It's a great school, the teachers are very nice which makes learning, and the food is great too.

I dare say many of my college classes are easier than those I took at Chaminade. The workload was pretty bad, but again this prepared me well for college and gave me good study habits. I graduated here before they started offering their AP courses, but I'm assuming the academics are still top-notch. They were pretty strict with things like uniforms, cheating, and general classroom nuisance, but I really don't recall many egregiously unfair punishments handed out. Most of my classmates were great and I'm still friends with many of them in college. I never really saw any bullying going on, and even those who I didn't like the most were better people than most at other schools. In terms of the good morals stuff, yeah I'll say that part's a little overrated. They definitely teach you to be the best person possible, and I will say most of my classmates were good people. But some parents try to act like everyone who goes here is a saint or never does anything bad in their life. This just isn't true. A lot of drinking and drugs (mostly just weed) goes on here. Again most of even those who party and stuff are decent enough, it's just perhaps not the most "saintly" place ever like some parents will have you believe. It's one of those places that you don't like, at the moment when you're going there because of the course load and how stressed you will be. But once you look back on it a couple of years into college, you'll see how good it was and how well it likely prepared you.

Chaminade is an independent Catholic college-preparatory high school which truly prepares its students to the real world. I had the pleasure to attend the 2000 graduation ceremony of my former love's brother and the added pleasure to attend live performances of past off-Broadway shows: "Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" and "Guys and Dolls." Tuition is very expensive and entry admittance is not very easy. I highly recommend this school for any parents and young men who are entering their high school years. It is a "coming of age" to young men. Chaminade High School's notable alumni are: George Kennedy, 1943, Academy Award-winning actor and Bill O'Reilly, 1967, a political commentator; host of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor.

Christmas Open Concert for Scholarship Donation Date of…read moreevent: 12 -09- 2018/Time: 5pm - 7:30pm Exceptional, Fantastic, Impeccable, not a note off key. Highbrow - maybe, but both my brows were up, and my mouth was open in awe of such talent. Even the attire was fitting with ladies in lovely colorful gowns and gentlemen in tuxedos. They performed some rather difficult pieces with varied arrangements and they all were spot on. Directed by Conductor Jesse You, along with Vocalist Soprano Heejung Lee and Baritone JaeHwan Lee and the Choir directed by Jaehoon Shin, they all sang like angels. Musicians of finest abilities played a variety of instruments as the clarinet by Shinae Kim, cello by Jackie Hyun, trumpet by Max Min and violin by Anna Yoo, including piano accompaniment from Aram Ko, and Hanna Lee all played music smoothly, intensely and lovingly. The percussionist on finely polished drums kept the beat and intensity, adding texture and energy to the sound and completeness to the performance. The audio-visual crew had the speakers set up clear and easy to hear. There were two big flat screens with images placed depicting who and what songs were next. Full lighting allowed people to be able to see the faces of those on stage, though I found that the lighting over exposed faces for photos on my phone camera. Every cushioned pew was filled with people. The angels must have been watching, listening and dancing, filling every drop of ceiling of heavenly space from above. The tickets were 20.00 each, well worth it, and the proceeds were noted for Scholarship Donation. Recipient list of scholarships listed here in alphabetical order were: Ju Yeong Choi, Sarah Choi, Isaiah Hong, Kim Joo Eun, Aram Ko, Hope Lee, Samuel Lee, Sinai Lee, Chai Seng Lim, Hyunbin Park, Young Han Ro, Yeon Ju Son and Jeong Seon Yoon. A bit too long with no intermission, though sleepy young ladies and babies alike quietly and obediently sat through the full show. There was even a raffle at the end. Various cultures have different customs. Bravos and Bravas were shouted out but there were no well-deserved standing ovations. Of course, hunger may have been part of the reason for an evening that had start 5pm and the show finishing two and-a-half-hour later. After the program a selection of food was set up and all were invited into the room nearby to eat and socialize after a job well done. This program gave a touch of holiday spirit and Christmas with various arrangements capturing songs, sounds and the spirit of joy. All that went into it made it seem easy. No doubt the depth, practice and working coordination to pull it all together for this relatively new Korean Church in East Meadow took diligent work. The Reverend Jiyong Lee, along with other chosen individuals, said prayers at the beginning, throughout the performance and at closure. Professional as it gets, amazingly talented people who performed and didn't miss a note or a beat. This is a modern yet captivating welcoming congregation of talented caring people.
