As many Audi owners know, oil leaks are almost a rite of passage--and my car was no exception. I kept quarts of oil in the trunk because the oil light seemed to live on. About a month ago, the car went into limp mode and barely made it home. I took it to a recommended shop, and while I appreciated the effort and honesty, I was told the car might not be worth a major investment. At 79, with no car note and no desire for one, I chose a different path. I had the car transferred to The Bug Shop, where David, the owner, confirmed the hard news--the engine was gone. Not what I wanted to hear, but what I needed to hear. I followed his recommendation for sourcing a reputable engine, purchased it, and had it shipped directly to the shop. Yesterday, I drove a car that feels tighter and runs better than it ever has. It drove so beautifully I felt like I could head straight across the country to the West Coast! They stated multiple times over the years that their "classic car guy" was an expert and could handle a classic car. For the first 5 years of living in atlanta, I took my classic mercedes here until they finally told me their classic car guy was leaving and they wouldn't touch my car going forward. Frankly, they did 5 years of changing my oil and nothing else but they'd charge me for what they called "regular maintenance". Regular maintenance on a classic car should include a lot more than just topping up the oil and calling it a day, but every time I'd mention knocking noises or brake issues or anything else to them, they wouldn't address it at all so I had no idea if they thought it was an issue or didn't. Finally 5 years later, thank god their classic car guy left, because I took it over to a place in Decatur and all of the things I had been worried about, they found a reason, they gave me a full breakdown online of what they recommended and why, they answered all of my questions, and I could pay the invoice online and feel good about it. Update: As of 9:30 p.m., Jacob, the owner, repeatedly called and texted me after my review. He first falsely claimed I'd only visited once four years ago, then offered to pay me, which I refused. After that, he pulled up what he claimed were years of invoices that were not real, despite the fact that I have the original receipts for my own transactions. Even after I repeatedly told him to stop contacting me, he continued until I had to block his number. Based on both my experience and his behavior afterward, I would never recommend this business.

They are always very nice and professional, and we trust their work--which is so important when it comes to the folks that are fixing your vehicles. Their GM Chris goes above and beyond, and has gone out of his way to find and pick up parts for us, or give someone a lift after dropping their car in the shop. They're honest about the work that needs to be done, and there have never been any surprises. They just expanded into the unit next to them and are finishing up some renovations for the office and reception area--just a testament that these guys are both doing good business and reinvesting that money back in the business.

The repair for the "check engine light" would clear for approximately 2 weeks and reappear each time. THEY NEVER CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. The owner would give one repair cost over the phone to my husband and charge me a different repair price on the premises...He claimed that the computer was at fault! As if that wasn't enough, they lost the engine cover to my car without making an effort to correct. Refuse to return a $15 overcharge and want us to deduct it from our next charge when we bring the car back to be repaired! I was on the highway 300 miles away when my tire almost fell off my car with my two and four year old inside. They were the last people to touch the car before a road trip. I even came back and asked them to check out some noises and lack of power. Turns out, I was leaking transmission fluid. When I brought this up to them, They apologized and then went on to question who might have been have unsuccessfully trying to steal my wheel or sabotage my life. Disregarding responsibility for a thourogh job and safety. Offensive lack of ownership. I bring this up because I cringe every time I pass either shop.
