Colin responded quickly when our HVAC system wasn't working right. He came, looked it over and said he could repair it. Which he did. It didn't last long as our unit was old. I called, he came right over. He looked everything over and said the outside condenser need to be replaced. He gave me an estimate of $18,000 and subtracted the amount we paid him for the repair. I got a second estimate for $25,000. We went with Tech Air. They did a fabulous job. Highly recommend. read more

Tech Air was excellent - professional, pilot and prompt. They had the best price and did a great job cleaning up.

Colin and his technicians at Tech Air are great. They are super responsive and their customer service is excellent. We had a botched HVAC system, done by the previous owner of our house, and Colin and his techs came out quickly and fixed everything right away. We have a much better, working, unit. He really is an expert on heating and cooling systems. Would highly recommend. read more

Outstanding Experience with Tech Air! From start to finish, working with Tech Air was an absolute pleasure. Colin, the owner, was incredibly communicative and took the time to truly listen to all my requests. He designed an HVAC system to my exact specifications -- no shortcuts, no upselling, just thoughtful recommendations and expert execution. Their pricing was very competitive, especially given the level of detail and craftsmanship. The team removed my old gas furnace and installed a new 5-ton heat pump and air handler, even adding a new cold air return downstairs to improve overall performance. They also removed the old duct insulation, sealed, taped, and rewrapped the entire system with new insulation, ensuring everything was airtight and efficient. Colin and his crew are the definition of a small business that takes tremendous pride in their work. They showed up on time every day, worked efficiently, kept the workspace clean, and completed the job right on schedule. Their professionalism and attention to detail really stood out. A special shoutout to Claudia, who handled all the paperwork, scheduled the inspection, and made sure everything was squared away for warranty and compliance -- she made the entire process seamless. I couldn't be happier with the results. If you're looking for a trustworthy, high-quality HVAC company that genuinely cares about its customers, Tech Air is the one to call. read more

Colin was so prompt and came out accessed the need and gave us options. We ended up going with the full replacement of the furnace as that was the right move. Thank you all for your help and ensuring my home has working heat! read more

I can tell you for sure that Colin is NOT going to misrepresent, upsell, or BS you into getting stuff you don't need. He came to my house twice, the first time we did not have access to under the house, so he recommended a handyman to create that! After looking at my ducts, recommended I just get them rewrapped in insulation. Charged me for the visit the second time. Colin is a clear communicator, usually able to stop by in short order, direct, polite and honest. Honest service people seem to be rare, and that's why I recommend Tech Air!! read more

Colin and his team were a pleasure to work with. From the initial review to the final installation, we were very happy with the care and quality they put into replacing our old gas furnace with a Mitsubishi heat pump. When the city inspector came by he even commented that the work looked "top notch". Colin's pricing was competitive, straightforward, and transparent. We'd definitely recommend him for any similar project. read more

Our heating went out during one of the coldest days and when we called he answered straight away and came around the next day to take a look. Originally we thought it was going to be an expensive job to replace the whole heating system but he came up with a cheaper solution and saved the day. Very trustworthy and efficient service and we are very happy we found him. read more

Furnace started making loud noise in Feb, 2025. Colin was able to come by the same morning I called. He ordered a new motor which was received & installed the next day. The price was very fair plus he quickly installed it & was super nice & efficient. Two days ago, I called him early morning to report a furnace problem, he arrived a few hours later, quickly determined that the previous part had failed, and was able to get a replacement and install it the next day on New Year's Eve. Plus, he insisted there would be no charge! It was great to have him respond so quickly, especially because it was very cold. I can't recommend him highly enough. Tech Air is great! read more

Colin is super helpful and very honest / reasonable. He came by to diagnose a furnace issue and guided me in the right direction. I really appreciated his help and will use him again for any HVAC needs in our home. read more

Colin at Tech Air is top notch. He installed a complex, high-end Mitsubishi mini split system with seven heads in our 110+ year old four-story Edwardian in San Francisco, with all the challenges of lath and plaster walls, and did an impeccable job. Fair price, excellent communication, and real thoughtfulness in every detail. Colin is a total pro--highly recommend. read more

Tech Air and more specifically Colin and his team are truly incredible. We needed help fast and Colin and his team serviced our home with impressive speed, accuracy and integrity. In a world where service so often falls by the wayside the attention before, during, and after installation were remarkable. Highly recommend. read more

Colin at Tech Air came out to repair our A/C which stopped working in the middle of a heat wave. He had installed this A/C about 5 years ago, so he was able to quickly diagnose and repair the problem, and it was all covered under the warranty. Great job. I would use Tech Air for both new installations and for repairs. read more

Tech Air installed a mini split system in my house. This house is on a steep hill with lost of challenges for this installation. Colin's team did a great job. The whole process was super pleasant and professional. The price was very competitive. The work quality was superb. I highly recommend Tech Air and I am not at all surprised to see the other great reviews for this business. read more

I had an older home in San Rafael with a large, inefficient gas fired furnace and wanted to move to something more efficient and get air conditioning for warm summer days. I had a pretty good idea what I wanted: a mini-split system which would allow room level control of heating/cooling for efficiency and would take advantage of energy from our solar/battery system. Colin clearly understood what I was trying to accomplish from the start. He figured out how to achieve my goals using Mitsubishi's Mini-split product, using a mix of different types of units to meet both performance and aesthetic goals. We probably iterated five or six times on the overall plan until we got something that was the right product at a fantastic price (mini-splits aren't cheap, but they provided excellent value). The installation went quite smoothly. They removed our old furnace cleanly, were able to re-use duct work in some places, and installed new where it wasn't practical. Their work was neat and tidy, and they placed equipment and linesets out of view. He also was able to integrate with Ecobee smart thermostats to further enhance energy efficiency. It was a big project and a large investment but it seriously enhanced our comfort in our home, reduced our energy bills, and improved the aesthetics and noise when the system is running. And, Colin's delivered cost was thousands less than the next best offer -- and I had high confidence they'd deliver on their promises (which not every vendor seemed able to do) -- which they did. I strongly recommend Tech Air and Colin for HVAC. read more

Very professional and high quality work done by Colin and his team, all at a very competitive price. We're very happy with the new furnace and the whole process with Tech Air. read more

Colin, Reggie, and their crew were incredibly professional, clean, and communicative. When designing the system, I came up with all sorts of questions and requests. Highly recommend Colin and crew for your HVAC service needs. Always quick service, honest diagnosis and reasonable pricing. We have used them twice now for furnace replacements and been very happy both times. First time was a few years ago to replace a conked out 25 year old furnace, and just recently had them back out to look at our other old furnace that wasn't generating heat. Colin gave us clear options for replacing parts or replacing the full furnace with no pressure to go in either direction. The whole process from diagnosis to furnace replacement was quick and easy. Very happy customers, would use them again for any future HVAC needs! read more

100% would recommend Colin! He has been a lifesaver twice for us. Another company came out before he did, barely looked at my unit and then send me an estimate that recommended replacing my entire AC unit. Colin came in for a second review ... ran a VERY thorough diagnosis, and was able to isolate what part exactly was needing replacement. As you can imagine - it was NOTHING compared to replacing the entire unit. Colin is very respectful, professional, and most of all - trustworthy. Can't recommend his services enough. read more

Colin came out to our home and spent an hour diagnosing our AC and honestly thought everything looked ok. The AC hadn't felt cool during a real hot day, so I did suspect a problem, but when he came out it felt normal. He didn't try to upsell a new ac install or make up some falsely needed repair. He didn't even charge us! Colin is an honest straight shooter and I highly recommend his services! read more

I worked with Tech Air a month ago, when they fixed the connection to a hose on my furnace condensation pump. The fitting came loose yesterday, spilling water around the pump. I called Colin, and he came out on Sunday and re-tightened it. He didn't charge me this time because the error was theirs. I was impressed with the service and the honesty, and I plan to use them again in the future for plumbing and related issues. Highly recommended! read more

I would HIGHLY recommend Colin and Tech Air for all of your HVAC needs. I've worked with many contractors in my day and I have not experienced a contractor as good as Tech Ari - this company is top notch. They are very fair, professional, honest, and do a great job installing HVAC systems. I replaced my gas furnace with a heat pump and moved the duct work from the crawl space to the attic. Colin and team turn-keyed the whole project. I would strongly encourage you to call Colin. read more

Colin and team were very professional and efficient. I received several bids and the only one that was less was one of those guys who does side jobs that may or may not be reliable down the road. As we all know, the last thing a homeowner needs is to be left holding the bag on a major part of your home, so it is great to have the assurance that Colin and his team will be there if things go wrong. From the workmanship however, it does not appear that we will be seeing him any time soon! He also use Trane-- top of the line (others wanted to use York). Furthermore, my family/young kids/pregnant wife was very sensitive to asbestos and we insisted that we get a 3rd party to help solve this for us even though Colin offered and was capable. Colin was able to get a company he works with and abate all of our ducting using negative pressure etc. at a very reasonable price-- he really does help you solve the entire job from A-Z. Thanks again Colin! read more

I needed a replacement gas wall heater and had a hard time getting a hold of the HVAC company my neighbor recommended for an estimate. By the time I got the estimate, I was told that it would be 1 month before they could complete the installation. I saw the excellent reviews for TechAir and decided to give Colin a call. He responded immediately, gave me a reasonable estimate over the phone, and said that he had an appointment available in a couple of days. He and his team were punctual, wore masks, set up blankets to keep my home tidy, and completed the installation quickly with excellent communication. I will be recommending TechAir to my neighbors! read more

Our heater stopped working, and I immediately started calling repair services off Yelp. Most used an answering service and had to have someone call me back, I don't have that kind of patience. Once I hit Tech Air, the difference was immediately noticeable. Colin was reachable and attentive and made it his priority to get out and fix our problem ASAP. We ended up wanting to replace our 15 year old heater instead of repair it, and Colin and his team were quick, clean, respectful, and affordable. This is a five-star company with a great personal touch. read more

We recently used Tech Air for a heat pump installation and were very happy! Colin and his team did an amazing job, were clean and professional, and their quote came in under several others. Colin was easy to work with. The crew came back twice to tweak our system, replace a buzzing transformer, and install a condensate drain tube at no extra cost. They also saw through the Clean Tech CA rebate for our system, and brought us the check. I DEFINITELY recommend using Tech Air! read more

We replaced our central heating unit with Tech Air a little less than three years ago. Their price was very reasonable. Communication with Colin was clear, straightforward, and direct. He was on time and pleasure to work with. Another important aspect of getting an important piece of HVAC equipment installed, that I didn't earlier appreciate, is who is doing the installing. Often it's the least experienced people who do the hard work of the installation resulting in potential problems of the functioning of that equipment because of how it's installed. Colin did all the installation himself, or with a helper assisting him. That experience makes a difference in addressing those unforeseen problems that often develop in an installation, and it makes a difference in terms of my confidence with the results of the installation. Our old thermostat wasn't compatible with the new unit. Colin generously simply gave me a new one that functions well with the new unit. I decided to wait a couple of years to see how the unit was functioning and what the service might be like, if needed, before leaving this review. As it turned out, there was a problem with one of the parts in the original central heating unit that recently developed. Colin responded quickly to the call, and he was able to procure a necessary part that was not easy to find. Again the same quality of service, communication, and punctuality was reliably present in the work he did. He made sure that everything was covered on the warranty, including his time and effort. The unit is functioning really well again without a dime out of our pockets. Again, it was a pleasure to work with him. IF I COULD GIVE HIM MORE THAN FIVE STARS IN THIS RATING, I WOULDN'T HESITATE. read more
