Wow where to begin... I suppose the front door will do. We were greeted by customers exiting who were talking about how bad their service was. Then, a wall of stink coming from the bathroom right next to the front door. The woman checking us in was not attentive and seemed not familiar with their digital system, taking a while to find our reservation. Our server was pretty good but fairly aloof. The food was poor. Crab cake starters were overwhelmingly flavored, cauliflower undercooked. Our lobster raviolis were bland and there was a stray piece of potato on them. My grilled shrimp was not grilled, tasted frozen, and was seasoned with too much pepper. During our dinner there were several servers in and out chatting around a couple tables that another couple servers were folding silverware while looking disgruntled. Tldr; I could buy a better $5 frozen meal than the $40 I paid here. read more

This was my first time at Rumrunners for dinner and it was delicious! We got one pound of cold peel and eat shrimp. They were definitely the best peel and eat shrimp I've ever had!! They were very large shrimp, served on ice, and tasted so fresh! We will definitely be getting these again. We sat outside and it was very nice. After sunset, it got very buggy and our waitress accommodated us and moved us inside. The service was excellent! For my entree, I got the seafood mac and cheese, which was full of shrimp and scallops. I would definitely get this again. It was very tasty. The sauce isn't a typical cheesy Mac and cheese sauce, and it compliments the seafood very well. Someone I was with got the salmon. It came with rice, beans, and plantains. Understaffed at best. Negligent at worst. We were told this was a great place to go so we made a dinner reservation for our group. Fridays are busy in the winter. I completely get that. It took us 10 minutes to be greeted and another 10 for us to get drinks. Dinner took another 45. Unfortunately, most of it was overcooked or underwhelming. The tuna poke bowl was a delicious exception. You could tell staff were trying their best but were stressed and stretched way too thin. That creeped into the service and demeanor. The real kicker was when the toddler was served a vodka water. Yep, you read that right. Instead of a water, the toddler got one with a shot of vodka. We quickly figured it out and told the server but it seemed to be more of an inconvenience than anything. This place has so much potential but I don't see us coming back again. read more

Unfortunately 3 out of 6 of our family members got food poisoning last night (Feb 6) from the Salmon meal (Caribbean Mojo Salmon). I've filed a complaint with Florida DBPR. I'm sure they'll pull this post down like they did my last one to hide it. This is a nightmare for my 86 year old in-laws who are visiting and myself. Will never ever be back! Nice "boathouse" vibe, on the river. Very nice views. Family friendly restaurant, and even has a big sandbox outside. There were 4 of us dining, and all ordered different things. Wife ordered seafood pot pie. She said it was amazing. I ordered the French onion soup, and slow cooked beef short ribs. They were both done to perfrction, and full of flavor. Cousins ordered airline chicken, and Moho salmon. Again, both raved about the meal. We truly enjoyed the meal. Our server was Haley. She is very friendly and professional. Really hate to leave bad reviews, but must be honest. First time to Cape Coral and we are here for 10 days. We picked 10 restaurants to hit this week and Rumrunners was our second meal. I was pretty excited they offered prime rib on Sundays (only Sundays). Started with an old fashioned. I checked out the bar as we walked to our table and they had a good selection of additive free tequilas and bourbon. It's kinda hard to mess up an old fashioned, but it was horrible. Cruise ship old fashioned are better. Again, not sure how you mess up an old fashioned. Ordered the prime rib and added a dinner salad. They brought my steak and salad at the same time. Not ideal, but okay. The steak was one of the worst cut of beef I have ever had. On vacation and just sucked it up, but very disappointing to spend $155 and it be a bad meal. Maybe we just went on a bad night, the head chef was off, or maybe stick to seafood. Another great place to eat! We all went here for lunch an wow!!! We were greeted right away as we walked in and decided we wanted to sit outside by water which was a great call because the weather was amazing and the view was great. Our server came over right away and took our drink order then gave us time to look over the menu. We finally decided what we wanted to eat and gave her our order. Food came out in a timely manner, and everything was perfect. My husband and I shared a large wedge salad and the bacon ranch chicken flatbread. My sister and brother in law shared the shrimp wrap with a Caesar salad. When it all came out, I couldn't believe how much food we had. The portions were huge and all the food looked amazing. Our flatbread was so good and the wedge salad was perfect. My sister said the shrimp wrap and the Caesar salad were very good as well. The service was spot on. She was training the girl that waited on us and I have to say she did an amazing job. Our drinks were always full and they were always checking to make sure we had everything we needed. This place has it all great food great service and great prices with amazing views. I also love how they have it decorated on the inside and how you can shop for merchandise if you feel like having some of the cute stuff they have in the shop. I was with a group of about 30 for lunch and everything was very nice, especially the location and ambiance. We were served quickly and our food came out pretty fast too. I ordered the shaved steak on a roll. The serving was generous, but the roll was charred, beyond the level of roasting I like to eat. The way it was served made it impossible to pick up. $19 and a $12 Rumrunner drink left me with a $38 check ...for one person! If the meal was delicious, I wouldn't mind, but the sandwich that sounded good wasn't. I just feel that all meals being served should come out delicious in a restaurant. I don't complain, but like another's review, the waitress didn't come back till bill was served. The $38 did include tip. read more

We heard great things about this place. Went with friends. Ambiance was nice. We thought it would be the place to order lobster tail. Asked for my side of asparagus to be cooked till soft. Onion soup was first, and was delicious!!! However, Lobster was gross. Small, mushy and flavorless and asparagus was crunchy. Server never came back to see if we were satisfied. Super disappointing. We stopped in on Labor Day to listen to the music and have a drink. The waitress was Haley, but she refused to even acknowledge us - even though she served the table next to us. She was friendly and attentive to everyone else. It was crazy that she refused to serve us! After 20 minutes my husband finally went to the bar to get us drinks. While he was there another worker came to ask if we had been taken care of. I told her nobody ever came so my husband finally just went to the bar. STRONG 4.5 STARS HERE.... Beautiful waterfront restaurant and full liquor bar with boat access. A local Cape Coral cop told us this place had an excellent view and great food and he would know. Sat right at the waterfront patio tiki counter. Listed to the live bubblegum music (everyday 1p - 4p) he played by my request a John Cougar song and he was pretty good. Watched boats pull right up and fuel up their boats then tie them up and goto the restaurant. The inside had plenty of wines and beers on tap. Literally hundreds of seats inside and out. Even a sandbox with toys for kids on premise. Good size front parking lot and clean bathrooms. The server Katlan was super friendly and told us the Crispy Grouper $19 was insanely good in addition to the Hazly ipa from Ft Myers Brewery.
