Both were AMAZING! The burger has a smashed patty that adds a crunch with whole grilled onions and this sauce that pulls it all together. The candied pork belly was crispy yet melts in your mouth. There's cilantro as a garnish and adds the right amount of flavor to complement the sweet/savory of the pork. Everything from the bao bun to the sauce is all freshly made! This place is such a gem, they have delicious bao sandwiches and rice bowls. The plum drink is so good, I definitely recommend it if you like sour drinks and those salted plum saladitos candies. My go-to protein is the braised pork belly; you can never go wrong with that. My only suggestion would be that it would be great if they could add a tea egg to the pork belly bowls or have the option to pay extra for the egg--I would definitely get it! I ordered the peach green tea and a candied pork belly bao. To start the tea was very refreshing and has the perfect hint of sweetness. As I took my first sip I realized there is fresh peaches at the bottom. Yum! On to candied pork belly bao, this was my first experience eating bao and it will definitely not be my last. The pork was cooked to perfection, the texture and flavor was on point, the sauce really elevated the whole experience. The bao bun was so soft and fluffy, overall a 10/10. This new boba spot is great! The staff was super nice and gave us recommendations as to what we should drink. The matcha is some of the best I've had at a boba shop in a while & the strawberry milk tea has real strawberries so it's a bit more tart than other milk teas. It was so refreshing! I will definitely be back soon to try their pork buns and brunch foods! The restaurant is so cute and chic! I'm a personal fan of their barstools. The chairs are vibrant colors and have a rustic look to them. What an amazing little gem! Don't let the outside of the strip mall fool you; the interior is fun, warm, and inviting. I'd love to spend an afternoon with my laptop here. My wife and I got the Burger Bao, Sweet Garlic Sausage Bao, popcorn chicken, strawberry milk tea, and peach green tea. It was all really good, and I was surprised by how good the Burger Bao was! It's more of a smash burger style, so it's juicy and crispy with a sweet pineapple teriyaki sauce, and it all melts nicely into the bao. Which was SO fluffy and lovely. On top of that, the cashier (and I suspect owner) was SUPER friendly and even apologized for how long our bao was taking (which, it wasn't taking long at all). This is a great little place that I will be visiting more often. read more

A hidden gem in Upland! Was craving some milk tea and and snacks and thanks to Yelp found this place. The place is super cozy with tables and chairs to hang out - I wish I could have stayed but got my stuff to go. Tried the Braised pork bao, the pork belly was tender and very flavorful. The preserved mustard greens gave it a bit of flavorful depth as well. It had a little bit of a kick but it wasn't too spicy for me. The bao was itself was light yet chewy - hard to find places where they make their own baos! Also tried the fried chicken bao and popcorn chicken. Loved the sauces in the fried chicken bao. The popcorn chicken was also very flavorful! They are a bit similar in taste... so might want to order one or the other and get something else unless you're really hungry for fried chicken! :) Tried the brown sugar milk tea and I appreciate that I was able to customize sweetness and make it less sweet. All the food is made fresh to order - I imagine if it's busy to be patient because waiting for fresh food takes time. Since I was the only one there at the time, I had the chance to meet and chat with the owner and her son while waiting for my food. They were super friendly and grateful for my patronage. Even when another customer came in, they did their best to make me feel like I was the only super customer there. I love finding places where there is so much passion in their product that you can feel it radiating through their food; a work of love. I had a weekly special: kimchi steak bao. I also requested a orange guava black tea. All of the food was so well-balanced. The matcha mango milk was really good. You could taste both matcha and mango, nothing overpowered the other. My orange guava black tea was also very good. Beef is not my favorite protein but it was so good. The kimchi brought such brightness to the meat. And the bun...so fluffy! It was a delicious cloud. The fried chicken bao was also good.
