I can't believe I've waited so long to write this review. I guess I wanted to make sure everything…read morewas going to work, first. Then I forgot. My MacBook Pro stopped working on 26 October 2024. Yea, I remember the specific date! I was flying home from La Paz, Mexico. Did some work at the airport. Shut off my computer in order to board the flight. It refused to turn on the entire way home despite me trying to power it up, several times. Once I arrived home, the computer turned on. One final, last breath. Literally, seconds. That was it. First stop was the Apple Store. They took the computer apart and took pictures for me of water damage to the logic board. Where or how that happened I have absolutely no idea. But it was a fact. They asked for some ridiculous amount of money to replace the logic board but they would not be able to recover my data. It was one of those times when I'd recently thought about making a back up but then got busy, distracted, and never actually got around to it. Stupid. Yes, I know. Also, human. I called MacBadger asking for help. Even before I became a paying customer, Oliver was incredibly helpful. He gave me tips and suggestions. I was flying to Maine within a couple of days and didn't want to leave the laptop in Florida, so I brought it with me. Took it to a "Mac specialist" recovery shop in Maine who had the computer for several weeks. When they finally did call me, they told me they had been unable to recover any data, despite their best attempts. Oh no!!!! I called MacBadger. Oliver sent me a shipping label and my computer was in the mail, the next day. They too had the computer for quite a while. Their phone system did some weird thing and flagged my number as spam so I wasn't able to get through when I called. It was incredibly stressful. Finally reached the shop via email. Oliver assured me everything was okay. They were still working. To date had not been able to recover anything but had not given up. A couple weeks later, he called me back. They did it!!!! All of my business records, class handbooks and presentations; all of my tax information; pictures from my son that he sent while in Iraq. It was all, back!!!! They backed it up on an external HD for me. I was so happy, I actually did cry. Oliver even insisted on bringing it directly to the house vs making me drive to the shop for pick up. Thank you does not cover the level of gratitude I have for MacBadger. I recommend them without reservation. Fantastic!!! Life-savers.
