13 years since stumbling into Jane at her Shampoo Dolls spot in Santana Row, I still find myself looking for some good old fashion pain on her waxing table (though much less often now). They're convenient, FAST, and easy to book. Any one of Jane's well trained girls will do you right. 7/10 pain, not gonna lie, but they're so fast and funny you forget you're spread eagle waiting for them to rip the hairs off your . read more

I have been coming to Ted D Bare for about 2 years. I will not go anywhere else!!!!! I would just book with anyone to get a vibe from everyone and that is how I found my girl Rika. I had 4 different waxers, and loved them all. When I meet Rika, she had a feeling of comfort. She is so quick that I don't even notice it's done. She keeps the conversation going so there is NEVER any awkward silence. She is my therapist and she never leave Ted D Bare.... If I could give her 10 stars I would. read more

Rika and the other aestheticians at Ted D Bare are so professional and great I was so nervous my first time and they make you feel comfortable. I would recommend them 1000%. I've been going for a couple years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

There is no other place that waxes better in all of the state. I get Brazilian waxes and literally feel no pain, they are so fast (nothing worse than a slow painful waxer), and they are thorough! There are never any straggler hairs (the absolute worst!). And my skin heals so soft with no irritation. Like I said before- the absolute best wax you'll ever get. To top it off, all the gals are so sweet with the right amount of humor and sass. Highly recommend and Happy waxing! read more

Best in the area for waxing by far! So quick (the key to making it as painless as possible!) Worth the drive from the peninsula.

I was recommended Ted D Bare by a friend over 5 years ago and it has been my go-to place ever since. They're always super quick, friendly, and never awkward. The interior design is also soo cute There was convenient parking right in front, but looks like it's become a fire lane. There's plenty of parking in the back though read more

I cannot say enough about Ted D Bare, and just how wonderful they are! I decided that it was finally time for it, and booked my first ever brazilian with them. Now, I'm a super shy girl and was so anxious about just having all my business out in the air... literally. But I did it! And I fully understand the hype about Ted D Bare. The location itself is in a nice and quiet area. The lobby immediately made me feel so much more relaxed because it felt like I was stepping into someone's home - there was music playing, plenty of laughter/chatting echoing throughout the place, and comfy couches to sit on. If it's your first time, there's a quick intake form you fill out on an iPad, and you just chill in the waiting room until your esthetician comes to grab you. The decoration around the place was also super fun and lively, which contributed to the welcoming nature of the place. My esthetician was Mya and she is so wonderful!!!!! When I mentioned that it was my first time getting a Brazilian, she immediately hyped me up and made me feel so confident in my decision. She was so good at explaining everything, and I felt extremely safe and comfortable around her throughout the appointment. I was worried that I was going to do something embarrassing or be awkward, but Mya just made me feel like... a normal person just doing some regular self-care. She did an amazing job of hyping me up to build confidence, but also keeping things chill enough to where I could relax and not overthink too much. I really respect her level of skill and understanding, especially in such a vulnerable kind of situation. The brazilian itself was not as painful as I expected, but I really chalk that up to Mya's skill and ability to make you feel comfortable. She distracts you when you need to be distracted, and lets you take deep breaths when you need to. That being said, don't expect a pain-free experience. Do expect a lot of laughing through the pain, because Mya kept making me laugh and smile while we chit-chatted. It really felt like talking to a friend and I loved getting to know her too - She's such a lovely and kind soul :) The entire appointment was super quick - I was in and out of the building within 30 minutes. I also ended up getting the Agent 88 Spray from the vending machine in the lobby. That spray really does do wonders - I've been using it on my post-wax arms and legs too, and this is the first time that I have not had dozens of ingrown hairs. I also have pretty sensitive skin, and have not had any negative reaction to the waxing itself or the Agent88 spray. Overall, I am so happy I decided to move forward with booking with Ted D Bare and with Mya! I feel so confident in myself, physically and emotionally. The pricing is super reasonable, and the no-tip policy does help curb that end-of-appointment awkwardness when choosing a % to tip. I also just felt more comfortable knowing that the business values their employees enough and ensures they don't have to depend on tips, which I think speaks volumes about the supportive environment at Ted D Bare. I am definitely going to become a regular here, and I encourage all my other shy (or not-so-shy) girlies to go to Ted D Bare if you want a safe, comfortable, and empowering experience :) read more

This is my go-to waxing place!! They are cash only with a credit card deposit when u first book of $25 currently. Inflation has affected most businesses so prices have gone up since i've first discovered it 2 yrs ago but i think still competitively priced with other waxing places. I used to only like hard wax but this place does a great job with soft wax. Their technique keeps it as painless as possible the trick is to RELAX. Some technicians do a better job than others, recently i've had some hairs left on tummy and Brazilian area which has been rare but maybe new trainees? So u kind of need to check and they will prob fix it, need to let them know right after or else hard to get refund. They do their best to make their customers happy. Overall happy with this business and would recommend. read more

Been a customer for over 4 years! Love my ladies, always do a great job.. no bs they get straight to it. The place is always clean and although I do have my favorite waxer .. all the ladies are fabulous at what they do. If your looking for a new wax spot this is your place. Making appointments is simple and they have lots of time slots available. I've never had a negative experience. They always make me feel comfortable and that's what I like about them the most. read more

Ted D Bare Wax & Pai are the absolute greatest! I've been coming for nearly 2 years and I could not ask for a better experience. Easy to book online, payment processing is simple, parking is never a problem, facilities are SO clean & organized, and the absolute best & efficient results! The focus on efficiency from end to end makes for the easiest waxing experience-- it's still painful, but it's a lot less complicated and goes so fast! read more

Place has a great vibe. Service (Kira) was great. Placed extremely clean. I highly recommend.

Amazing! I went into this as a Brazilian Virgin. I was so apprehensive. I did my research and found Ted D Bare. They delivered. Mya made me feel so comfortable and safe. She did an amazing job explaining everything that was happening and couched me through the process. I can't believe I waited this long. I will definitely back. read more

I have had a million waxes however whatever technique these ladies use it minimizes on the pain, if you know what I mean .

Rika is awesome! She keeps the conversation fun so you (almost) forget about the pain.

I love this woman-owned business - professional and talented waxers and their shop is a vibe! Thank you Zai for doing your thing

Been going here for 10+ years. You literally cannot find a better waxing studio. Really down to earth waxers that are funny and keep you distracted while they extract pain . Btw while a wax is always painful, it's as painless as possible when going here. I REFUSE to go anywhere else now because no one compares. Also, they take no tips which is so nice and refreshing and avoids the awkward calculations you have to make in your head (or on your phone) while ending the appointment. It is all upfront pricing, no surprises. And no hard upsells. read more

If anybody can distract me during the brutal ripping of my pubic hair from my body, it is Rika! I can barely feel the yanking of my hair out of my skin, honestly. Before I know it she slaps my bottom to let me know to jump off the table. There is nothing like the smooth skin without ingrown hair or razor bumps from shaving. read more

Always very friendly staff. Makes it a little more comfortable. Very clean environment. Will be a regular spot to get cleaned up.

I have never had less than stellar care at Ted D Bare. I've seen several different waters over the years and every one is personable, professional, and efficient!! I will come back until I die. read more

I have been coming here for YEARS when it was just Jane and Pai only with their little butt slaps, the vibe is awesome something you will not get at your "other waxing" places. All girls are great, literally in and out and painless. Their prices and great I just feel guilty every-time because they will not accept tips. Some might find that a plus but I just feel bad lol Anyways I recommend this place only to people when they ask who waxes me :) read more

Had an awesome experience here today. I'm a first timer here but not to waxing. I gotta say, this didn't hurt at all. I'm used to hard wax and that stings. I was in and out in less than 20mins. The place is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. They've earned a customer for life Cash only and no tipping. read more

TL;DR: Don't go if you value customer service and you want to talk to real people rather than feel transactional. Read on for real-life drama... The Good, The Ugly, The Creepy Prelude - This opinion is not a popular one given the many 5 stars here. BUT, hold your skepticism until you hear me out. It's a long one! - I am giving them 1 star because if I hadn't experienced what happened to me (third visit), this would have been a 5 star review based on 2 visits for a Brazilian wax. - Let's set the record straight - I was late. Exactly 6 minutes late. I fully admit it. And they have proof of this (see Creepy section below). Hey, I'm Filipino. Six minutes is still on time for me. LOL. The reasons for my tardiness - i had to detour to get cash at the bank + gastro issues. More on that later. - I'm pretty loyal when it comes to supporting my glam team. My last aesthetician had been with me for 15 years before relocation made it impossible to see each other. Sigh. The Good - The aestheticians know what they are doing (well the 3 that I experienced) - They can get you in and out within 15 minutes. When you're waxing your hooha, you definitely want it quick! The Bad/Ugly - But, it can quickly go to hell in a hand-basket (google it) when you have a last minute change in schedule. You see, there is no way to contact a REAL person to let them know you will be late or to reschedule. The system only allows for you to text a general number and hope you get someone to respond. - Upon arrival, I had to go to the loo - Bad stomach which was about 5 minutes. I fully expected R (rhymes with pica) to knock on the door. But no. So I waited in the holding room for about 45 minutes before any acknowledgement from someone. Again, no real person to let you know you're appt was canceled. - Finally, when R showed up to let me know that i've been canceled, she was willing to see me at 1.15pm. Great. I asked if I could come back since it would be another 1 hour wait. Mind you, I'm upset at this point and probably was a little short/rude with her (read: NOT aggressive - if I was, my finger would've been in her face). Here's the thing - I would have to wait for the hour in-house because their system could have replaced me if someone online took the 1.15pm spot. I was trying to get clarification on how to transfer my 11.30am spot to 1.15pm without having to pay another $25 deposit. And R couldn't do it nor articulate the hows/whys. She told me to text Amanda the virtual receptionist which I did but to no avail. Extremely frustrating process and technology! - M (rhymes with liar without the r) was actually pleasant and was able to pick up my appointment 1 hour and change from original time. My beef with her - she told P (rhymes with See Ya) that I told her I was on time (11.30am). As mentioned above, I fully acknowledge I was late. Why would I lie about that? Gave M the cash and in conversation (pleasant mind you), that this place/business wasn't for me. (i.e I LIKE being able to use digital $, I LIKE having a real person take on appointments, I LIKE being treated human rather than feel like a criminal for being 6 minutes late). Well, I think she took offense because I got a NASTY email from P a few hours later telling me that I'm blacklisted. HAHAHA. I already told them I'm not coming back. But if I was reconsidering my decision, her email confirmed my decision. She accused me of being aggressive and a liar! Again, methinks this is just sour grapes and definitely hypocritical with her aggressive email. - Other note: this is a cash establishment. In a digital age (HELLO it's the 2020s not the 1920s!) where there are so many options (i.e. venmo, zelle, whatever), they still require cash. Thus one of my reasons for being late and a reason for me deciding not to return. The Creepy - The email that P sent - she basically outright called me a liar, a paying customer. That is bad enough but, - She used screenshots of the security camera footage to prove her point!!! Which in itself is creepy. -- BTW, did you know there were security cameras around? I don't remember seeing any signs. There's a camera on the front door as you enter and there's one on the hallway with a view to the bathroom door - I know, It's in the email. - Oh, and calling me Queen & slapping me on the bum when the Brazilian wax is done is not my thing. Summary - Don't be fooled about not requiring a tip. It's built into the price. It's called Marketing - Business model sucks - Ted D Bare does not put customer retention/customer service as a priority. However if you want to be treated as a transaction, this is your place. - Owners need an attitude adjustment. They can get super nasty and aggressive which is mind-boggling in a service industry. Read the other 1 star reviews. They resort to pettiness rather than wanting to defuse the situation - This is an industry that has a lot of competition. Buhbye Ted D bare! read more
