Dr Tempel was great, my husband and I had a number of procedures done with him. Unfortunately he retired in 2020.

Great oral surgeon and a nice man. My son had his four wisdom teeth removed, two of them were impacted. All healed well. Highly recommend.

Here is a copy of an email I sent to corporate. I'll update when they respond…read more I am writing to share about my experience at the Bloomingdale location. On Tuesday, January 13th, I called into work and scheduled an emergency appointment. The dentist, dental assistant, and hygienist were very kind. They walked me through the process explaining I would need to be on antibiotics for at least two days before they could remove the tooth. The office manager helped me schedule the cleaning and extraction for the following Monday when my work was closed for MLK day. (For context, I work in Northbrook - leaving my home at 6 am and returning around 6:45 pm. Your normal business hours do not work for me.) Initially, she said she didn't have any appointments for the extraction but when I suggested I would pay for my emergency appointment and call other Aspen Dental locations so I could have the rest of the procedures done on my day off, she said she would make it work. I trusted her to do so and paid the required 50% down-leaving with a Rx for antibiotics. Yesterday, I arrived for my 1:30 pm appointment. Wanting to avoid having to talk after my extraction, I asked to take care of payment right away. (I wasn't sure how I would feel after so I wanted to be able to just leave.) During my cleaning, the hygienist told me that because my appointment for the extraction was not until 4 pm (it was just after 2:15 at that point) I was welcome to leave and run errands or hang out in the waiting area. This was the first problem. The office manager did not tell me there would be this large of a gap between appointments. Again, I would have called other Aspen Dental locations. Initially, I chalked this up to a miscommunication. Without another option, I left the office after my cleaning, returning at 3:45 pm. This was the second problem. When I walked back in, the receptionist stated that she had called me. (I was in my car in the parking lot - I never received a call.) She stated that the doctor was running late and wanted to know if I could reschedule. I explained that, no, I had specifically agreed to continue at this location because I could have both the cleaning and extraction done on my day off. She slipped in the back and spoke with the doctor. When she returned, the story had changed and she said the doctor "does not do extractions". Problem three. I questioned which was true - was she running late or did she "not do" extractions. The woman just stood there. Assuming the later was true, I then asked why they hadn't told me they were unable to do the extraction when I first arrived for my cleaning. It clearly showed an extraction on their books as I had to sign "after-extraction care" paperwork. If the dentist truly "doesn't do extractions", why go through with having me pay for the procedure and sign off on all the forms?!?!? Had I known at 1:30, I might have been able to secure an appointment at another Aspen Dental location and not be leaving in pain. The receptionist did not have an answer. She did call the Palatine location after I asked her to call other locations but, of course, they were not able to accommodate me so late in the day. So, here I am - eight days later and still in pain. All I wanted was some care and compassion for a dental emergency. While looking for your corporate customer service email, I read on the website that each location is "independently owned". Problem number four. This entire situation has me questioning if the office manager had actually arranged things as she promised on the 13th. Was everything I experienced just a ruse to ensure I remained at this "independently owned" location rather than taking my money to a different location?!?! She was quick (looking back perhaps too quick) to change her answer about appointment availability when I suggested going to a different location. I truly hope you will look into this matter and I await your response.

Hanover Park Dental Clinic - This is the result of negligence by Dr. Gundeep Singh!

February 2020 my nightmare started form Dr. Gundeep Singh do to her negligence!…read more She performed tooth extraction, bone graft, and implant at the same time. I never had implant done before and I trusted that I was in good hands and I was assured by her that everything went smooth and that the implant was sitting right after X-rays were done. I was sent home with an antibiotic and was scheduled for a follow up in two weeks..... From the start I felt something was not right but like I said never had implant done before so I thought that it might be normal what I was feeling. Week passed by and I started having a throbbing sensation and an abscessed formed so that was a sign to me that it might be infection. So I called the office with my concern was seen by Dr. Patel, she took x-rays and said that the implant is sitting correct and she doesn't see any infection. I was sent home with another round of antibiotics... Well the next day when I woke up I was in so much pain I ended up in immediate care! CT scan was done and I was told I should see a oral surgeon because the scan wasn't looking good and plus I had infection, that was on Friday on Monday I had a appointment with Dr. Gundeep so I waited to see what she says. Monday came went for my appointment , I explained to her the whole situation.... She took x-rays again and said again that implant is sitting correct and no infection around it so she doesn't really know what is going on so she referred me to an oral surgeon. My appointment was on Thursday the same Week. Oral surgeon needed to repeat the CT scan after doing that he came in to the room and shown me the scan and explained what is going on. 1st I had a severe infection on have of my face , second the implant was not even put in the Bone it was floating! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I had emergency oral surgery to clean my infection and to take the implant out another round of antibiotics. I started having panic attacks my mental state was in Jeopardy , I couldn't believe Dr. Gundeep was so negligent . This is all adding additional costs . Since then I had another surgery because I lost so much bone that the surgeon had to put mash and screws to hold the new born graft in. And I'm still without my front tooth and no implant yet! I sent the office a letter explaining what was done to me by them... They rejected the letter 3 times! What I was supposed to pay for the implant at 1st now because of her negligence it tripled! I'm tired of people not taking responsibility for their actions. I never write reviews but this time I had and needed to so no one else gets hurt by this dentist. BE CAUTIOUS, PLEASE RESEARCH AND READ REVIEWS . I never did before but trust me from now on I sure will.

My family has been going to Blackman & Bliss (Dr. Blackman in particular, though I myself have had…read moreDr. Bliss on occasion - he is also great) since the late 80's when we moved to this area. I have seen Dr. Blackman and staff for years for all of my dental needs, cleanings, fillings - even the heavier stuff like root canals, crowns, and oral surgery (Dr. Smulson comes in for wisdom teeth removal and heavy oral surgery) back in 2006. Just this past week, I have had a cleaning and three days later, 3 fillings done by Dr. Blackman and his assistants. This past week alone, my experiences couldn't be more pleasing! From the moment I walked in the office (I was actually several minutes early BOTH TIMES), the desk staff was very friendly, and told me Dr. Blackman would be right with me. Literally not more than "2" minutes after I sat down, one of the hygienists was ready for me. This is very incredible - especially in many doctor's offices (and I have been to many with my bad migraine condition) where you have to "wait and wait and wait" in the waiting room, then in the doctor's room, and so on. A+ for this. The procedures on my cleaning and then fillings a few days later BOTH started immediately - i.e. no 'waiting another 15 minutes' (like I described above at other doctors offices, as is usually customary). I was very pleased. I was a bit worried about the novocaine shots - sometimes they can hurt (depending on where certain nerves may be in the gum line) - this time they were not bad at all and Dr. Blackman was very gentle about the procedure, and the hygienist was very nice and comforting at that moment and during the entire procedure in fact. For the entire almost 2 hours, I was mostly very comfortable - both Dr. Blackman and the hygienist were very accomodating, friendly, and talkative throughout everything - which made the procedure that much easier! Dr. Blackman and staff are very thorough with everything and another BIG PLUS - I must mention - is that him and his staff will work with you with small payment plans if you need for any periods of time. My insurance recently changed and I am 'in between' carriers, and I did not want to switch dentists because I am so used to going to Blackman & Bliss and like them so much - so his staff was very happy to let me do my own payment plans with them - they are very flexible with everything if you are just open and honest with them and talk to them about your situation - Heather and all of the others are very friendly, thorough, and will answer all of your emails! I was VERY PLEASED with my services with Dr. Blackman and his staff this past week and my family and I have been throughout the many years - and would without a DOUBT recommend him and his firm for any kind of dental needs! 5 stars! Thank you Dr. Blackman, Dr. Bliss, and all the hygienists and staff!

No dentist has ever taken the time to smooth and refine my teeth the way they did--it made such a difference. You can truly tell they care about your dental health and take pride in their work. They also offer genuinely helpful recommendations without making you feel pressured. On top of that, the entire experience was enjoyable, the team is warm, welcoming, and even hilarious, which made the visit feel comfortable and relaxed. Maya at the front desk, her hospitality was superb. They were incredibly patient and kind with my 5-year-old during her cleaning, which meant a lot to us. We felt seen, cared for, and in great hands from start to finish. We will definitely be returning!

I understand that DentalWorks was replaced by Dentist in Bloomingdale and that they inherited its patients but was there communication on this ... NOPE. I tried back in November to come in for a 6 month cleaning. I was scheduled and then moved. Fine it happens. Then this happened 6 more times!! No exaggeration, and shame on me for giving them so many chances but honestly I didn't (at the time) want to go and find another dentist when I've been going to DentalWorks for 6+ years. I get my 7th request call back on Monday 2/10, and I told her my reluctance to schedule but she said "Friday 2/14 the dentist will be in and we'll definitely see you", come today to 2/12, I get a phone call saying guess what the dentist is not around and I need to reschedule again. Absolutely not, I'm not doing this anymore because why would you jerk around your patients like that? Why keep scheduling me (since November 2024!) and keep canceling. My advice to Dentist in Bloomingdale, find reliable staff because soon you will find many people in this situation will be absolutely done with this poorly managed business. If you want reliable, you won't find it here. If anyone has any suggestions of responsive and good dentists in this area, would love to get that recommendation.
