While I hate to break the string of good reviews, I recently opened an account at TechCU and upon opening that account was never told that for the first 30 days my checks would take more than 7 business days to clear for the entirety of 1 month leaving me with not even enough in my account for a tank of gas and 2 pending checks. So you want your customers money in your bank but you want to make your customers look bad in the process when they are getting insufficient funds messages when trying to pay bills or at the grocery store. No human element just we will give you your money when we are ready.........SHADY read more

I went in to the Fremont branch without an appointment to order checks. Deephika was the only person I saw up front and luckily there were no other customers so she called me to her desk immediately. She asked if I wrote checks often and since I don't, she offered an option of picking up 3 checks at the branch for free when I needed it. But after realizing my membership status, she said there was another option available to me - receiving 200 checks by mail in 14 business days for free. I chose the latter since it was more convenient. I appreciated the fact that Deephika asked questions to determine my needs, offered options, and made suggestions. She also answered my questions about having a trust account and the process for beneficiaries. read more

We've been with TechCU for many years now. When we first joined, we were in Palo Alto with a local branch withing walking distance. Since moving to Oakland, where there is no convenient "brick and mortar" branch, I've been shopping for local credit union. I have been repeatedly disappointed with the other credit unions I have explored. I have *never* been disappointed by TechCU. Now I know that there is a TechCU virtual branch that I can use! I recently worked with Subhadra "Sue" Sengupta on a list of items, some of them a bit complicated, and she worked with me in a way that felt even more personal than being in the branch because I was connected to her for follow-up issues by phone and email. Before learning about the virtual branch, I made several trips to the Dublin branch, which is at best a thirty minute drive for me, to do some complicated business, and the several folks I worked with there also took good care of me. But it is nice being connected to one person virtually rather than working with a series of people in the branch. Not a fan of the new website. Has some glitches and is not the best at being "friendly" (too many clicks to get things done). Khatija was extremely helpful getting our accounts straightened out. In person was much better than trying to deal with this via messaging and email. She also acknowledge there were some issues with the rollout, but said the were being fixed asap. I mentioned a couple things we were seeing and she went to the trouble of documenting our issue and forwarded the info to her management. I have since gotten follow up communication regarding the issues. While I rarely ever go to the branch in person, Khatija provided us great customer service and support. Well, I was happy with the services but we had taken out a loan and always paid extra each month. We thought we had paid it off and then got a bill for $7.00 dollars for extra interest, so we paid that and now we got a call and were sent a text for outstanding charges. I called and was told we owed 2 cents and they took that payment out of our savings account. I am disappointed that they didn't waive the 2 cents as both my husband and I have been members for over 20 years! And have several money market accounts with them. They did however waive the late charge on the 2 cents overdue! Very disappointing that 2 cents could have ruined our credit! read more

My interaction with Tech CU, in the past has always been friendly, courteous and professional. Until recently I've had to make it a habit to handle the payment of a HELOC in person. Mailing or performing electronic payments was met with challenges that were bothersome to me. Khatija Begum became aware and spent an incredible amount of time and effort trying to resolve this for me. While the issue could not be answered to my satisfaction I left with the feeling the every possible effort was made.
