I have owned 4 Wheelers, Snowmobiles, Road/dirt bikes my entire life! I decided in April of 2011 to try the side by side market. I went to Teixeiras after shopping around the Tri State area, as they seemed to offer the best deal! I Bought a 2011 Polaris RZR 800 LE. I also purchased a hard top roof, Half windshield, after market 14" tire package (Machine already had them on it as it was sitting on showroom floor that way) a Plow and winch, and front and rear pre runner bumpers. In total i spent around $16,000+ and I paid cash for it. The dealer is 72 miles from my house, but they assured me that I should use them because they would take care of me! The first week I had the ATV the Winch burnt out the clutch, and the battery died. I took it 72 miles (One Way) back to them, they FIXED not replaced, the Winch and upgraded me to the HD battery. No Charge. 1 week later while plowing snow for the very first time with this unit, my plow bent and broke a bolt that holds it attached to the plow frame, rendering it useless. This happened because the nut attached to the bolt was the wrong size and upon the very first swipe of pushing snow EVER with this plow it popped the nut and broke the bolt. A phone call and ANOTHER 72 miles 1 WAY they fixed it and put the correct nut and washer on it this time! They Charged me nothing.
3 weeks later on my very first big ride with a group with my NEW Polaris RZR I punctured a hole in the gas tank. I had assumed the RZR had proper protection for the gas tank, and never looked. The machine had the factory plastic skid plate but no steal plate under where tank sits! Compare to any other UTV and they all have it....not the RZR! And that would have been fine, but the plastic skid plate had a 3 inch drain hole rite under where the tank sits, and that is where the stick came through to puncture it. (Not Dealers fault..Polaris Industries fault) Another 72 miles (144 round trip) to drop the machine off so they could fix it. Asked dealer they said there was nothing they could do for me, contacted Polaris, they refused to stand behind there product, and said it was user error. I spent another $850 to put all aluminum skid plate on it to protect it properly, and dealer did nothing for me but give me a 10% cash discount, and charge me the ridiculous $100 an hour labor rate! 144 miles round trip and 3 weeks later I had my RZR back. 3 weeks later on another ride with a group of 9 ATV riders, I crossed a river that was fender high, as did 9 other riders, my RZR took water into the belt! 72 miles later and a hard time from the owner telling me " I shouldn't be doing water crossings and that I must have crossed much deeper then I am saying" turns out the belt case was warped, a factory defect! Covered by warranty! I had it serviced while it was there.....dealer charged me full price!!!!!!! 144 miles round trip again to pick it up!
1 month later I am riding when I feel banking and clunking around in the ass end. After stopping and looking it over, turns out the three bolts that hold the rear transfer case to the frame, all came lose and fell out!!!!! I had to park it and call for a ride home. When i got home, I just fixed it my self. I called the dealer and let them know! 2 months later while riding it in sand dunes ripping around spinning the tires, the belt burnt up on me! The Machine had 575 miles on that when it happened!!!! 72 miles later they tell me its operator error, that I dint use low gear enough, and that I was pushing it too hard in the sand?????? $210 and 5 hours later I traveled the other 72 miles home. 2 months later I am using the winch and it burns out AGAIN!! While I am lading it on my trailer to take it back to the dealer, my throttle cable freezes, and I cant get it on my trailer. After getting a friend to help me push it on, and 72 miles later the dealer finally replaces Winch with a HD winch. ONLY BECAUSE the company warrantied it! They told me if they didn't warranty it, they would have charged me to fix it! They tell me the was water in in the throttle cable line and that warranty would cover it but I would have to pay a $50 deductible. I get it home and 3 weeks later doing 20 miles an hour in an open feid with my 8 year old son as a passenger, the belt burns up again! It only had 70 miles on it from when it was last replaced from the last time. 72 miles later, the Owner tells me that I must be doing something to it, that its operator error!!! Charges me 154 dollars to put new belt on and tells me there is nothing wrong with machine. I tell him that this is ridiculous at this point with machine and that he should cover the costs! he tells me no. We had a very heated discus ion about his integrity as a owner of a dealer ship. Assure him that this is the last time he will see me any of my friends or ATV associations I deal with, and he has him self to thank. He just cost his dealership thousands upon thousands of dollars because he wouldn't cover $154! read more
