A first thanks to Verizon for FINALLY bringing out the iphone!!...but unfortunately when I found out that I wouldn't be able to activate my new phone on my very old Mac...I PANICKED! I found out about this place when I took my cell phone into Verizon because my phone was no longer charging. The Verizon guy diagnosed it as a broken something or the other that was preventing the phone's ability to charge ( I don't want to get too technical in this review!) and sent me over to Techworld to get it fixed. I guess Verizon sells phones and even sells insurance for phones, they just don't fix phones once they've sold them to you. (a different review for Verizon needed clearly) In any case, I had the great fortune to get introduced to Dawud, who recognized the problem, but also realized he didn't have the part in stock. I was going out of town the next day with a phone and a dead battery and he could tell that I was a bit frazzled. He loaned me a charger and spare battery to get me through my trip(such a thoughtful and kind gesture), and told me when I returned, he would have the part. He was as good as his word. He even called me on a Sunday to tell me the part was in. I came in today, Monday, and he fixed my phone in minutes. Dawud is a smart guy. He is also very very good at what he does. Great fast service! Cracked my IPhone SE. Tried to make an appt at Apple Store...3 days out. Stopped at the Kangaroo Apple referred repair...they had to send it out for a week. I've used Techworld several times now. As a business owner I needed to find a reliable resource to solve my IT issues fast. They guys are for real and they are affordable. I bought a reconditioned laptop and docking station for a new employee. The price was just what I expected and they only refurbish the good ones. I wanted a wireless key board with it, which they don't carry, but they ordered it for me and had it shipped to them, which was more convenient for me. I called a few days later to ask if they could install Office on the new computer which they did for considerably less than I could buy it for on line. Well o well... Here is my story. Ridiculously I cracked the actual screen of my iPhone for it's very first time. I had dropped it several times before but the way this one fell was no chance that the glass didn't shatter. It was an obvious one. It wasn't only the glass that was destroyed but the physical ink inside started to spread and I was scared because I thought if that got broken into the iPhone was over. I did online searches and made an appointment for the Genius Bar at the apple store. By the time I got to the apple store it was 8:55 and my appointment was for 8:50. I assumed they had a lea way if I came a few minutes late. ... To make it quick they gave me he'll about it and told me I had to reschedule and I figured since it's by not under warranty I had to pay out of my own expense. Simply found Joey came at any time of the day and got the screen fixed for an amazing deal. Any iPhone iPod or even cell phone problem I know where to come to from now on. I brought my cell phone here to have the battery changed and now when I charge the phone it goes from 85 to 100 percent charged and than you need to unplug from charger and start again and you need to do this a few times before it is fully charged . ** DO NOT have your device repaired at Tech Loop** Under new management -Hector & Letif -Took advantage of me and damaged my iPhone X. Last week I took my iPhone X to replace the cracked screen. Came back to pick it up an hour later and the face recognition wasn't working, the phone was calling people randomly, and certain buttons weren't working. Took it back in the next day, waited another hour when I was told that the sensor wires were damaged when they opened the phone replace the glass and they were sorry. Letif assured me that the phone would be working and that he fixed it. I asked for some sort of refund because of the inconvenience and they offered me $ 5. The service cost to me $225. And they only offered me a $5 dollar refund for the inconvenience and the damage to my phone.Again I continue to have problems with my phone. So I figured at this point they had done permanent damage to my phone and we're not going To be able to fix it and if I continue to go back they were damaging even more. I decided to take my phone to Apple where they confirmed that the phone was permanently damaged sensor wires were damaged and the screws have been stripped from opening and closing the iPhone so may times. After all the repairs at Apple it cost me $750. Apple also told me that the glass screen they use to replace on my phone was the cheapest quality in the market. They said the screen typically would cost $20. Tech Loop lied to me and said that they were using the exact same glass screen that Apple uses. They claim they had some sort of contract to use the same materials. After talking to Apple they said they do not license or have any agreements for any other vendors to use their products. I was totally lied to and taken advantage because of my lack of technical experience. It's just really sad but a small business like this takes advantage of people. They give other small businesses a bad name.I contacted Hector which I believe is the owner of the store and told him the situation. I gave him the opportunity to make this right and reimburse me for the $225 I was charged and I would not leave a negative yelp review or dispute the charge with my credit card company. He basically told me I needed to come back in for them to reevaluate my phone but as you can imagine at this point I was TERRIFIED for them to open my phone back up after it was repaired by Apple. He said he would not give me a refund unless I came into the store. So I proceeded with disputing the charge with my credit card company. My credit card company reimbursed me 100% and Apple also wrote me a letter with all the damages that were made to my phone by TechLoop. If you have had damage done to your phone or computer by Tech Loop dispute the charge with your credit card company they will reimburse you and they will go after the merchant for the money. Also at this point I'm going to proceed with a small claims court case to get back the $750 that it cost to me at Apple. Hopefully you read this review before you go to TechLoop. Your best bet is to go to Apple they are honest obviously very knowledgeable of their repairs , and stand behind their product! read more

What you SHOULD be doing is charging the Groupon customer the same as the regular customer. They should be charged $145 then after the Groupon that's worth $60 the cost would be $85. This place is awful. I took in a Dell XPS 13 and was quoted a price of $150 to replace the back, which had started to come apart from the body of the computer after I dropped it. The machine worked fine. After dropping it off, I later get a quote of $175, which I agree to. When I finally get a call that it's "done" the computer has two screws drilled through the keyboard panel. The crack between the back and the main body is still there and it wasn't replaced at all. After complaining, the owner dropped the price to $150 and held my computer hostage until I agreed to it. Avoid this place at all costs. I'm sure it will go out of business before my six-month warranty is up. There is no way a company like this can survive. read more

OVERALL: - obviously not satisfied with the work being done - dissatisfied with the way the workers deflected blame right away - I now have a significantly bigger repair on my hand, and wasted 2 hours. Brought my iPhone 6 in for a screen/display repair. When picking up I immediately noticed that my wifi and Bluetooth were not working (no option to turn on/off). I had used both the wifi and Bluetooth earlier at work.. so I know this was not a prior issue. The clerk told me he would check it out, I came back an hour later and the same issues persisted. I insisted they give me a refund and return my phone to its old screen/display. I am now also noticing that my volume buttons do not work. I've had previous work done on my iPhone, about 6 months ago, but hadn't encountered any of these issues before until this placed returned my phone. When leaving the workers said "we didn't check the wifi before so we can't be liable"... yet he insisted to check the speakers and voice recording... The workers claimed they do not work near the antenna... but the way I see it, they still open up the device to work on it and should be responsible for these MAJOR issues upon return. EDIT: now my phone only works when on speaker mode. RESPONSE TO COMMENT: It's not fair that I have a significantly larger repair on my hands, for issues that did not exist before. read more

Never again! I was quoted a $65 price for an iPad Air home button repair, but it ended up costing $112 after they allegedly broke the digitizer (they wouldn't show me the broken one, so I assume this is just standard procedure to get an extra $40 out of every iPad repair customer). During the initial repair, they also accidentally pulled the battery cable loose, so it wouldn't charge anymore (this was confirmed when the more Senior staff person, Ron, was yelling at the new Junior staff person to make sure he checked his work and that all cables were appropriately fastened, but after they both yelled at me for 15 minutes about how the battery was probably bad and that I just didn't notice before like I'm some kind of idiot). Also learned that they initially used the wrong tape to fix the button in the first place, so the Senior person made him re-do it again. Of course, this was all after I complained multiple times, was hung up on several times, and had to spend 2 hours there in person to watch the work be done. At Techloop/iFixPlus, the policy must be that the customer is always wrong, unless you catch them in the act. I've never been treated so poorly by any business or person in my entire life. (UPDATE): Less than 2 weeks later, it's already broken again!!! I believe they didn't include a part to keep the button in place, and simply taped it to get me out of there. Once the tape weakened, the button fell back into the unit. These guys are the worst repair shop ever! If you're not looking to get scammed, get poor work done, have to babysit repair staff, and take hours out of your day to deal with issues in person, this is not the place for you. They are quite simply the worst!!! Also, if you're the person who picked up their iPhone 5s with a screen replacement while I was there, they messed up and gave you the inferior 5c screen instead. Ron said he'd kill the Junior staff person if you returned in a week, but that still wasn't enough for them to just fix it before giving it to you. Instead, you'll probably have to come back and babysit them while they treat you horribly like I did. Hopefully he doesn't actually kill the new hire, but who knows... read more

I don't know why I went there again, I just forgot that I already marked it 1-star. This time I asked to repair home button on iPhone 5S. They did it, but broke the screen - it shows artifacts in the corner. They said "my screen is old, that's why it came off when we opened it, and it can't be repaired", and also said it was opened for the first time ever, that's why. (Which isn't true, I know it was opened before, for battery replacement, and the screen didn't have to come off). Btw, they're bribing for reviews, I saw a poster today, that says this: "leave a review and get a free gift (ask technician for details)". I think it's possible that many reviews are biased because of this. read more

You can only use one of the above so I picked the groupon because it seemed like the best deal. Boy was I wrong. IF YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME, ENERGY, GAS, MONEY, DIGNITY, AND BE LIED TO, PLEASE GO HERE. Scheduled an appointment online for my cracked iphone 6s screen. It took about an hour and was finished. Appeared to be fixed with new screen. I got home (30 minute drive) and tried the fingerprint to unlock my phone and it didn't work. Also when I typed, the screen would buzz and not show the correct letter. On top of that, the screen was not viewable with my polorized sunglasses unless I flipped it horizontally. The replacement screen is a cheap knock-off that wasn't installed properly. I went back in at 11am a couple days later and they said it would be fixed and back to normal in 45 minutes. 2 hours later I was told my iphone didn't like their cheap knock-off screens and they would refund my money and put my original screen back on. LIE. They put on someone else's cracked and dirty screen that they had laying and didn't refund me the price they charge to fix a screen, $169. I only received $112 back. They said I had to contact Groupon for the rest of my refund. Really, you waste more than 5 hours of my time(includes driving to and from the store), don't know how to properly install an iphone 6s screen, lie to me, and didnt seem to care if I wrote a Yelp review for you when I threatened it because I told you I was not happy with the service I got. To end, I was told "I would be taken care of if I came back." I wouldnt be back. Please learn from my experience and stay clear of this fixit business. read more

No appreciation for customers! I went to bring 2 cracked iPads for repair, willing to give this new store a try. The store was empty, so empty I had to call for someone several times. When I finally got to speak to someone, I was told I had to wait 10 minutes to drop off the iPads. Waiting for what? I was the first/only person in the store. The drop off process itself shouldn't have taken more than a minute given the obvious problems to fix (unless this store plans on asking as many questions as in a job interview!). Apparently there are higher priorities for this store than take care of customers who want to give them business. Sorry, but if i have to wait 10 minutes, I might as well drive to one of the other established apple repair stores around and know I will be taken care of reliably. I have walked by this shop many times on the way to Cheeky Monkey with my kids and always contemplated if I should bring one of my MacBooks Pros here for battery replacement; instead of to Apple store. I decided to try this service and what a BIG MISTAKE. The guy in the store, the owner, seems nice but apparently not much of a business man. After my battery was replaced, pretty straight forward procedure, my daughter turned on here Skype and instead of the clear sound we were used to coming out of the speakers, a cracking sound was coming out of the left speaker. And yes, we ruled out the software as the cause. It is hardware related. Both speaker assemblies (left and right) are slightly over the battery. So when the battery is taken out, you are supposed to remove the speakers first. I checked the iFixit guide. But that was not done according to the shop tech (the owner). The SPEAKER GOT DAMAGED and now I have a good battery but defective speaker. When I presented the situation to the Techloop owner, he refused to admit any mistake and would not fix or replace the speaker free of charge. When I said I would pay for the speaker (around $60) if he did the repair for free, he also refused. I am very unhappy to say the least. I have couple of other Apple products I was going to have serviced here. But you wont see me near this store again. Please if you want to get a reliable service on any apple products, don't make the same mistake as I did and TAKE IT TO THE APPLE STORE. read more

My sister went in to get her iphone screen fixed. Popped off 2 days later. She took it back and the guy that was fixing the screen cracked the screen and wanted to charge her extra because he needed to replace it. They wouldn't give my little sister her phone back until she paid an additional charge. She had to come get me at work and I walked in there insisting to get her phone back. The guy started giving me attitude. Turns out he used super glue to "fix it" i told him I could've done that at home and he said "fine don't come here and do it yourself" His boss then came out and tried to calm us down. Nothing was resolved. Now my sisters screen is messed up again. Take your iPhones to the apple store! Avoid these people.. They use super glue really??? Super glue... PS we also took a MacBook Pro for a noise it was making. They fixed it the noise went away but recently heard it again. This place is a joke. read more

There is a reason I always go to the Apple Store... I needed to replace a cracked screen and went in here. They replaced the screen and it looked fine. But when I put on my sunglasses the next day, the screen was dark. (I'd worn my glasses with my previous screen and it was fine). I stopped by to see what was going on and they finally admitted they use a different kind of screen than the factory original. When I asked for 50% off to compensate for the fact that they didn't tell me this up front and that the screen isn't what I wanted, they offered to put my original screen back so I could bring it to the Apple Store--the cracked one--and give me my money back. Before I get into my review, I must say as a business owner myself, that Yelp is a great tool to determine whether you would like to do business with someone or a company. I love to support local businesses rather than rely on the internet, and I believe as a business owner, you must be honest and give back to your community. Unfortunately, Yelp has a tendency to draw negative comments, mostly hurting small businesses. But how else would you know if your are getting a rip off? I work across the street from Techworld, and despite the negative reviews, I gave them a chance because like I said, I try to support the local businesses. I went into the store the week of October 13th after shattering my iPhone 5s screen the day before. I was helped by a younger gentleman who looked in his early 20's. I had a small window to have the phone fixed and he said the tech would be able to have the phone ready in 1 hour. The price was $139.99. I needed my phone so I didnt question it even though my friends told me I was getting a rip off. I waited for the phone call to pick up my phone, never got one. I went across the street to ask if it was ready - it was ready the guy just didn't bother to call me. Yay. The tech who fixed my phone rang me up and gave me a small 10% discount because I work local. I still paid about $140 after tax. I made a phone call immediately after leaving and my cheek is pressing buttons like crazy and I cant get a single normal call to go through without it being on hold or mute or numbers being pressed. ONE WEEK LATER 10/21/14 - my phone is in its case, dropped it on the floor, screen is shattered once again. I needed my phone for an important conference the next morning, found Shakeel in South San Francisco who just so happens to be open until 11:30pm?!?!?! Called him up, he said he had the part in stock and could fix my phone in 5 minutes right in front of me. So I did just that. Met him at about 9:30pm, he took my phone apart for me and saw that Techworld had given me an aftermarket "Bozo" screen and reused a bunch of my old parts from the first shattered screen. After seeing my phone taken apart, I truly felt like the biggest BOZO of all time. I had Shakeel send me an image and list everything Techworld did to my phone so I could post here. This after market Bozo replacement screen is about $20-25 wholesale..... Before tax I paid $125.00........... you do the math... Shakeel does not use aftermarket parts and always has a stock. He will show you everything wrong with your screen and fix it right in front of your face. PLUS it was only $100 out the door. I had to pay a little more because of the crap job Techworld did but whatever.. Lesson learned. Pretty upset about this. I dont think ill try another business with negative reviews. I really would like my damn money back since I just paid $250+ for new screens..... read more
