a five ton Lennox compressor on Friday afternoon finishing after 7:00 pm as they called West Coast sources. Result, Tempo will be installing a new compressor with better SEER on Monday for the same warranty cost which is a pittance of the cost of the unit. They will take care of all the warranty issues with Lennox. Tempo stood in for Milestone when it was not even their sale/install/warranty claim. Tempo provides peace of mind and stands up for their customers with manufacturers. Thank you so much Andrew and Tammy for going over and above to keep us lifetime customers. read more

My air conditioning went out Thursday evening July 28. I received a call back from tempo air early Friday morning July 29 and they were the only air-conditioning service to call me back out of the three that I called late Thursday night. The technician Bryan S showed up within an hour after the dispatcher said they were in route and he was able to get my air-conditioning unit fixed and running within 20 minutes and immediately identified a bad capacitor in the air handler unit. He did not try to upsell me or misrepresent anything because I am knowledgeable about HVAC systems and I felt that he handled my situation professionally and ethically in addition to being friendly and good at what he was doing. As a result I signed up for a service agreement membership and look forward to working with them in the future. read more

I have been a customer of Tempo Air for 18 years and carry a Gold Membership with the company. My air conditioner went out on Tuesday, September 17th, 2019, and I had hoped things would have been handled differently. Kevin was the service technician sent out to my home. He advised that I was in need of a whole new system, as mine was beyond repair. He originally communicated to me that it should only be a couple days to have us up and running, only to come back and tell me it would be an entire week. With 4 daughters and 3 dogs, that was just not something realistic for my family. I was provided a quote for a 17 seer system valued at $10,560. When I asked Kevin for a quote using a lower seer rating, I was told Tempo Air doesn't offer systems lower that a 15 or 16 seer rating. Yet, I then received a second quote for a 14 seer system valued at $8369. I feel that instead of trying to meet my financial needs that I was being upsold on a replacement. I was then offered a first appointment install for the very next day, with all of 20 minutes (until 2:30 p.m.) to make a split decision that could cost me upwards of $10K. That didn't even grant me the courtesy of having time to discuss the circumstance with my husband, who was at work at the time. When I asked Kevin if I could have more time to decide, could we at least push the install to Thursday, the answer I received was I had 20 minutes for next day installation or it would be an entire week. My gold membership, which I had paid into monthly for the past 18 years, was not only supposed to give me priority scheduling, but also $2400 in Customer rewards for my loyalty as a continuous Club Member towards the purchase of a new system. It wasn't until 5:37 p.m. that evening that I received an email reassuring me I was a valued customer from Justin Shelton, Vice President Service Manager. It was then he explained to me there was a deadline they had to meet when ordering equipment, hence the 20 minute rush decision. He then reassured me he could have me up and running by the end of the week and would be able to offer portable units in the meantime. At this point, it was of no value to me. I had already had another company come out to look at my system that exact same day. They arrived at 2:45 p.m., evaluated exactly what I needed, ordered the new AC unit, coil, and furnace, with a promise to return the next day, Wednesday, by 9 a.m. I emailed Justin Shelton on Wednesday, September 18th at 7:17 a.m., advising that I felt like I was backed into a corner and that a company I have been loyal to for 18 years turned its back on me. That while I had hoped to continue using Tempo going forward, that at this time we decided to move forward with another company that could have us up and running that morning. I received a phone call shortly after sending my email from Mr. Shelton offering me a 14 seer Trane system at a cost even lower than I was originally quoted. At this time, I did ask to see if I would still be able to carry my Gold Membership on my new system, even if I decided to have it installed by another company. Mr. Shelton then advised yes, I could, but that he would have to send over a technician to inspect my new system and confirm it was up to Tempo Air's standards. If it wasn't, I would have to cover the cost of parts and labor to get it where it would need to be in order for me to continue to carry my membership. My new air conditioning system was installed by another company, and I called Mr. Shelton on Thursday, September 19th, to advise him of such. At that time I notified him that we did in fact want to continue our relationship with Tempo Air, and could we please move forward with the inspection of the new system. I also asked if my $2400 in loyalty rewards could be used towards the cost of a new water heater, considering how poorly my situation was handled and the fact the water heater would be provided by Tempo Air (as that was money I paid into over the years). I was advised this was not possible, but the company could extend a $500 discount. It was then communicated to me that it would cost me $118 to have the inspection performed on my new system. I was absolutely appalled. Given all that had transpired and the time I had been with the company, this was how they valued our relationship. I expressed my extreme disappointment in the way everything was handled and that he would not even consider covering the cost of that inspection, and that he left me no choice but for us to part ways. read more

These guys installed my ac and 2 rooms in my house stay 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. I scheduled for them to check it out. I called this morning the day of and confirmed with the office. They never showed up and never called to tell me they weren't going to make it. I took off work to be here to get this taken care and now they have cost me a day of pay for nothing. Completely unprofessional and seems like they are trying to avoid having to honor the warranty, I would not recommend using this company or you could be in the same boat if you have any issues under warranty. read more

Tempo is not what it used to be, they used to be better than all other local services (personal experience) even when it came with a premium but it was worth it. Now they are just another expensive option. I've had their membership for years and for the last two years I've included my rental property as well so Tempo is definitely making some decent profit off me. Last year my downstairs AC showed a malfunction message just after the tuneup from a month or so ago (Tempo performed the tuneup and gave me an all clear). They couldn't come on the same day despite the fact that I am a member which includes preferred scheduling. When the technician came he first charged me $90 service fee (again, despite of me being a member and this happened after their tuneup) then he charged me $400 to fill the refrigerant. After the refrigerant was filled he ran more test then determined my indoor unit needs to be replaced. At this point I didn't understand what was the point for the refrigerant fill and he just gave me the "that's how we do it" answer. Again keep in mind, this happened all AFTER they gave me the all clear from the tuneup about a month ago. I went with their recommendation and had my indoor unit replaced. Fast forward to this year, my AC again showed a malfunction message (which turned out to be a very minor thing), called Tempo and again couldn't fit me into a same day service call. I scheduled a technician from Temp Air to come in and take a look into the furnace leak. But, once the technician came in, he says that he would charge $320 more, apart from the Technician Visit charges, to do the furnace leak test, which was not told to me earlier. He just came to my home and did nothing and charged me $93, just for visiting my home. When I asked the same, he says that, that's how Tempo Air works. When I purchased my new home, Tempo was the recommended servicer of the HVAC system. I have used them repeatedly for service and used their customer maintenance plan for a hefty fee. I recently noticed that the unit needed additional services every few months, coincidentally around the time the maintenance plan was set to expire. The high fees, inconsistent work, and lack of any long-standing resolution are masked with very polite employees and technicians. Don't get fooled! They are after your money and could care less about fixing the problem. After they quoted me, another company came the same day and fixed the issue for considerably less! Second horrible experience with Tempo Air. I recently inquired about servicing installation of a new supply plenum after Tempo installed a new return plenum. I got a second opinion and estimate from another contractor. The pictures provided is what was shown to me as I accompanied the tech in my attic. This is the quality of work on the return plenum installation and service call. I am horribly disappointed with the quality of Tempo's work. I have been a customer since 2008. But, the annual maintenance plan that I pay for each year is simply another way to extract even more money through unneeded repairs. I was told that my evaporator coil needed to replaced. The technician walked around (inside the house) with a detector that was beeping. That beeping is supposed to indicate the presence of refrigerant in the air. I was highly suspicious, and got a second opinion. There's simply nothing wrong with my unit. I'm always skeptical and nervous when it comes to hiring a mechanical issue because you are always hoping that the problem is fixed right - and not just finding quick fixes to your problems and jacking up your bill. From my experience, I will recommend them to any friend or family because of my experiences with Joe, one of their HVAC Tech. In the dead heat of summer, our upstairs AC unit deciding to stop working. We bought our home for less than a year so that was extremely disappointing that our AC unit stopped working. Joe came to the house, quickly assessed the problem, and also gave me tips on how to keep my units clean and maintained well to reduce the likelihood of more issues. The problem came from a faulty part, so part was covered by warranty and we had to pay for labor. At the beginning of winter, our downstairs Heating Unit decided to stop working, Joe came out again quickly and assessed the problem, explaining it very well. He rushed across town through traffic and came back to replace the part (that was luckily covered by warranty). He didn't finish til after 7PM on a Friday and he had no complaints at all, I really appreciate his attitude and his customer service. Well, we've had two Heating and AC Unit issues with our HVAC Unit and the Technician Joe did a very efficient and thorough job all-around. HVAC repairs are not cheap, nor are the parts so finding high-quality work and customer service is key. read more

We where having different temps in each room of the home ( hot/cold spots). I called Tempo. Easy to schedule an appointment, very courteous. I was given the dreaded window (10-1) . At 9:25AM on day of appointment Katrina in dispatch called and said Lorenzo ( tech) could be early if I was available otherwise he would be here at 10AM. I told Katrina early was fine. Lorenzo shows up about 9:40AM which I was happy about! He then after being greeted at the door put on shoe booties so he would not track wet footprints on our wet floor. ( we hadn't had rain in DFW in 26 days) him not tracking and protecting our wood floors was very respectful and made my wife very happy! Once he carefully brought his equipment in ( came prepared) he listened to my concerns and addressed them. He went thru each room and confirmed balance and airflow with a gauge. I also had new filters just arrive and he was kind enough to install them. He also explained his work and showed me how the system and thermostat worked. I have a two story home. The heat was not coming up on the first floor which is where the Master bed room is. I had guest downstairs. So I needed them to come out immediately as literally the house was not livable. Inspite of explaining the situation to the agent and the manager their only solution was to come out Monday or Tuesday (it was a Friday when I called). Replacing an HVAC system is a nerve racking thing, but these guys made it almost a pleasure. Many of the team were NATE certified, which is always reassuring, as they are the best trained and most knowledgeable. The team that showed up was on-time, organized, courteous, clean and just plain great at what they do. The installation was vastly superior to that of the unit it replaced, as they use a metal support system with thick cables, kind of like a suspension bridge; the old unit was hung with thin metal straps, a couple of which had snapped, leaving the system cockeyed. Further, they installed a super cool Nest thermostat and smoke/carbon monoxide detector, both of which can be checked and adjusted from my cellphone. They were a surprise bonus and really appreciated. I wish I could thank everyone on the team, but I am horrible with remembering names. They are just a happy bunch. Jorge Dominguez was the lead installer and was top notch. And, the Field Supervisor, Hugo Valades, stopped by for awhile, also very professional. There wasn't a weak member on the team. Finally, the gentleman who evaluated my house and sold me the unit was Nelson Pińero. He worked to get me an extremely fair price. He stayed in touch but never pressured me in any way. The bottom line is that everything unfolded as he promised, including the final bill. I guess a few companies still understand excellent customer service leads to good word of mouth and customer loyalty. read more

Tempo installed my HVAC in my 21 year old Perry Home and also recently installed all new equipment. Infinity HVAC. Their plumbing group also recently installed our new water heater. Tempo is fast and accurate as well as professional. Kirsten came today to service our AC. She called ahead, was on time and friendly. She changed the filter and even took away the old one. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. House didn't seem to be staying cool so had them come out to check, I guess the unit needed a new part. Sounds good, they ordered the part on Thursday and were supposed to be out the next Thursday to install. Got the text that they would be here 8am-8am, so the first appointment, well they never showed up. I waited till noon and gave them a call, I guess they couldn't find the part. They say they will try and get someone out when they find it. They call 5:30pm and said they can send someone but will take 3 hours to install, so she said there was an appointment first thing Monday morning, so I took that. Well here we are and still nobody, I call at noon and they are running late. We were supposed to leave Thursday to help my family but had to wait for them and now here we are waiting again! Very poor communication on top of what I think to be a bogus diagnosis. Brand new townhome with brand new AC unit and need a part when the house is cooling just fine. read more

Yesterday the dispatcher told us a technician will come to check the unit but no call, no show. Today we called back again and left a message to call us back but it has been more than two hours without a call back but the company phone system says someone will call in 15 minutes. I had a service call to my home a few days ago, and the technician was 3 hours late. I initially made the appointment the day before and thought they had emergency service. Website advertises as such "Emergency? call us today." I was informed they didn't and made an appointment for 12, which I wrote down on my calendar. I called the office at 1 when I hadn't heard anything, thinking I may have made a mistake and was told someone was on the way after he finished a job. At 1:49 I was called to say a technician was en route and he arrived at 2:35. Luckily the technician knew exactly what the problem was, he was polite and efficient and I have no complaints with him. It sounds like a scheduling issue when I discussed it with him. The next issue is with the service fee of $93. I was informed of this fee, and I understand what it's for, but I wasn't informed that it would be charged in ADDITION to labor fees and the repair when I made the appointment. Like a car dealership, I understand I'm paying you to come out and diagnose my HVAC unit, and if for some reason I couldn't afford, wanted to perform the repair myself, or have another estimate you aren't losing money for coming out. But especially on a warranty item, the service fee should be included in the repair fee, just as it would be if it were a car. I suppose I would be a little less upset if I hadn't missed a half day of work waiting and had been called earlier in the day and informed of the delay. I know Darling Home Builders uses you all for their work, and I the reason I called you again was for the good experience I had with the home owners warranty work last year. But where's the incentive to purchase a maintenance plan with you all in the future or recommend you again to friends and neighbors? read more

Moving into a 6-month old home, we had a problem after just 2 weeks with the heating. The home would barely heat. First, we went through the home warranty company. They sent overan HVAC technician from some other company who stank of cigarettes (clearly he smoked one right before stopping at our home) and whose diagnosis was "something isn't connected right, but I don't exactly know what." Great, some help... We then called Tempo Air, as they were listed on the side of the AC as having installed the unit. the technician arrived just a few hours later which is great on such short notice. The technician was Carlos Flores and he was very helpful. He wore shoe covers upon entering our home, and immediately spotted the problem (a heating element torn out after the system was installed - probably happened after installation, and before the previous owners moved in), and went out of his way to get a replacement part that same day. He went to a new home still being built, worked with the builder to arrange the swap, and came back to fix the unit the same day. Tempo also worked with the builder to have the repair covered under warranty. Carlos also secured both wall thermostats more tightly, cleaned up the wiring, and fixed a leak in a duct. What a great guy, and great service. read more

We have used Tempo for years at this point. We have had the same Technician for close to four and a half years now. First, he is friendly and courteous. Second, he is very detailed and always willing to translate any findings. There was once that he worked to solve an issue until after 7:30 pm. They went above and beyond. If my other unit goes out, Tempo will be my choice for replacement. This is an excellent company.
