We found that and so much more at Grace Christian Academy. The classical Christian approach utilized at GCA not only challenges our children, but has molded them into so much more than what we bargained for. We've noticed changes in character, maturity, discipline as well as a dramatic change their work ethic as well. The work load at GCA is heavy and extremely challenging, but also well balanced and geared toward equipping a child's mind to becoming not only successful as an adult, but impacting the world through the eyes of God's Word. No school I know of employs such a curriculum quite like GCA. We are very thankful to God to be able to send our children there. Their staff is on par with excellence.

The year my daughter started there 11 teachers left the school. I believe the school is still trying to acclimate to the new principles methods of teaching. The new methods in which administration use included creating a new category of science called PPEAPS. This category of science was an absolute waste of my child's education. Not only was is it a made up category of science that has no proven method or lesson plan, in which to teach, it is not recognized by the NYC Board of Education. My daughter transferred out of Fontbonne Hall Academy without a science credit and is now a year behind in science (which while at Fontebonne she maintained a 98 grade average). The guidance counselor is also unresponsive. My daughter witnessed an extremely offensive racist remark from one student towards another students nationality and reported to the guidance counselor. I also reported it to the guidance counselor and nothing was done. No follow-up to the report no investigation. Absolutely nothing was done. If nothing else, tolerance should be taught along with academics which this school unfortunately doesn't offer either. I suggest that you really lol into this school before sending your daughter there.

I went to ICS for eleven years. From the age of 3 up until I was 13. The problem with this school is not the education, or their way of teaching the word of God, it is their blatant disrespect for those of African American descent. During my time there it was very clear that although the majority of their school was made up of minority students they did not care much about the history and importance of black Americans which was hard to deal with as a child. Being told that because of my skin color I was cursed and Martin Luther King Jr. did not do much for black people. At that time MKJ day wasn't even given as a holiday but every other national holiday was. Although these statements were made by one teacher, he was high up and is a minority himself, which shows the level of hatred that lies in this school. I do not think this is the kind of message that should ever be sent from a "Christian" school. Honestly going to a public high school gave me way more opportunities than staying there for high school ever could. Hopefully they have changed but hate like that seems to linger.

Aslam Alaikum wa rahmatulah wa barakatu,…read more If you are new or considering Islam come here. Disregard what was did years ago about them trying to make money. Except paying for classes I take I don't pay or get asked to pay or am forced or pressured to pay anything. Do understand that donations would help keep the place running but it isn't something pushed or forced on you. When I took the New Muslim class I received a free bag with books, a bottle for cleaning and a beautiful prayer rug. At some point I received prayer beads. Get free coffee or tea and snacks every class. I am also taking an Arabic learning class now. Both teachers I have had are super great. Patient and kind. Most staff there that I have met have been super nice and kind. They have events regularly. I haven't had chance to go because of work but insha'Allah I will go soon. They are great and I am glad I went as I was scared to all those months ago based on that review from 2 years ago. Thankfully I listened to my gut and went. Understand there are different schools of Islam that some follow such as hanafi, maliki, shafi'i and hanbali which are Sunni and there are others including shia Muslims. But just because there may be some differences such as if when you pray the placement of your hands. Doesn't mean we can't all be together and respect each other. If you are new do not worry about picking a school to follow. Learn what you can and eventually when you are ready and know which school works for you then fine but at your own time and place. Haven't been pressured to do anything here. The teacher for the new Muslim class would describe any such differences in an unbiased way. He also really want into subjects that we as reverts want answered but not many will go into sensitive topics. Ahhh I wrote a lot and wish I could keep writing to address any issues or doubt's some may have but you just have to go and see for yourself.
