This is my go to family style local restaurant. The breakfasts are always cooked to order (and I'm a very picky eater), and you get more than enough. The lunches are also fantastic! Their grilled chicken is out of this world, whether ordered on a sandwich or one of their heaping salads. Anything I have ordered has been delicious. The staff and owners are wonderful. The waitstaff are on top of everything. And always friendly and kind. The owners are on site and involved. They are super sweet. The staff keeps me coming back, as well as the food. And if you're in a hurry, you don't have to wait forever for your meal. And if you want to take your time, they don't rush you out. I took my mother Inlaw here as she used to go with her late husband all the time and boy was I completely surprised about this place! The menu was big and had many different options and the service was excellent as well. Just tried this place recently for the first time. Boy have I been missing out. I've been a handful of times now. The food is great and the prices are great. I've only had to things this far.... Grecian bowl, and the Doctor salad. Both are outstanding. This is 100% better than fast food for a much better price. read more

Rainy day in Richmond as we were driving through decided to try a local restaurant. Looked like a standard older diner nothing special about the Decor. Staff was friendly and efficient. Didn't look like they were struggling with staff shortage. Looking through the menu, appeared they were trying to feed every taste from Italian, American, Greek, etc. I opted for a bowl of homemade chicken soup (rainy day option) and a Greek dinner salad. Husband chose Salisbury steak that came with salad, mash potatoes and green beans. Pleasantly surprised my soup was nicely prepared and my salad had a blend of olives, feta and other add one. The Salisbury steak was tasty and well prepared, the green beans were not to my taste or my husbands, they were over seasoned with garlic salt. Mash potatoes were fine and gravy was tasty. We were pleasantly surprised with everything except the green beans, the cook may wish to be a little lighter with the seasoning. Normally I like green beans. The restaurant was very reasonably priced for the quality and portion sizes. Why do fast food at the same price when you can receive freshly made meal at this local gem. read more

I have lived in Richmond for seven years, and now I know why I have avoided this place this whole time living here. Today it was a choice between driving into Shelby for First Watch or staying in town and stopping in Papou's based on these reviews. I have no idea why anybody has given 5 stars about this place. The food was disgusting and I might as well have thrown 40 bucks for breakfast out the window. The bacon was so yucky and salty, the hashbrowns tasted like rancid oil, and the eggs were just bleh. My son had an omelette and he said it was dry and disgusting. Even the water in the cup tasted chemically disgusting. The staff is overly friendly, which is nice, but my waitress went into the bathroom when I was in there and she blew her nose. I had to ask her if she was going to wash her hands. She walked out of the bathroom and washed her hands in the sink behind the counter. So later in this day, my husband and I both have diarrhea from this place. A complete waste of money, a waste of time, and it's not pleasant with a sick stomach. Avoid, avoid - I should have just gone to First Watch. read more

We found this place after going to the Armada Flea Market on a Sunday morning. We managed to just beat the crowd as it was lined up out the door when we left. The food was delicious and the prices were incredibly low. I got a veggie egg white omelette with tomato slices (other choices were hashbrowns or pancakes) and rye toast for $5.69!!! My friend got the pancake special that came with eggs, sausage and 6 silver dollar pancakes for $5.99. Like I said, this was a Sunday so those were not special weekday prices those were their regular prices!! Service was good and the food was great I would definitely come back here again!! read more

A great place to visit for breakfast. I think one of the best in Richmond. Great portion sizes and ample seating available for large groups. They have an extensive menu and have several seasoned servers on staff. The food is served as described, accurate and the staff is attentive. Some family diners crank out some decent food. This place doesn't, they crank out great food. Wide choices from breakfast to dinner and dessert. The coney special is great, the strawberry waffles are great, but the Greek salad is superb. Nice friendly people, working hard to make sure you leave happy and with a full belly. I go here once in awhile. I love their food. It is a Greek restaurant. Their food is not expensive, but very good. I had the flaming cheese ( I don't know how to spell the actual name for it ) that is amazing! Then I had a bowl of lemon rice soup. The soup was very hot when I got it and took awhile to cool off. Thy have the best Arnold Palmers I have ever had. The chicken pot pie is so good and worth your money! So the reason why I only give them four stars is because, of there bathrooms!! The bathroom stall door does not lock. ( they only have one stall ). And then when you try to go to the bathroom while trying to hold the door closed, someone will walk in. Lucky I was out of the bathroom when they did. Not convenient at all. Please fix your bathroom! Overall the food is great for under $10. It's a quick, good, dinner! Nothing fancy.
