Absolutely love this place - so bummed I heard they will be moving to RiNo soon. I've been to one other pole dance based studio in Denver and while that place was okay, i was very intimidated not only by the clientele by the people running the place. I'm not a dancer, and I'm not super athletic but also not unhealthy athletically. I love dancing but I'm not very strong in the arms so I was hoping pole dancing would be a way for me to be active and work on my upper body strength plus have fun. Intro Pole dancing classes are supposed to inclusive and supportive of everyone but this other place seemed more intent on training dancers then on helping newbies learn to like their bodies while building strength enough for pole. Tease is definitely not like that. They have several different classes that are not pole based but still build strength. Having figured out that I didn't want to do pole right away I tried their hip-hop dance class and their twerkshop both of which were challenging, fun, and had me dancing, laughing and sweating the whole time. It was also nice since I go to dance classes alone and I didn't feel like I was the odd girl out in the middle of a bunch of friends. While a lot of people did know each other, they were friendly to me and other solo attendees and there wasn't that weird high school vibe you get in other places. Of course, since I didn't take pole classes here I don't know if Tease's pole classes have that weird vibe similar to the other studio. I suspect that is the case since most places force everyone to stay in the beginner level until an individual teacher bumps them up which I think makes intro classes kind of a competitive, mean girls breeding ground I think. In either case if I ever am curious about pole dancing again I'll definitely try it here. read more

I started coming to Tease with my friend in July when I signed up for a weight loss challenge at work. About a month and a half as gone by and I've lost about 12 pounds! The studio is always clean, and the instructors are sweet and encouraging. I haven't taken any of the pole dancing classes (which my friend adores) but have taken a few of the other dance-fitness classes (ballet and plyometrics), and they're not your mother's Jazzercise. The music is awesome: I remember when I was younger I took a dance class taught by a Denver Broncos cheerleader and our first routine was to a Phil Collins song. Phil Collins has probably never helped anyone lose weight. Ballet to "Smooth Criminal" with Pi, on the other hand.... The price can be daunting, especially if you already have a gym membership... but it's worth it to sign up because the discounts come deep and often in my e-mail. (I think of it in terms as one class equaling two Chipotle burritos... where are my priorities?) If you're looking for exercise that feels more like a night out with your girls than a grueling trip to the gym, sign up for a drop-in class: But be warned that it won't be your last. read more

Fun, flirty, sexy, empowering. I started pole-dancing in California and I was excited to continue my poleducation here in Denver. The facility is far more than I could ever expect and the owner/instructors are incredibly helpful, friendly, and supportive. The great thing about Tease is that it doesn't only offer pole dancing classes, they also offer other fun classes such as "look good naked" and "snowbunny workout." They have two doors, their main door leads to the front office/lobby area containing their dance studio and to the left of the main door (while facing it) is the door leading up to their pole studio. Both spaces are open, clean, and posh--definitely inspiring you to let out your inner goddess. Being from Golden, I only attend classes on the weekends with [Re]Becca, which fill up VERY quickly. If you're planning on going to the lower level classes (Pole 1 & 2), do sign up in advance so that you can reserve a spot in the class. Becca is a great instructor, very high energy and encouraging. I have to admit.. I was a little intimidated about Tease. I had my preconceived notion of what Tease and pole fitness meant and because of that, I was a little bit hesitant. Well, holy smokes! Now that I've been there and done that, I can honestly say how much I love love love Tease and the instructors and brains behind Tease! Besides the pole fitness classes that take place, there are lots of other great fitness classes to take like ballet bootie barre, flexibility and conditioning, buti, and so many more. Whether you want to learn burlesque, try your hand (or thighs) at pole, there is a class for EVERYBODY! The instructors are extremely encouraging. At first I felt like a fireman sliding in a hurry down the pole, now I can actually Ballerina spin my way down gracefully. I love this studio! The new location is simply awesome - I'm here almost every day! Becca, Jenna, Estee, Jessica, RoxyStar, and Ms Easy fill my week with sexy, sweaty, booty-bumping fun! These women are so positive and inspiring - even when I don't feel like working out, I just drag myself in knowing that their energy will rub off on me and I always leave glowing :) p.s. I'm taking sultry yoga with Sarah for the first time this week, which I'm sure will be super sexy fun as well. Best parts: *I love that I'm constantly challenged by the aerobics/strengthening classes (I used to do an Insanity-style workout everyday, but it was too hard on my knees and I had to give it up, so I'm stoked to replace it with something equally challenging and a little less harsh on my bod). *I'm always learning fun and awesome pole tricks and transitions from knowledgable instructors (pole flow is FUN. Hell, Pole 1 is still fun!) *There's even a class specifically targeted toward developing flexibility where I'm constantly learning the awesome stretches/strengthening exercises (b/c strength leads to flexibility) that I've always wanted to know. The ONLY pointer I have is that when you first start out here it might take a second to figure out which instructors resonate with you most, so if you have a not-as-great experience with someone don't write off Tease! Such an empowering venue for women to come together and get an amazing workout, feel beautiful, and have an absolute blast. I have never really enjoyed working out, but ever since I started coming to Tease I have rediscovered my love for dance while getting fit and boosting my self confidence. There is such a variety of classes, from pole fitness to dance to yoga to hardcore bootcamps. I never get tired of my workout routine because there is always something new to try. The instructors are AMAZING. Each of them has their own style of teaching which will reach anyone and everyone that comes in. They are so supportive and encouraging and make everyone in the class feel beautiful and strong, but also challenge us to continue to reach for the next level or next goal. Why is there no less than one star to give? No difference with any other blood sucking business out there, all they want is your money. I purchased a deal, 9 classes for 100 dollars back in January. Wanted to get the sexy on before my wedding on the April. And only attended one before my husband to be developed luckemia, I sold all my properties and moved to Houston with him to take good care of him. He recently passed away so I moved back to Denver to my family. With broken heart, I emailed the owner Jen, an entire month she didn't reply. I called and was instructed to email the manager Jill, two weeks later he replied. No way she is helping and get me even a little bit of refund. Nor she would offer the deal so I can at least get some work out what I have left there. Emailed the owner again, this time she replied! Fully support the manager's decision. I just wanna say, good luck to those heart less business person there. Ur business won't last long if u have no heart and soul. read more

Great instructors, awesome community, fun classes!

First, let me start by saying I am an uncoordinated, somewhat self conscious person, and definitely not an exhibitionist... So, this place would be a bit out of character for me. However, I got a really good deal on a Groupon here, so I decided to check it out. Yes, their specialty is pole fitness classes... but they also have barre fitness and general aerobics classes. I attended two classes as of yet, including Ballerina Conditioning and Look Good Naked. The Ballerina Conditioning class was a bit of a disappointment. To be fair, I think it's a new class so I think they will be able to work the kinks out. But simply put, the transitions were too long, the class was too easy and was a bit too far from the Lotte Berk method for me to like. However, the Look Good Naked Class (which I had to book over the phone, and as a bit of a prude, was an enlightening experience) was great. Really challenging at times, fun and I think pretty effective. I have 4 more classes, so I think I will need to update this review. The staff is very nice, the studio space is cute, prices are reasonable and it is nice to support non-chain businesses. read more

Having attended pole and other dance fitness classes at several different studios in Denver, I can say with confidence that Tease ranks high on the list. Instructors are precise and professional; if your goal is to advance a skill, they will see you get there. Regular attendees establish a sense of community. The only drawback is that it's so popular, you may be crowded out of certain classes--sign up early, and don't expect 100% individual attention in a packed class. Also, the pricing can be a little steeper than some other studios who offer equal quality, but perhaps aren't as popular or "chic." Keep an eye out for promotions by getting on their mailing list or Facebook group. read more

I've taken a few pole dancing classes here and I can say that the instructors are super helpful in helping you learn the moves. Granted if you're not here every single week, you may not be as far along as some of the girls here. What you have to remember is that this isn't a competition on who can do the tricks better. It's about having fun and getting an amazing workout (my body is constantly sore...in a good way). Many of the other students are happy to help too in case the instructor is working with someone else. My only gripe is that the classes are booked in a manner that there are more students than there are poles so for some of the more popular classes, a few students don't get as much pole time (I found this out with the pole 2 class with Virginia, who by the way is AWESOME). But if you get there early, you can sometimes luck out and not have to share, but sometimes it's the luck of the draw (go for the poles in the middle for a better chance of not sharing a pole). If you do end up doing pole dancing, they have these technique cards in which you need to pass at each level to advance in the next. The idea is that you're going to be at a level for a certain amount of time so you can master the moves before you move on. If you're curious, you should check it out...but be forewarned...you might get addicted... read more

I've been an exotic dancer for about 5 years and took some time off, so I thought a class would help me get back into the swing of things and boy did it ever! This is the real deal: best dance studio in Denver (and the most reasonably priced)! Tease offers a variety of classes including pole, dance, lyra, flexibility, hammock, etc. The studio is spacious with tall ceilings (perfect for aerial arts). There is also lots of free parking around the building. The owner is an amazing and dedicated lady who is clearly 100% invested in the studio's success, not just as a business but as a community. She puts her heart and soul into making the studio as good as it can be, and she fosters an environment of acceptance, care, health, and friendship -- something you don't often find at places like this. I bought one of the many recent coupon deals for Tease, for 2 classes. The first class I took was an off-pole exercise class, their "Temptress Training." I had heard/read that it was a challenging workout, so I was a little concerned since I had done some seriously ass-kicking stuff the day before & was pretty sore. The class really wasn't that challenging, though.. there was a different instructor than the norm, so I don't know how much that factored in. It was an interesting, fun class though. The only thing I really found irksome about it was the girl who came in about a quarter into the class & plunked her chair down in front of mine (blocking the mirror view of what I was doing). Wouldn't have been so bad had she actually been participating in the class, but instead of doing the exercises she was stretching & doing some pop-lock 'dance' moves to the music being played. It was kind of distracting & annoying.. on their website Tease says that they require students to do the moves being taught by the instructor, even if they are more advanced, so as to not be a distraction to the other students.. obviously this isn't really the case. For this class I'll also note that when I went back for my next class I caught the ending of the previous class (the same one I had taken before) & noticed that it was drastically different than the one I had taken. Not sure if it's different every single time or if it was just the difference in instructor.. it looked like a totally different class! For my second class I went to one of their advanced-level pole sessions. I had been looking forward to taking a class from this particular instructor for a while! I called ahead & spoke with the owner to make sure I could take this class without first going through the beginner levels, since they require mastering specific moves first. I'm not sure what would have happened if I had just signed up for the class without doing that first, though, since once I was there no one asked me to "prove" that I could do anything & despite obviously being familiar with many of the girls in the class & their abilities, the instructor didn't bat an eye at never having seen me before. The pole class felt WAY overcrowded. There were 7 poles, & each pole had 2 girls on it, a few even had 3 girls per pole. After the 20-or-so minute warm-up we did that left precious little time to actually practice moves on the pole, let alone get individual attention from the instructor. For my money (I mean... if I was paying a normal class price) that's kind of disappointing. While warming up before doing difficult pole moves is definitely important, I felt that there was a lot more emphasis on the warm-up & subsequent couple of "free dances" than on learning actual pole tricks. I realize that I may be in the minority, but I don't go to classes like that to practice my sexy dance, I go to get time on the pole with an instructor present to help me with moves I'm working on. I'm a little shy & I don't really like doing dances, so to spend class time doing that, especially in front of the audience that gathers at the door (since there is no separation between the front reception/waiting area/door to the sidewalk & the pole room- by the time class was over there was a pretty large crowd of girls waiting/watching) is a little uncomfortable for me. If I wanted to go to a dance class, I would sign up for a dance class- Tease certainly has a nice variety on the schedule. If I sign up for a class to learn pole tricks, that's what I expect/want to do. Also as a minor note- for both classes I took the music was turned up so loud I couldn't understand what the instructor was saying a lot of the time.. maybe they could turn it down just a tad! Overall- Likes: Great atmosphere, really nice retail space in front- it's nice to be able to buy shorts, shoes, & all those things right at the studio. Their class schedule is fantastic & they have a lot of interesting looking classes. They run a lot of specials which is nice (although my account has yet to be credited for the survey I took). Really great decor & high energy, talented instructors. Dislikes: Overcrowded classes, stuffy studio, no separation between the outside door & the pole room, you have to walk through the class space to get to the bathroom/changing area which I thought was a little awkward. I am not yet sure if I will go back. I regularly go to a different studio that has less crowded classes & allows more time on the pole & more individual attention from instructors. While I would like to sample some more of Tease's classes, I'll probably wait to snag another deal rather than pay full price. read more

I love Tease!! The studio is amazing. Perfect lighting, smells good, cute decor, plenty of room, and great sound system. The teachers are very good and seem to really enjoy what they do. I do pole dancing but also have taken some of their dance cardio classes which are super hard and super fun! I love the positive female atmosphere Tease creates. Girls in the class are all ages, shapes, and sizes. They are all friendly and supportive of one another. It is my work out home now. I am so glad I found Tease. I had a wonderful experience taking beginner pole classes with Greyce Skinner. Greyce teaches in a way that is fun, challenging, inclusive, and conscious. The environment she created made me feel safe and supported and also pushed me to enjoy the dance as more than just a great workout, but as an exciting creative expression. Tease Studio is my second home! This place and community pulled me out of a dark spot. I have made more friends here than I have in my entire life, and I am physically and mentally healthier than I have ever been. I feel invincible with this community by my side! They are are accepting and encouraging. As a plus sized women, I struggle to workout in public and socialize. Tease has helped me feel beautiful in my own skin and has brought me out of my shell so much. I went into their burlesque program wanting to stop making myself smaller to please others and finished it with a new group of besties and the motivation to go after all of my biggest dreams! Its amazing how much I have grown in the past few months and I owe it all to Tease! My mom also takes classes with Tease and has unfortunately been discriminated against at other studios because of her age. She always loves coming to classes at Tease and has never felt out of place! We are both incredibly thankful for this studio and I am grateful that my mom and I can partake in this activity together. The owner is also incredible! You can tell she really cares about her clients and making tease a safe place for all. 100/10 would recommend to everyone I ever meet! read more

I am so addicted to these classes. My co-worker got me into them and they give you your first class for free. Then i purchased 10 classes for 99$ (Promotion during Jan.). I had to take a Level 1 class then took two other classes. I took pole specific with Becca and pole technique with Jenna. They are both GREAT! They are both really helpful and very good at what they do! Most of the girls in the class were very advanced, but I just had to keep telling myself they all had to start somewhere! I love Tease. I originally went on a whim because a friend bought a groupon and I'd resolved to say yes to everything for a month. I never expected to fall in love with it, but since then I've learned to love my body for what it can do, not how it looks, I've made true and lifelong friends, and I've leaned to hang upside down on a pole with no hands. And my abs have never looked better! You can find a place here whether you're a lifelong dancer or never taken a dance class, 20 years old or 45, a college student or a doctor. It is intimidating at first because there definitely is a learning curve to the pole classes but once you catch on, it's a blast. UPDATE -- This business is under new management. I feel that the quality of the space is still limited compared to other studios, but the customer service drastically improved. The new owner teaches in the studio [and has been there for ages] and I see her there all the time now. It's been a very refreshing change and I feel really positive that this studio will continue to improve under her guidance. (I have changed my rating to reflect the improved support the new owner demonstrates.) --------- COMMUNITY: (+) I have been attending this studio for over 3 years. I have absolutely loved the company of the other women there and the incredible instruction from some highly talented teachers. Everyone is very warm and supportive and loves to help each other learn. But... VALUE/SERVICE: (-) I bought unlimited access to the studio, at the Black Friday sale, and it was NOT what was advertised. It was stated I'd be saving compared to month-to-month members; however, less than a month later, rates for those members were dropped by 20%. Additionally, the studio was decreased in size by half! I contacted the owner to ask for a partial-refund and was offered and extra month instead. (I'm unhappy and not planning on renewing, so why would I want that? However, this was never credited to my account as she indicated it would be... so even if I had wanted it, I never got it.) I was left feeling like she didn't listen to my concerns and that she wasn't entirely aware of the quality of her studio compared to her competitors. Additionally, there were times when I had to leave reminders with the receptionists and contact her via Facebook so she'd check her email; sometimes it was over 2 weeks before I got a response. You can see from other reviews, I'm not the only one to have had issues with response time. QUALITY: (-) With the reduction in space, classes are over-crowded and overheat quickly. It also feels poorly lit and poorly maintained compared to what it once was. The current layout is not ideal for dance classes [poles are everywhere], but the ceiling height is not ideal for pole classes [ceiling has some extra low areas]. If you are a tall individual like I am [5'9"], your are at risk of kicking things. Parts of the ceiling, people, and some crowded by nearby objects like chairs and benches. Long story, short? My toes have been very sad lately. read more
