Specifically, Annette his medical assistant is abrasive and unprofessional. Her demeanor comes off as though you are lucky she is taking your call. Which led to many protracted and inefficient exchanges in an effort to complete the care that was promised. This situation even caused us to be without medically necessary prescriptions. If you have a tele-med appointment, expect him to be at least an hour late every time. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere for quality care.

Dr Carlson takes a very personal approach with her care, where she almost feels like a family member because she wants to know about how you feel and what you've been up to since she saw you last to ensure she can offer real advice that will apply to you, not a textbook stock response. She really listens when you're describing symptoms or ailments and takes notes in your chart as you converse. She offers options, never hesitates to suggests further testing yet doesn't order unnecessary labs or tests either. If your schedule is flexible, you can often get a same or next day appt. To give you an idea of how wonderful she is, I drive 30+ miles to see her and there are plenty of options much closer to home.

When I called to find out why, they would not provide a reason for declining to accept me telling me that they had the right to deny me. I asked to know the reason and was pretty much told that because I wanted an answer to that question, that was exactly the reason I wouldn't fit in with their practice. I recently saw Dr. Filbrandt at Interventional Pain Solutions in Chico for an electromyogram and…read morenerve conduction study. While the front-desk experience at this clinic could definitely be improved, Dr. Filbrandt himself is excellent. I've had the same procedures done by him years ago when he was at Enloe and he's great. He's highly experienced, intelligent, kind, has a good memory and really listens. I absolutely recommend him for any nerve testing. As for the clinic itself, I can't speak to the other pain specialists but one downside is that it's impossible to reach a real person by phone and they don't have a patient portal, either. Personally, the only reason I'd go to Interventional Pain Solutions is to see Dr. Filbrandt.
