    I know it isn't nice to judge a place by their restrooms, BUT…read more.. Shoppers do need to use them, right? This is the BEST place to shop and remain comfortable while doing it. The restroom could be a whole "other division" of the store! It's clean, well equipped, and you don't even have to touch the towel dispenser. I happen to like that! Now, about the store... I do find it fun to shop here since I ordinarily find what I'm looking for, and often on sale. I'm 50/50 with the staff. The manager is great, friendly, and very helpful! Never been a time when I'd say he was "off his game" as far as consumers go. However... the staff really needs to become better educated about life outside Coos Bay. I actually had a staff person tell me that "Nobody uses Apple computers". And they were serious! Apparently, what they don't stock, they don't believe anybody uses. Since nobody seemingly caters to the Mac users (and yes, there are MANY of us in the area) I would think it wise for Staples or some appropriate store to become better educated, carry needed supplies, and have a tech on staff who specializes in servicing Macs. But apparently, that will never happen since they haven't yet heard of them. :) One thing I love about this store is the layout. You can see all across the store from any given location, and pretty much see where the isle would be you need to find what you're looking for. Love the rewards system they use, and being able to recycle my printer ink! All in all, I think this is a good store to support in our community. And... be sure to shop here if you think you may need to use a restroom! Seriously! You don't have to catch a bus to get there, and you can be sure someone has cleaned the recent vomit we all find in public restrooms these days! DISGUSTING, but true.

Accidentally knocked some papers off the counter…read more Wouldn't be so bad but a few years ago I had a heart problem and a small stroke, so picking small items off the floor is a big no no. Do ya the that a close associate offered to do it for me even though he was standing right there? Shit no. Another customer was good enough to help out.

    If you need IT Support and Computer Services - you've found the best right here…read more My last computer service was 2011; I didn't have an external hard drive backup and I was still using the 2003 version of Outlook for my email. So it happened, early Saturday morning, I had a major power failure at my house and when Central Lincoln Power Co got me back on line, there was a power surge and my computer would not start up ~ I thought for sure my hard drive had crashed and all my stuff [my whole life] was lost and I was very glad to find Florence Tech Solutions (FTS). Jolene listened to my problem over the phone and in a very calming way reassured me it might not be as bad as it sounds. All I need do was to bring my beloved computer in for her to check it out. I dropped it off late Saturday afternoon and I thought for sure I would have to buy a new commuter especially considering mine was almost 10 years old. On Tuesday, I brought my computer home and all my data, my pictures, my files were all intact, I was so happy and relieved. Jolene found and removed over 2000 unwanted infected files and at her suggestion, she installed a new Malware blocker program, plus a TeamViewer program which allows her to access my computer remotely subsequent to my authorization so she can review fix any future problems from her business; I don't have to bring my computer to her. It's like having your very own personal IT Tech on call. I also asked for an external hard drive that automatically backs up my computer every day and 2010 version of Microsoft Office. Jolene has given me peace of mind that I need not to worry about any potential computer problems down the road. She has integrity, is very knowledgeable, and is a trustworthy [personable] computer specialist; all of this at a very reasonable price. Hereinafter she is my go to person when I need help, there's no need to search elsewhere. In my opinion it's very rare to find a person like Jolene in a small community like ours and for anyone needing computer services, you should not hesitate to contact her for help.

    Ok... so I'm a fairly typical Florence resident. And yes I'm over 65. My interweb was getting…read moreunreliable. Do I called Hyak and asked if there was an issue. Nope. But remotely they checked "my" system and noted I needed some "router" updates. Tyler was so helpful. Tyler corrected and updated my gadgets and stayed on the phone until all was right again.     I was very unhappy with Florence Oregon's Hyak service response (lack of) yesterday (1/6) and today…read more(1/7). They advertise 24 hour support. Is this false advertising! I understand if we have to leave a message; but their recording promised that someone would call us back and no one did. Service requested.... Yesterday at around 6 -7pm our internet suddenly went down. So, we called Hyak several times and always got voicemail. No one ever called us back. In fact, one of the times I called, I got a different voicemail which actually said no one would be available at all and we should leave a message and we'd be called back during business hours M-F 9-5. We were never called back, not even this morning after opening hours of 9 AM!!! We finally decided to drive down to their office and wait till they opened... the office was closed and it was after 9 am! So, I called Hyak's sales team (different number in another city) and let them know we were at the Florence office and wondering when they'd open. They said they were in fact on the phone with them and they'd let the office know we were waiting in the car and to let us in !!!! They finally opened at 9:30! When in, they did get us the help we needed to get our Internet going again. We're thankful but why did they have to wait so long and why did we have to drive down? Makes me wonder what people do that can't drive down. By the way, it's January 7 and their voicemail message said the office was closed for Christmas December 24th and 25th. ‍ That old Christmas message needs to be updated! Also, when I asked the tech about the poor response to service requests, he implied they did not have full support and were working on it. Although I appreciate the honesty, it's unacceptable! Hyak needs this to change pronto. One of the reasons we signed up was because of the 24 hour support service promised. So they need to get on the ball and do what's expected after all the hard work installing the system and promoting it. We deserve better and Hyak needs to do better.
