I don't usually write reviews but this was a terrible experience. Someone from the company contacted me via linkedIn. It seemed very sincere. They asked for my references and personal information prior to any interview and then ghosted me. I feel awful giving them my personal information as well as people I know. We spoke briefly and she didn't ask anything about me or answer my questions about the job description she had provided. I don't recommend at all. Stay away from this recruitment services company. They make false promises yet are good at dangling the carrot. However, when they expect you to drop everything because it's not good for their schedule they will punish you later when they need time to reorganize. They're a contractor who markets full-time positions with their clients. Their clients make the rules but TEKsystems pretends they control the outcome. They don't and that's where frustration leads to disappointment with TEKsystems. Joseph Poon, fresh out of college, for example is one of the recruiters and failed to take the lead on securing an interview and later blamed the applicant for not being ready on his dime. read more

Kiley O'Rourke acted interested, but like all recruiters, she was only interested in fulfilling her own quota and getting paid. They removed my review from Google. This place is a awful staffing agency I was recently let go from a job (it wasn't really my fault it was more of the company I worked for) and a recruiter from this staffing agency (I believe her name was Christina Tonsil) she decided not to work with me anymore after my firing. The day I got let go I got a message from Tonsil stating my contract wasnt being renewed with the company. I then immediately responded to her message (asking why I was being let go because I was so confused by this sudden firing) she didnt really give me much information on the firing. I do remember her telling me she would help me look for another job. After that day I never heard from her again she ignored all my calls, messages and emails. I understand that job recruiters are very busy but you can at least follow up with your client through at least one of these types of communication you dont have to ignore them completely I think that's very unprofessional. Go with a different staffing agency one that has recruiters who will actually listen to you and help you in finding a job because this staffing agency is not it DO NOT WORK for this staffing agency it's full of lying, lazy and unprofessional recruiters. read more

I recently moved to Phoenix and have been trying to get in contact with a resource at TekSystems for over a month without luck. I also reached out to their corporate office in the event that the Phoenix office had closed with similar results. Bottom line, It seems that unless they want to talk to you, there is no point to call. They do not return calls despite saying (sic) your call is important to us. Don't waste your time with this company as there are many better contracting agencies out there whom actually DO return calls and are willing to help get you a role. read more

Horrible recent experience....no respect for your position in regards to follow up from account managers ever. So, there's no truth to roles. Also even worse, never pays you on time. Also will mess up on your checks back to back and never apologizes or follows up. The payroll dept is a mess plan and simple. Ignores emails and rarely calls back. This isn't the Tek Systems my family and I grew up knowing to be a compassionate and caring staff or takes care of contractors. Imagine this - you are a contractor in a troubled economy. You think your job is stable, you have a long term financial plan that depends on your job. Then you get told your contract is getting cut by 3 months, which means in 2 months you will be out of a job. Really not a bad thing. 2 months warning is enough time to find more work, right? Imagine coming into work a week later, and getting told your contract was cut again. This time, to the end of the month. In this economy, you have to find a job in less than 3 weeks. I was in this position. I was getting offered job after job that I was overqualified for, at almost half my normal salary. It was as if no one was hiring for my talent level. Newspapers, Monster.com, Careerbuilder, temp agencies, even standing on a streetcorner with a sign and a cup. Nothing really worked out. Then along comes TekSystems, pushing for me to get into that one job that paid well, was a perfect fit for me, except that I didnt have a degree. Thank you Marcia! Thank you Justin! Thank you Kristen! Thank you Derek! Words cannot express enough what it means to have a dedicated team of people looking to help you out in any way they can. If you need a job, and you are a tech, contact these guys. They are unlike any other staffing agency I have ever worked for. Exact opposite experience, No pro-active searching, no follow-up to emails or calls to positions I am obviously qualified for. One guy said he'd call me the next day, then the next week, now it's been months, so I don't waste my time on people who do not keep their word. Since I had a similar experience in another location, and their recruiters are mostly under 30 years old, I suggest that if you are over 30, do not waste your time. I don't know what their problem is, and I don't care. If they keep it up long enough they'll get sued. There are better agencies out there, and a lot of them! read more

I've had great experiences over the years with Tek. I had a contract through them for a year about 8 years ago and then recently worked with them when it was time for a new position. They ended up not being my final selection but had a good experience with them regardless. I will say they are way more legit than a lot of the "email recruiters" that appear to be popping up. You can actually visit their office and meet the staff. The recruiters are actually in town and follow up regularly...it's a company you can build a relationship and they actually work to find you your next role if you are a contractor. They are probably 4 stars as an overall company, but in the recruiting world they are certainly 5 compared to some of the bozos I've worked with. Benefits-wise, I can't speak for current prices but we did use them for medical 8 years ago. It sure beat Cobra, but that market has changed so much I have no idea what it is now. But they are big enough that they offer a full online training catalog and actually are willing to invest in their contractors from a knowledge and career standpoint. My favorite recruiter, Trent, is no longer with them, but Sam was a great guy this time around and I'll certainly stay in touch with him for when this contract runs out. He is young, but he's very eager and really wants to do well. My one tip to them is this: up the communication a bit. I was looking for a job during the holidays which is a HORRIBLE time to be searching (nobody wants to hire) and I didn't hear from them for a couple weeks. Which honestly is because of people's vacations and there being nothing out there. In fairness, I was in the middle of interviews for another hot lead and they knew that, so maybe they were waiting to see what happened. But a call every few days even if there's no update would go a long way to reduce the anxiety of job hunting. read more

Upon facing the decision to have to leave a very stable job in another location, I entered the IT job market a while ago. Throughout my experiences, I was contacted by a few TEKSystems recruiters. Let's just say that the one's that have contacted me have shown nothing but professional courtesy, interest, commitment and involvement I have friends who are IT recruiters for other companies in different states and personally they even place TEKSystems on their top 2 lists for reputation and quality of work. One must understand that not every recruiter is as committed, friendly, and professional as the next (no different than us techs/engineers), but from my experience the 3 personnel involved in my recent successful "professional transition" were very committed to ensuring I land an ideal, fitting role in terms of comfort, salary, team environment, etc. If I can sum up their best quality in one phrase it would be FOLLOW UP. read more

TEKSystems has been phenomenal in getting me employment. I moved to Phoenix mid 2013 and tried for weeks to get employment on my own. I have a bachelors degree and prior experience in IT, but I was getting little to no calls and the few interviews I did land didn't go anywhere. A Tek recruiter happened to be at a career fair I went to and gave me his card with a guarantee that they could find a good fit for me in little time. I sent over my resume and had a short chat with Justin and was contacted about a week later with a great helpdesk position. Their recommendation to the employer exponentially sped up the process of me interviewing and getting hired. When that contract was up they landed me another job within a month! Having recently worked with the Tempe office for about a year I can say with certainty "I've seen better!" The issues I had stemmed from a severe lack of communication from the recruiters. Not all of them were bad apples, but 1 in 5 would actually be reasonably helpful with job-related anything. The rest, however... If you had questions about your contract, expectations, or insurance... Ask the front desk who route you 4 different places before you got an answer. Which may or may not have been correct or applied to your actual needs. Also requests for things they as a company supply per your contract, 2-4 months per request for the supplies. Also required a multitude of attempts with an entire group of people to get it done. Most of it just made everyday tasks exceptionally difficult to complete. I understand a busy recruiter but multiple months to fulfill a request for job required PPE was just silly. Otherwise, their candidate placement was questionable as our contracts were regularly a max of 6 months. Swearing up and down its 6-month contract to hire position... Then 3 of us get dropped and none of the contractors get hired. Fine for temp contract placement, but I would steer clear if you're in need of more permanent work! Or just in general I would not want to go back for anything except the health insurance was actually decent. read more

If I could give this agency no stars, I would. Working with this agency has been one of the biggest mistakes of my entire life. I was 100% mislead and when I finally realized what kind of situation I was in, their only comment was to give me a copy and pasted picture of the job description. I will never be working with this company again and many of my coworkers that also worked with Teksystems are gladly leaving.
