I came in for a short loan on an item I had previously taken a loan out before here several years ago, and for some reason this time around, they initially tried to lowball me on the amount saying they couldn't do it for that amount, I advised them they have actually done it for this same amount request in the past. After some back and forth they ask me if I had dropped the item..The item has an intentional "cracked mirror" design and is actually quite rare. After some back and forth and the realization of this fact, they agree to loan me same amount as before. When they give me paperwork to sign, I see finance charge is +93.00 dollars! I advise I will only need loan for 3 days and am told if I bring it back in this timeframe it will then "only" be 60.00. I found this to be outrageous, but agreed to it anyhow in order to tide me over until I was to receive the funds I was expecting in a few days. I come in a day EARLIER than expected and am now told the payoff amount is even higher than what I agreed to. I ask the female employee who shows up as Employee "LLG" on my receipt (could this be the infamous and well noted "rude employee" "Linda" as I see others have complained about in previous reviews across numerous social media including HERE?) I ask her WHY is this higher than anticipated? I had came back EARLY and was told interest is daily so it should have been even LESS as far as I understood, definitely not MORE. She gets all huffy with me and flicks her fingers on her computer screen showing me her screen that shows an input field of "SET UP FEE" 3.00 and an additional "ONE TIME FEE" of 5.00 (for WHAT?) I tell her I didn't sign and agree to her computer screen, I signed and agreed to what was on my ticket and to please show me WHERE on my ticket/contract are these mysterious (and UNDISCLOSED) "fees"? She gets all ruffled because how dare I question her as to where my money is going, sighs and calls someone named "Mike" whom then agrees for her to "waive" this undisclosed BS fee I never even signed off on, nor agreed to in the first place! I'm the type of person who wants every last cent accounted for. If I am paying for something I need to know WHY and WHAT it's for if there is ANY discrepancy whatsoever. I had just taken out the EXACT amount from my ATM to pay back this debt, even EARLIER than I had to, was hot, tired, and in ZERO mood for any shenanigans, surprises, or especially.. ATTITUDE. Rather than patiently explain to me and attempt to de-escalate, she was instead, cold, unfriendly, and combative and I didn't appreciate it. That's NOT the way to treat a customer nor the community you serve. I had EVERY RIGHT to question these undisclosed charges (which plenty of others have complained about all over social media) and EVERY RIGHT to be annoyed by all of this. Waste of time coming here, the girl with acne up front wasn't much help and came off rude. Tried selling a brand new watch here, but the battery had died due to the time it was sitting and was told right away, "no pawn shop would buy it off me without it working". I also had a screen projector I was getting rid of, but it 'wasn't of value enough' for them to buy so they showed me what I could sell it online for lol. Went in to have a few old silver and gold coins looked at, had the worst experience ever with the man behind the counter. My whole experience lasted less than 5 minutes and it was awful. Took one look at one of the coins and declared it worth five dollars, when in actuality the coin in and of itself is .925 silver and therefore logically worth it's weight. Even if that's not true, his attitude was extremely superior and he was unwilling to let me get a word in edgewise. People don't just come to places like these to make a sale, and I think their employee needs to remember that being a rude know it all who doesn't bother to explain anything to the customer is not going to reflect well on the business. I had questions about the coins and others that I have at home, but I won't be asking here!
