The only reason why I chose to give two stars instead of one is because I did learn way more during my time there than other people I knew at the same grade level. I went to ICS for eleven years. From the age of 3 up until I was 13. The problem with this school is not the education, or their way of teaching the word of God, it is their blatant disrespect for those of African American descent. During my time there it was very clear that although the majority of their school was made up of minority students they did not care much about the history and importance of black Americans which was hard to deal with as a child. Being told that because of my skin color I was cursed and Martin Luther King Jr. did not do much for black people. At that time MKJ day wasn't even given as a holiday but every other national holiday was. Although these statements were made by one teacher, he was high up and is a minority himself, which shows the level of hatred that lies in this school. I do not think this is the kind of message that should ever be sent from a "Christian" school. Honestly going to a public high school gave me way more opportunities than staying there for high school ever could. Hopefully they have changed but hate like that seems to linger. read more
