She has a very small mouth and our regular dentist was not up for the challenge. Dr. Collins is amazing. He made my daughter extremely comfortable right from the start. He was thorough in explaining everything to me and also keeping my daughter involved. I like that he spoke to her and asked her questions about how to make her comfortable. She felt like she was a part of the discussion and involved in her own healthcare choices. That is wonderful! Most DR's just talk to the parents and disregard that their patient is actually the child. He made suggestions about anesthesia while taking into consideration her other medical issues. We decided to go with a twilight sedation. The procedure was over in no time. The follow up appt. went smooth as well. The Dr's assistant is so nice and friendly. I wish all my daughter's nurses and assistants were just like her. She is in the right field. She has the personality to be dealing with people and their health. I take one star away just because the receptionist staff leave a little more to be desired. With the exception of the blonde (sorry didn't catch her name), the rest of the people in the front that you deal with seem to be bothered by having to do anything for you or answer your questions. I went to her several years ago when I had severe pain from a tooth that went bad, It had to be removed. She removed it, but I noticed even at this first visit ever with her, she was impatient about how long it took for the anesthetic to start working. But a short while after the tooth was removed my pain was gone, even later that evening. So a few months later I had a different problem with a tooth, so I went to her again. Big mistake on my part! She had to pull another tooth, and she was having extreme difficulty pulling. When she finally removed the tooth, and the anesthesia hadn't worn off yet, I was still bleeding a lot. When I went to check out and I told her I was still bleeding and in pain. She said (very snarky) "Oh you'll be alright". That was my last visit to her office.

I have not slept ever since I was seen by her! I am leaving her and will never comeback! I had the worst experience in my life.. I feel like I'm going to have PTSD over this! I came to her as a second chance because of her good reviews online. I showed up for an appointment yesterday not knowing what she is going to do with me. I arrived and the staff told me we are only doing the fillings- so okay..nervous because the last time she cleaned my teeth she hurt me. As we were talking about the fillings she asked how my bad root canal tooth was doing. I said that it did still bother me. Then she insisted we are pulling it out today instead! I was so shocked, i said NO! i wasnt ready for that. But she kept manipulating me, I feel harassed and cornered. I didnt want her to pull my tooth out but she said its for my health so I hesitatedly agreed because she is the doctor. I trusted her though I was hesitant and told her NO. Soon as the anesthesia was done she was going to pull it right away. I was shocked again because normally anesthesia takes 10 minutes or so to get working. And when she started, I felt pain! i told her and she kept telling me "it was just pressure". But in reality, it hurt like the bothering pain i would feel. After she was "done" she left a little sharp tooth hanging in my mouth!!! I noticed afterwards with all the gauze in my mouth! I cried!!!!! I dont ever want to go back to her, even if she fixes this for free! Now I can't sleep because i think about my experience!!!! My cheek felt the sharp little tooth hanging! I hate myself for coming to her. I cannot believe this is happening to me. My previous dentists never forced me to do anything that made me uncomfortable. I had to raise my hand multiple times to Maryan Michael because of how uncomfortable it was.. I've never closed my eyes and squeezed so hard during a dental visit. That was my 4th tooth being pulled out in my life and the worst ever. I literally cannot sleep and thats all that was running in my head while trying to sleep. This office is in a hospital and only ONE staff member looked put together. Maryan Michael's assistant was dressed unprofessional (wore a hoodie). Also, Maryan Michael's uniform was a mess. It had a rip on the side, as if it got snagged or someone grabbed onto it & it ripped. The light that is above you during procedure was taped up. Because of that positive experience, I brought my 9-year old son in today to have a tooth removed. My son has some special needs - he has severe ADHD, a learning disability and intense anxiety about pain. During our consultation with Dr. Scherer last month, I informed him of this and explained that my son has anxiety and fear (somewhat disproportionate to a normal level) when it comes to pain. I said, he will be VERY afraid and wI'll likely cry. I asked Dr. Scherer what he could do to help alleviate the fear. Answer: a child's dose of Valium the night before and morning of, and either laughing gas or IV sedation. I assumed those would be coupled with some understanding and a little empathy and maybe compassion for a terrified CHILD. OMG!!!! NOTHING could be farther from that. Dr. Scherer showed no empathy or compassion. Basically, he scared my son even more by saying "We can either do this now, here - or in the hospital." He demonstrated no care or understanding that my son was terrified. In fact, Dr. Scherer's demeanor was brusque, curt and slightly aggressive. He was unkind in that he used my son's fear against him instead of found or saying ANYTHING to try to allay his fear... even a little. My son was being brave and 'keeping it together' until we were told that I wasn't allowed to go into the room to hold his hand. Per Dr. Scherer, APPARENTLY, having a parent in the room makes the situation worse. Ok, maybe. I'll never know. But, I never expected the callous, brusque manner of Dr. Scherer today. I don't understand why this "hard-a$$" approach was necessary or appropriate for a scared, terrified kid with cognitive challenges. Shame on you, Dr. Scherer.

I lived in Glen Ellyn for many years and had Dr. Jansky for a dentist. I moved to Iowa and tried to find a dentist over here. My mouth is small and it is so difficult to work on that the Iowa dentist threatened me with physical violence if I did not leave. I went back to Dr. Jansky. My mouth is 50% smaller than a normal adult mouth and she is still able to fill the back teeth. She is truly an expert. The dental technicians are also fantastic. For example, the equipment for x-rays is much too large to fit in my mouth. They have several different types of commercial x-ray holders to put in the mouth. ALL of them were much too large for me so they improvised one made from materials in the office. It is quite comfortable. This dental clinic is not cheap - but you get what you pay for.

No detailed description provided to me of the bill - just lump sum charges. All is all, avoid this firm at all costs. Don't believe the other reviews they have. There are plenty of other dentist in the area that continue their education and learn new techniques that are less painful and last longer. Glen Ellyn Dental did this in the past, but no longer are they leaders - just followers.

That customer relationships are key. Tracy doesnt belong in the field of customer service.This is the main reason why many people like my self wont be going back because of people like Tracy. Super chatty, as he thinks the process out loud so as not to frighten and worry you about the final product. If it makes you more nervous he is so nice, I am sure he would zip it. Every detail was taken care of! I am very happy with my four front teeth that really had been in a war with my lowers for my first 60 years.
