Goosetown Station is a unique experience. It combines the cool vibe of the grassy setting of Fiddler's Green with the experience of listening to music with friends in an intimate garden setting. The photos I've seen posted so far are misleading. They are outdated pictures of a place that no longer exists. And current pictures don't communicate the vibe. Goosetown Station has evolved to a one-of-a-kind music venue. It has a lot of moving parts that work well together to bring you a music experience that will stay with you long after you leave. But because it's always changing, evolving, improving, what I tell you about the place may change when you visit. But however the place is when you visit, you can be guaranteed your experience will be enjoyable and memorable. PARKING ======== There is parking on the street in front of Goosetown Station. The street is a dead end. If you can't find parking on that street, there is a free, open, public parking lot a 1/2 a block away. There is also public parking one block over in the other direction, across from Ford street. You can park there and walk across the footbridge to get to Goosetown Station. ADMISSION ========== When I walked up the incline to the entrance to the house I was greeted by a young woman who told me they take cash or Venmo. (I read a previous review that said they don't do cash. That's changed.) HANDICAP ACCESS ================ If you are wheelchair bound, the place is set up with no stairs leading to the house. There is seating inside the house and also a full bar and bathrooms. From the inside of the house you cannot see the stage and I'm not sure if they pipe the music from the stage into the house, but they should for those who want to sit inside. There is also comfortable seating on the side of the house in an area you walk through to get to the back where the stage is. I don't remember if there are stairs between the front entrance and this side seating area. If not, it's a comfortable, covered area where you can sit, hear the music and see the stage. SEATING AREAS ============= From the pictures I saw before I went, I imagined this place to be a house with a stage in its small backyard with a patio area to sit and watch the band. I was pleasantly shocked when I walked around the side of the house and entered the backyard. It's a huge area. There is a main grassy seating area with comfortable couches, groups of seats and lots of firepits. There is a huge tented area in one corner of the backyard. There are clusters of seats along the side and a table in a covered area with vines growing up the wall. There is a covered seating area with a firepit next to the outside bar and a large, isolated, sandy play area for children and their parents in another corner of the yard. BARS ===== There is a fully stocked bar to the right when you enter the building. There is a bar in the back and sometimes, depending on the crowds, they set up a bar in the front with beer and wine. I was able to use Apple Pay at the bar. FAMILIES WELCOME ================ This place is kid friendly. There were several young children and their parents attending the concert the night I went. As I mentioned there is a whole sandy play area with toys in a corner of the backyard. FOOD ===== They try to have food trucks to provide something to eat while you listen to music. The night I was there they were having a dispute with the city of Golden who didn't want food trucks parked on their streets (even though the street in front of Goosetown Station is a dead end.) So they offered Anthony's pizzas and had chips and hummus. The food they offer isn't meant to be your main meal as much as just something to help you not have an empty stomach if you're drinking alcohol. MUSIC ====== The quality of the band was outstanding. They played at a volume that was just enough to fill the backyard. They weren't trying to rock the neighborhood but the sound was sufficient to be heard over the quiet conversations of the guests. "THE FEEL" ========= At the risk of sounding sexist, this place feels like it was designed by women. In fact I only saw one man working the venue. He was the bartender inside. Other than that it was women attending to the visitors. I say it seems like women designed this place because it looked like it was deliberately planned to be comfortable, charming, welcoming and beautiful. The details of this place speak of someone who wants to create an atmosphere that goes beyond utility. Even the bathrooms are nicely decorated with candles burning. If you go to Goosetown Station, enjoy yourself and please don't change anything. It's perfect just the way it is. (Check out my pictures to see how this place looks now.)

But I was not getting anywhere even after calling saying I returned it to the Littleton, CO store. I finally got a refund 3 months later after I did a chargeback on my account. However they said they refunded me twice and charged me again without indicating they were doing this. Very poor customer service and the system they have for returns is terrible. I will not be going here ever again

She switched to flute promptly into her sixth grade year and played until she graduated eighth grade. She then switched to the cello. No issues with switching. She's been playing cello for the last year and decided she wanted to switch to keyboard. We own a keyboard. So, I went in to discuss what our options were for returning our rental and purchasing a violin for our other daughter. The gentlemen at the counter explained how much we had in rental equity, closed my account, and said I had 30 days to decide on an instrument before my equity would be no longer valid. I went in today, a few days before my equity would expire and he told me that I can only use 50% of my equity on another instrument. I asked if I switched the account to a violin could I then purchase it? He told me my account is closed already and there's nothing he can do. So, we rented for four years and just trashed over $1k in rental equity because they will not sell me a student violin using the exactly amount of equity I've built. I spoke to the same person both visits. I am very unhappy with this outcome and will not be recommending Music & Arts to any new student musicians. The whole point of this is to let children play music and figure out what they like or don't like. When a child finds the instrument they like, I would hope the music store we've been loyally renting from would be thrilled to make a purchase happen for said child so they can continue their musical journey. Really, really disappointing.

Sometimes, when it's just 15 kids for some unknown band, it's still a great time. The place is actually a record store so there's no booze, no food and no drinks. As it's a record store, it's all ages. As it's all ages, there's a no booze/no bullshit policy. Such is life in the underground. This place used to the Blast-o-mat which was a long standing grindcore/crust punk DIY venue. The shows these days are all over the board: laptop hip-hop to indie nihilism to packed ska shows. The dude running it, Aaron Saye, likes pretty much everything and seems to have an open door policy on booking shows. I always say everyone knows Aaron Saye. If you go to Denver shows and you've seen a blonde kid with a long ponytail filming, you probably know of Aaron Saye as well. The thing about Aaron is you could have seen him at Devotchka or at a tiny metal show or in the pit for a pop punk band or at a packed ska show. The dude is everywhere. He is also unfailingly nice. Not everyone who volunteers at this DIY space follows this rule to a t (lots of folks put in 20+ hour days to make this place run) but Aaron's niceness is there in spirit.
