Haven't been here is a few years.... Why ?? Don't know. ‍. The food is always good. Today is Saturday..... stopped for lunch. Walking in reminds what we've missed. The cooking smells are awesome !! The Bartender was friendly as we sat down at the bar. She brought us a small dish of brined pickles (which are refreshing & the BEST !! ) I ordered a glass of wine & my favorite for a Saturday, the Bison short rib with mashed potatoes & carrots. Tender, delicious and the carrots were firm with a nice buttery flavor. My husband ordered the Bison meatloaf.... Which was very moist & flavorful. NO added salt needed for it was seasoned perfectly. We don't live near Estero, and the other location is in Jacksonville.... would love to stop in more often... but I guess an occasional stop will have to do. YES.....highly recommended. read more

It's been a year since our last visit to Ted's Montana Grill. Ordinarily, I might not do another review. But a couple of things were so odd that I must give an update ... and that also means downgrading our experience to three stars. Hopefully management will see this review. It was a post-Christmas Monday, and we did not have reservations. That seemed fine as it was quite empty when we arrived. Had a long wait to be seated and then it was a booth way at the back of the room. I wish we would have said something. In hindsight, we were probably seated there due to available servers and convenience of later parties who were seated towards the front as the restaurant filled up. But it was more walking than DH needed. DH enjoyed his bison bacon cheeseburger. Very messy, but very tasty. (Bison is the one reason we keep coming back to Ted's.) His first choice on draft beer was not available so he settled for the Sam Adam's Cold Snap. With dessert in mind, I had a cup of the bison chili. Better than expected. I had a chopped salad ... side salad size. Many ingredients but odd proportions. Several items seemed like an afterthought. The one item that I wish had been an afterthought was the red onion. Overpowering in flavor ... almost the only thing I could taste. There was also an odd triangle of toast with the salad. Very little flavor. My memory may be faulty, but I seem to remember Ted's use to have biscuits or cornbread. Even a small biscuit or bit of cornbread would have been preferable. I was happy with my Malbec wine. Perhaps not the best choice for the salad, but very good with the chili. On to dessert ... I always look forward to the seasonal apple pecan crisp. Our server Ed said it would take ten minutes to prepare. No problem. I knew it was a very large portion and expected to ask for a takeout box. With that in mind, I asked for the ice cream on the side. Here's where things got strange. Ed brought the check right after we had placed the dessert order and expected us to settle the bill before we had the dessert! What? When the dessert arrived, the ice cream was smack in the center. I reminded Ed that I asked for it in a separate dish. He seemed perplexed so plopped it on a small bread plate (unused) that was still on the table. Ed was certainly friendly enough. Maybe new on the job? More training needed! The dessert was as I remembered ... delicious when warm. Very sweet. Still short on pecans as I noted in a past review. Yes, we will be back for the bison, the apple crisp, and the cute coasters. Just hope the servers get more training. read more

Always had my eye on Ted's but discovered it's like most chains, humdrum food, inconsistent help, "just ok". A friend & I went there for light lunch. Friend got the sliders, I chose the bison chili with the special of brussel sprouts ont he side. Chili was delicious, sprouts were "meh", soft not crispy (didn't appear grilled). Liked the dill pickles on the table but seemed 2 different batches, some were soggy. Service was good at first but then server disappeared for check and we wanted dessert first. Brownie was not "cut-able" more like solid fudge. Ice cream wasn't very "rich". Never tasted the kahlua. All this for over $50. and wayyyy too long a wait for dessert and check. Had another great meal at Ted's for lunch today. We were seated right away, it's off-season, so the restaurant was quiet but not like a ghost-town. They've really kept this location up, everything was very clean including the restrooms. My wife and I shared a NY strip steak, mashed potatoes and garlic Parmesan steamed broccoli. We started out with grilled shrimp and a lump crab cake. The food was excellent, steak was cooked perfectly medium-rare, seafood wasn't overcooked, Caesar's salad wasn't overdressed. The kitchen does a magnificent job as did our server. I didn't catch our server's name but she was very attentive, pleasant and we never felt rushed or hovered over. read more

She took care of everyone within a timely manner, had a great sense of humor, and provided excellent customer service. 11/10/23 returned with a large group of 12 for lunch around 2 pm. Plenty of parking which is a plus when your group is all on Harley Davidsons. They accommodated us inside with ease. Everyone was very friendly and they had clean restrooms. There was a big goof up with my order and it wasn't placed with the cook. The manager came by promptly with sincere apologies. Waited to be seat, at a non busy time by the looks of the place. There was only five tables full in the entire restaurant. I counted over three different waiters, walk past my table and still waited over 17mins at table and no server came to take our order. Worst experience ever! read more

Had the pleasure of visiting Ted's Estero after having not been there in years. Was very happy to see Anya, now a manager, who has been there since the beginning. She was always one of the sharpest people in the store so it was good to see her in charge. The meal was very good - salads and burgers for our party of four. I realized I missed their bison burger, it is the best I've ever had. Whitney did a great job of ensuring that we were comfortable and well taken care of. Went back a few days later and the experience was just as good. I am not a salad person, but I make exceptions for theirs. Went there for lunch. Great service started as soon as we walked in. Very attentive staff. Didn't order starters, went straight for the entrees. Wife ordered a Beef New York strip, I ordered a Bison ribeye. Had fries, onion rings for sides. Served in good time and food was delicious! Meat was the right temperature. Waitress was very attentive. Had room for dessert and it was amazing! I didn't pay attention when my wife ordered it but I definitely did when they brought it to the table. I want to compliment this establishment for very good service and clean food and kitchen. I truly enjoy their grilled chicken Caesar salad anytime I come here, it has a homemade light and fresh lemony style no yolk Caesar dressing. The romaine lettuce is noticeably fresh and crispy every time. The portions are very generous and good value on prices. I've even got this as a take-out ordered easily online. Our company holiday dinner was held here this year. They were very accommodating for a large group. Adequate space even tho in a public room of the restaurant. Yummy baskets of Potato Chips galore-- with dip that reminded me of gramma's onion dip. They are something special. I hade a beef fillet steak and my hubby had the bison fillet. They both were delicious and tender. The difference was the texture of bison was more gritty. It seemed to be less juicy than the beef. Both were tender, flavorful. I love the Ted's in Jacksonville so when I saw that they had one in the area we had to go. Ted's is a casual restaurant offering mosy Bison and Buffalo burgers/steak options. They do have a few chicken and seafood options as well. Ted's burgers are always super fresh and not greasy. They have so many options it's hard to decide which is my favorite. Their bison is also lean and a pretty good healthy option if youre looking to cut calories. We ordered the bison chili- amazing, right amount of spice and filling, a burger topped with grilled jalepenos and guacamole. It was really good! Def recommend. They also give you complimentary house pickles which are a must try. The restaurant staff wore masks, menus are digital - you have to scan the code on your phone to view it, and tables were spread out. Food was pretty mid for how much I paid. Ted's bison was okay but more cooked than I ordered it and for $67 something kinda crazy. Mac and cheese was like soup. Came with lots of mashed potatoes also okay, not a fan of skins or the chunks, but not the best overall. Think it was also pretty garlicky if you don't like garlic. Returning after 2 years of Covid break. This place keeps churning those fabulous bison burgers as they always have. My personal favorite for several years have been the Crab cakes & fresh lemonade. This time I tried the bison sliders (starter) as a meal & devoured the entire thing. Comes with fried potato chips. Family friendly cozy atmosphere (with added touch of bison head for a wall decor) . Ample space with several booths . They usually provide pickles to start off before your meal comes but they were out of stock but our server kindly got us some saved at the bar. Teds is a great place to go with the steakhouse atmosphere. We were seated in a big spacious comfortable booth and the room is filled with big sky pictures from Montana. There's a very large full-size buffalo mounted on the wall that if you've ever been there you'll never forget. I ordered the buffalo ribeye steak with onion rings and pan seared brussels sprouts with bacon. My wife only ordered the chopped salad. We ordered drinks but for some reason the drinks didn't arrive until after our food was served to the table. My buffalo ribeye was served medium rare and cooked to perfection. The plate presentation was a little dull, maybe boring . A small steal with 5 onion rings. Not impressive. The steak was delicious, I never realized how good buffalo really tastes. The pan fried brussels sprouts we're good they could've been cooked slightly longer and the onion rings were crispy and delicious. My wife had the chop salad which looked pretty dull and plain but she said tasted darn good and she truly enjoyed her salad for dinner. She said the dressing was very good. I have always loved Teds Montana Grill. I recently stopped in for lunch by myself. Say at the bar and noticed that the bar was dirty. All of it. I asked the server for a cloth napkin to set down. Lunch was ok. I usually get a plain ceased salad but I added chicken and do the croutons were soggy. Finished my meal and started to look around. The floor around the bar is filthy. All the wood and trip is super dusty. Tables need bussed. I always think the manager should not stop until it's all clean. For this reason I probably will think twice about coming back. read more

We eat here weekly and sometimes twice a week. We love the management team and Whitney the bartender. We were recently told that "corporate" changed things so that Whitney and other bartenders can't seat guests during specific times, which are the times we are usually there. This change apparently was made due to one bartender in a totally different location that didn't clean the bar area in a timely manner while Corporate visitors were there. So we are all getting punished for one persons lack of performance. I guess we will need to find another place to spend our time and money as the experience and relationships with Whitney and the management team mean more to us than the food.
