    San Jose Barracuda trash bin

I've been to plenty of San Jose Sharks games at SAP Center, but this was my first time attending an AHL San Jose Barracuda game at the Tech CU Arena. Note, it's much colder in the Tech CU arena vs. SAP Center so bundle up accordingly. I'm glad I attended a game, but I don't need to come back. Parking is $15. They accept card. 1 EV charging station is available at the front. The concession offerings are meh and pale in comparison to SAP Center. I ordered their Loaded Tater Tots ($14.95) and a Draft Pacifico ($13.45). The chili that comes with the tots is extremely salty.

I was invited by the Yelp Elite. Thank you to the Yelp Elite for inviting me. I spontaneously decided to watch it alone. The smell of the ice rink brought back memories for me. I used to go ice skating when I was young. The Yelp Elite taught me about the high-five tunnel. The crowd and I cheered for the players and gave high-fives and fist bumps during the ice hockey game. I had a great time watching it. I also noticed that the ice hockey game was accessible for everyone. However, the flashing lights were annoying and I was concerned about the potential impact on peoples eyes or minds.

Surprising I liked it! Nothing beats the Shark Tank, BUT there's no bad seat in the house, they play good music, have great popcorn & minor league players are aggressive trying to impress NHL... and they don't skimp on the fights either! Another bonus- concessions, to include beers, aren't nearly as expensive... sounds like a win to me

Great Arena, great views from all angles. We sat in 107 one night and 116 both great spots. Bathrooms are well maintained/ clean & easy access. The food is ok but the fresh baked cookies are amazing (that was the benefit of sitting in 107). The game is very interactive with the announcers and frenzy going around to each section. They really involve the kids with games. We had a great time watching my son sing with his school the national anthem. Thanks Barracuda's for the fun night.

Came here for the first time to support my team at Fight Night at the Tech last weekend. This arena's dope. It's a much cleaner and sleeker version of the SAP center. The outside is a bit dull, but the inside is nice. Bright, easy to navigate, plenty of air conditioning, clean seats. The seat map online was deceivingly (but delightfully) not to scale. I sat in section 116, row 3 and the view was surprisingly great. You get an unobstructed view of the ring and the Jumbotron. Definitely would consider getting tickets here again. I believe the most prime seating would be on the side from 113-111, but you can't go wrong. It's a super small arena so all seats are relatively close. The SJSU South Campus parking garage was vacant across the street and was only $4 for the day. Paid through the ParkMobile app (Zone 9033). Getting in and out was no trouble at all. Closes at midnight. Some knocks: The food options were boring and drink options were very limited. There were no energy drinks or caffeine options at all. The staff, who I assume were employed by SAP based on the blue jackets, had no sense of urgency in regards to drink spills. There were about 3 full beers spilled along the stairs and nobody cleaned it up for hours. With such high foot-traffic to enter the floor area, you'd think they'd have some towels lying around just in case someone falls. Overall, cool venue. Would check it out again. 4/5

I went to my first San Jose Barracuda game last night and I had a really great time! It was my first time at this venue and it was very clean and the entry was very easy. They have a good assortment of drinks and food to enjoy during your game and or show. They also get extra points for having coke zero, my fave soda if I drink one. I'm not a fan of Pepsi and a lot of stadiums carry this product. I ordered a foorlong corn dog and a coke zero. The corn dog was good but I wish the hot dog portion was a bit more. I was definitely still hungry after. I found the seats were very comfortable and with someone who has bigger hips the seats very much accommodated my comfort. Each seat also has a cup holder for your convenience. I didn't get a chance to use their restrooms so I can't comment on the comfort or cleanliness of them but given the stadium is newer, I'm sure they were clean. I'm excited to come back for another hockey game, I had a great time. I recommend it especially for families or if you just want an easy going night with friends or family.

I like what they've done with the place. The arena feels spacious and very very clean. It's cool to see the team going on and off the ice before warmups inside the concourse. The food is pretty mediocre and really pricey though, I would not come here on an empty stomach, else you'll spend a pretty penny. I also like the wall of jerseys, it's pretty cool.

First visit to the Tech CU Arena and I was quite impressed with the facility. The arena is very bright and a great atmosphere for a minor league hockey game. Easy in and out parking lot, decent food choices and a unique on-the-glass bar right behind one of the goals--great place to have a beverage. The only disappointment ... the pro shop did not sell a single Barracuda souvenir puck!

Had a fun night watching the SJ Baracudas aka Tigees del Mar. The arena is very nice. Every seat is great for watching the game. This was not close to a sell out, so I gave them 3 stars because the one & only restaurant/bar was closed to a private party. Couldn't they just set aside a section aside for us regular fans?

The place is a dream for sports lovers. Giant screens for watching your favorite teams, and a plethora of facilities and activities for expending energy. An illuminated video game arcade, giant claw machines, hoops, billiards, and the most cornhole boards I've ever seen in a single setting. Multiple rinks on site... four volleyball courts fit into one, two separate soccer fields, and a roller rink where roller hockey is probably also played, from the looks of it. But this past Friday, I partook in Open Skate here. The skating session started with an annoying online waiver process (required for first-timers) and a $15 fee for an hour-and-a-half time slot. They charge an extra fee for skate rentals, but luckily I have my own rollerblades. Also got myself a green bead necklace which they were giving out for free for St. Paddy's week. There were sets of bleachers at each corner, outside the rink, where I left my shoes (underneath) while skating. It was super breezy in there, kept nice and cool during this heat wave. The floor was massive, with color-changing lights glowing in the dim space. A range of music played through the speakers including songs like David Guetta's Titanium, Save Your Tears by The Weeknd, Beauty and a Beat by Justin Bieber, Hips Don't Lie by Shakira, and Airplanes by B.o.B. My favorite part... ZERO skate aids! Mainly skilled skaters on the floor, even a lot of the kids seemingly. Having fewer inexperienced skaters compared to other roller rinks made for a far more enjoyable time. The house lights turned on at the end of the first session, signaling skaters to exit the rink, as there was a 15-minute break before the next group (two time slots available on Friday and Saturday evenings). The Penalty Box Bar and Grill had two sections and order counters. One was an actual bar restricted to the 21+ crowd. The other was the "grill" serving a wide range of menu items including burgers, tacos, sushi, rice bowls, pizza, wings, and more. There was even a separate area with a multitude of craft beers on tap. And the venue offered endless seating options on multiple levels. Whether celebrating a special occasion with family and friends or having a night out with a significant other, The Plex offers more than enough to keep visitors of all ages active and entertained.

In November 2025, we celebrated my mother's 90th birthday there, and in March 2026 we returned for her Celebration of Life. A special thank you to Alex Del Angel and Elsa for going above and beyond to make everything perfect. Elsa did a beautiful job creating a slideshow that played on the TVs in the area of The Plex where we gathered to celebrate Mom's life. It meant so much to our family and added such a personal, heartfelt touch. What makes this place especially great for family events is that there's truly something for everyone. My young granddaughters had plenty of games and activities to keep them happily busy, while my kids enjoyed playing pool, darts, and spending time in the arcade. Many members of our family also play indoor soccer there every week, so it's already a place that feels like part of our lives. The Plex is more than just a venue--it's a welcoming community space where families can come together, celebrate milestones, and make lasting memories. Thank you again to the entire team for helping us honor my mom in such a meaningful way.

My favorite was the clam chowder soup, which was creamy, rich, and very tasty. We also shared a salad which had a spring mix, light vinegarette with some asparagus. It needed some kind of goat cheese or feta cheese as well as some nuts. For the main entree, we had a steak (medium rare) with unique onions (?balsamic grilled?) with broccolini that we enjoyed whereas the fish was a little on the dry side over a bed of rissoto. Dessert was creme brulee (good) and a chocolate forest cake (did not taste that great but maybe I don't like cherries like that.) Live music with guitar and singing was occurring in the lounge. That was lovely but it was a little too loud. The atmosphere is nice-- bar area with some table seating in the lounge area. We also liked the patio terrace outside which has fire pits and outdoor games. It has a lovely view of the downtown. (And remember that it does not get dark in San Jose in summers until around 9pm). The club also has a formal dining room, business conference/meeting rooms, ballrooms, etc. for any occasion. Parking is underground in the building and will be validated. Looking forward to our next visit.

And after all this time, so little has been done to improve the space, so I have to slam you for your mismanagement of a great venue. Yes, you are creating space for so many niche hobbies. You're creating community for a crowd I resonate with. But goddamn, you're really shooting yourselves in the foot still. Problems that need to be addressed: 1. If you're booked for a private event, you NEED to declare it to the public. Don't make me walk up intending a night with friends, only to be turned away because you found a better way to make money. Like how hard is it to have an instagram, or a website with an events page (you DO, omfg, USE it) and warn folks. I would say only about half of the private bookings are declared currently; which is absolutely pathetic. Imagine how many people you're pissing off aside from me. How do you expect to cultivate customer loyalty this way? 2. Your restroom facilities..... it's like what you find in a derelict stadium from the 60s. My god. It's gross in there. A huge update is needed. But I guess you're holding out hope that facility can be booked by Hollywood for it's next horror-slasher scene. 3. Your bar program. Are you serious? The same cocktails and same EXACT beers on rotation since you first opened years ago. You're in the heart of the beer capital--SJ use to have 20+ breweries until COVID and Gen-X+Alpha killed it. With all these amazing local producers, you do nothing to support them and source beers that people would love to try. The lack of a bar program is abysmal. Forget missing out on pleasing your patrons with amazing choices. Think about how much money you could be making. I look at your space, the amount of traffic you're getting; and all I see is how you utterly dropped the ball. Talk to any restaurateur/entrepreneur, and they'll tell you how massively you're dumping potential profits. Amongst the various communities that frequent your joint, we all openly hate your bar, and wish it could be expanded: both in size to reduce lines during peak hours and more offerings 4. Acoustics. You've done very little to dampen echo in a building with nothing but hard surfaces. There's never truly a sense of comfort since our ears are constantly assaulted. While there are many other issues, these are the most critical that need to be corrected. The amount of people that I've brought here and met randomly always share the same conclusion: this place is cool, but it could be so much better. As courtesy and creating space for communities that need it, I'll remove this review if you at least address half the issues. We all like you. But just do BETTER. You don't even have to do it for us. Trust me, you'll make more money.

Over the years I've seen multiple Sharks games-many concerts here,I've been to March Madness multiple times at this arena but my favorite events at this arena is probably the multiple times I watched UFC live at SAP Center, followed closely by the now defunct StrikeForce MMA fights that used to have shows at this great venue. Of course being that I live in the Sacramento area now as opposed when I lived in the East Bay,the trips take a bit more planning and usually involve an overnight stay at one of the many great hotels in the area but that doesn't actually make the events at this event any less fun,in fact it enhances them. One of the true beauties of this arena is the way the city has built up the area around the arena-just a short walk away there are a plethora of incredible restaurants and bars that are great to enjoy either before or after events depending on the day of the week-I will admit I may have had to carry the wifey out of the Old Wagon Saloon after indulging a bit too much after a great event at the Sap Center-my point being-so many great options in the area for entertainment both post and pre events at this arena. As with every arena, traffic and parking are quite the challenge here-there is onsite parking but it is extremely pricey-I always find using light rail to get in and out of events at this arena is still the best value in the game. Inside the arena,it's been very well maintained and is very modern for an arena that is almost 33 years old-bathrooms are super convenient and generally always clean. The staff have always been extremely helpful and were definitely helpful when I first learned about hockey etiquette-I will always appreciate them for that. Food at this stadium is plentiful-though there is still stadium pricing so that's to be expected-Beer pricing is nothing unique-very standard but they do have some cool options,my last trip I picked up a hockey stick that I could drink my beer out of-I love that thing. In closing-If you ever find yourself with an event that is going to take place at this arena-I would not hesitate to go to this arena and enjoy yourself-it's a world class venue and I'm sure you will have a great time.....even if the Sharks lose
