Murray Appliance and Ward Elkins were contacted by GE, but with no action, we asked for Hill Appliance Repair and received quick and effective service. However the primary concern was regarding Mary who was responsible for invoicing. During one phone call Mary was pleasant with my elderly mother and said she would email an invoice. Mary then called back a few minutes later and she sounded like a different person. She proceeded to react as if she were speaking with a criminal and my elderly mother is certainly not a criminal. Mary was in an agitated state and her language was very disrespectful, the only reason we can fathom is because my mother was not able to get to the office and pay immediately, rather she wanted to come in the next day (this was six business days after the work was performed). Mary then stated, contrary to her previous statement, that she would not provide an invoice for services rendered until after payment was made. My parents are the customers and there was no reason for Mary to have been so disrespectful; I actually had to intervene on the phone call to try to calm her down. My parents have had quite a bit of other work done in the past few months to include HVAC, termite treatment, and having vapor sheeting laid in the crawl space, and all the other services provided an invoice before expecting payment. I have lived in this area for several years and never had any service provider require payment prior to receiving an invoice, and I never imagined someone would be that hostile towards a customer. I hope that Mary finds it in her heart to apologize to my mother who is a good paying customer. If that were to occur I would be happy to change this review. (Please note, Mary and Shane came to my parents' house later the same day after my father had returned home and payment was made in full; a 3.7% fee was added due to credit card payment. I called a few days later and they said he still hadn't looked at them. I called the next day and the girl who answered the phone said he still hadn't looked at them. I asked when I should call back and she said (a bit short) "don't, we will call you when we come up with a quote." It is now a week later and the metal was built by another Murray contractor.. My neighbor needed the help. I am not trying to do or take any work from local contractors. I'd still use you guys, but a neutral rating is more appropriate. I didn't have to use these guys to fix my air conditioner, but I stopped into their office because they have a sheet metal shop and I needed some metal built.. I took it back, and the owner replaced it. Within a week, the second unit stopped working. At the time, I was without a car, 22 miles away. I spoke with the owner and she acted like it wasn't her problem. A few months have passed and I popped into the store to see if they could make it work. A gentleman looked at it for a few minutes. He put a new coil in it in case the coil I had tried was defective. It wouldn't work and he informed me that it was the tank. He wanted $35 for a replacement tank. This thing had less than ten hours of vaping on it. Then he said he wouldn't charge me for the coil he used to test it. That was nice of him. They have great juice there and the store is very nice. I wouldn't buy any equipment from them though because it might be fake or seconds or something. I can't think of any other reason why they wouldn't have offered to reach out to the manufacturer on behalf of their customer.
