The food was terrible! My family and I used to come here... come here a year later and it was so bad. Raw hashbrowns. 2 waitresses were only dancing around and talking.. leaving tables just sitting. Stopped by the drive through tonight 8/25/2023 around 6pm and ordered the steak dinner and fish and chips that they didn't give us Tarter and Lemon for even though they asked. But I'm Not expecting anything great it's Teds after all but what I got wasn't steak. IT WAS A BURGER PATTY. I've ordered the steak before and know what it is and what I received is not what I ordered. What hurts more is the fact that I was asked twice what my order was and the fact that the COOK instead of telling me they are out of steak hands me a box with with a damn burger patty as if it's good enough. Seriously needs to be better, not that upset I just wasted 14 bucks on something I didn't order but more so that the cook and waitress seen the "steak" and thought it was good enough. Wow. What can I say but these were the worst coney dogs ever. The hot fog was about the size of a pencil. The chili was all grease and I couldn't find any meat. The onions were so finely chopped that they were basically non existent. I know they were only $.99 but not normally. Teds we are never coming back. So sad. Service was ok. Cleanliness was fine. My boyfriend and I dined in last night for a Friday Night Date Night. We wanted to go to a restaurant in Chesterfield but we knew we would have to wait close to an hour at any restaurant so we choose Teds. Teds was busy but not crowded and no wait. We were seated immediately and got our drinks ordered. I ordered the chicken delight with chili and cheese fries, while my boyfriend ordered a patty melt with cole slaw. Service was very fast and we got hot food fast. Awesome! The chili isn't anything spectacular or anything to write home about but it will do. The chicken delight is a pita with chicken tenders, Swiss and American cheese and mayo. Yummy! Probably the mayo is the best part. My boyfriend and I like to enjoy ourselves and we are pretty slow eaters but our waitress was talking to another co workers and said to the other waitress 'I'm just waiting for that table (pointing to my table) to leave so I can go home' At that point we felt really rushed. She already dropped off our bill when our meals came up so there was no chance of even ordering dessert. We are tipping you, no need to make smart ass comments to other employees. A great restaurant! I just had another stellar breakfast with my buddy. It's almost like you sit down, hot coffee is delivered, you order breakfast and a couple minutes later the meals arrive. I mean, they are quick when breakfast is served. Today we ordered omelets and they were excellent Table service is always top notch! Of course, being located at the crossroads in Richmond, you get to see a lot of traffic go by, and every once in a while, there are a few classic cars parked in their parking lot. read more

My family and I love this place! I really enjoy the chicken delight with the chicken lemon rice soup! They also make the best Arnold palmers when ever I come here!! Great for families. This Coney Island continues to impress. They have great staff and the food portions have remained consistent, not overly large but fair. They have a few daily specials. I love ordering the fish sandwich here and their chili cheese fries I think are the best in Richmond. read more

Visited during COVID-19. Got out of my car and peeked inside before going through the drive-thru and all of the staff had masks on. Greatly appreciated. Ordered gyro and fries. At first, I was a little bummed at the tiny tzatziki side that came with it...until I tried the gyro. It was great! Didn't need any more sauce than what was given. Meat was juicy (a lot of other places serve dry gyro meat in my experience) and the pita was soft and hot even after my 8 min drive. The fries are standard medium-thin diner fries, and were very crispy and hot. They were smart enough to put them separately in a paper bag so they didn't steam up and get soggy. They were sparing with the ketchup packets as well but the fries were great on their own. Overall very good and will return. read more

Wow drive thru service has really went down. Ordered a small Greek salad, coney special and some fried mushrooms. Was handed the food and wasn't asked if I wanted any salt, ketchup or utensils so I figured they were in the bag....... NOPE! Then I just went to eat my salad and go looking for the pita bread.....there wasn't any. Unless the menu have recently changed, I have always gotten pita bread with this salad before. Apparently a "Port Huron" style coney (I said Detroit previously lol). Still trying to figure out the difference. Downgrading my review a bit (because there are other choices now for me), but wish I could give it 3.5 stars. I just never found my go to "dish". Really loved the fish sandwich for a while. But then it tasted a bit different (maybe it was just a one time fluke). I prefer their claim chowder over other places because it doesn't have an overwhelming amount of potatoes (actually I think none). Waitresses are great! Good place to take kids since it's fairly quick and prices are good. But your basic coney place. read more

I wrote this review as a service to humanity. Please do yourself a favor and never order a coney dog from Ted's. Don't fall for the various daily specials in which the coney's are offered at discount prices. It's a ploy to sell you what are quite possibly the WORST coney dogs in the history of food. Seriously. Where does one start? El-cheapo ingredients come to mind first. The hot dogs are the really cheap kind, a helpless pale colored bologna with no snap or chew to the bite and an overall shape formed in a press-mold. It's the soft bargain hot dogs your grandmother said to never eat for fear of passing genetic malformations to future generations. Cold and barely grilled, the dog had luke-warm humidified sweat beads dripping down it's sides. The chili was a strange watered-down orange-brown color. It was sprayed over the hot dog like diarrhea after Fido ate the Halloween pumpkin. Genetic testing should be completed to locate the existence of meat in the chili. Even the onions were bad. Old and translucent cut in various shapes and sizes ranging from a tiny chip to a hockey players front tooth. The mustard was the typical table-side stuff touched by all the infected patrons who sat at the table before you. The buns? Ever go shopping for hot dog buns when planning a summer BBQ for B-list guests? Yes? Then the routine is well known, skip the Pepperidge Farm stuff and go for the really cheap ones on the bottom shelf. Ted's does the same thing when choosing a bun except it's one shelf lower. It's the misshapen ones that look like little coffins fused together by a cheap flour joint with an ingredient list straight from a Sarnia oil refinery. These were the cheapest buns in the history of buns. The taste? After one bite, a strange chemical brew came to fruition in my mouth reminiscent of Hot Tamale candy and Old Spice cologne stewed in the armpit of a New York hobo. My God, this is bad. Really bad. Never again. I felt like barking at the table. You could sell these things at 10 cents apiece and I would never order them again. Even if a holocaust struck. The experience took 6 months off my life span. STAFF/ETC? Lot's of down-home muffin top waitresses looking to pay the rent and unshaven cooks with multiple strip-mall tattoos over their deliberately exposed limbs added to the overall ambiance. The french fries and patty melt weren't bad, the Greek salad had wilted lettuce straight from the bag (more like Albanian salad), the pop was flat. I did like the bright decor, the roomy booths and multiple hang gliding TV's, hence the one star overall rating. Welcome to Zombie Coney. No, change that, more like The Hog Fart Cafe. I love the food here but the attitude towards keeping the virus in-check is obviously not important to them. A sign on the door says "no mask, no service". We were there on 9/8 and watched a group of 8 teenage boys walk in, get escorted to a table with no masks in sight, much less on their faces. Not one employee questioned them! Some, not all, of the waitresses had their masks below their noses. A lot of the patrons were walking back and forth to the restrooms without a mask on and none of the employees were correcting them. I hate to say this but this is the last time we plan on going to Ted's until the virus issue is over. read more

Disappointed. This is my parents favorite Coney Island and I gave it a shot today to spend time with them. It was meh. Got the Hani (known as the chicken delite here) and it was cold, the cheese wasn't even melted. This is also the only Coney Island that I've ever been to that doesn't serve saginaki and I was really looking forward to it. Sad face. The waitress we had was super crabby and annoyed with us because more family showed up than expected and we had to switch tables.
